Pretty basic stuff I just started doing Sudoku and I used this strategy for my first puzzle. If you don't know this than it's almost impossible to do Sudoku
Well I'm a self-taught Sudoku lover (I play it exclusively on my iPod which has a great version from EA) and my fastest time to complete a normal-difficulty puzzle was 8:43. I would LOVE to get faster, and I obviously will with more practice. But I think Carol's lessons are aimed at beginners, and that's great, because a lot of people would be put off by Sudoku (as I was to begin with). She explains it in simple terms and the graphic really works well in response to her walkthru.
Thanks Carol for the basic instruction! beautiful step-by-step and I actually understood it since I've never played sudoku. I've spent almost an hour from other authors (even though it was nice gesture) but I still have no clue what they are talking about. Seems like they are missing out an EXPLANATION of the logic nature of placing the number. Now, I've got some clue!
if this lesson is too simple for you skip it and go to an advanced sodoku tips page of which there are plenty of them online. A beginner might find this lesson useful. Complaining that it doesnt help solve ALL puzzles is pretty fucking STUPID!!
Thanks a lot. you just gave me a simple direction to start on sudoku. Now here's a thing ... if you are above 30 that would leave me just one choice which is that I'll marry your daughter and if you are under 30 then you'll be mine. oh its lovely how slicing and dicing made this simple for me.
HEY DESTROYJEWSAT. YOU BUTT MUNCH. YOU WERE TALKING ABOUT BEING SMART, AND TALKING OUT YUH ASS. RIGHT?? BUT YOU DIDN'T EVEN SPELL THE WORD SENTENCE CORRECT......hahahaha. THINK DUDE.
Hmm.. I call this scanning. It's a great technique for simple puzzles, but you'll only find a number or two using this technique in difficult or very difficult puzzles. It's not the basic technique for every puzzle. it only works well for easy to medium puzzles. Nice presentation, though, and very well explained. Could somebody please create a video that's this simple about remote chain pairs, X-wing, etc. ? I'd really love to see it.
It won't work in all puzzles because it's possible that you can get more than one possibility in one square, leading to lots of guessing and 98% of the time a wrong puzzle.
I cant believe you just used the words "Smart" and "Woman" in the same sentense. Women are meant to work in the kitchen, the bedroom, and jobs men dont want to work at
Until I saw this, I honestly was very scared of this game because I SUCK at math and until this, I had assumed the wrong thing about the game. I found it extremely helpful!

Slicing and Dicing is an inaccurate name for this 'technique.'
It's the basics. And you can't solve EVERY sudoku puzzle by just the basics. Only the super easy ones.
BlueFlame1365 2 years ago 3
what's the reason of even calling these 'techniques' somehow? It's somethinf everyone just sees...

This is useless in the harder cases of Sudoku, as Geebeeman said. You will have to use this technique, but with up to 5 numbers at a time.
Yakushii 3 years ago
Too basic in the long-winded instructions. Does not help for the difficult puzzles!
