Help!. I can't turn on my x10!. Y tries to update to GB, and now it's dead. The green light only flashes for less than a second when I trie to turn it on..
Hey I tried the links to the firmwares you posted here, but for some reason they are no longer available for download :(...the link is not working, and I really wanted to flash my phone from 2.1-2.3. Anyway you can help me out man?
i just installed the 2.3.3 on my xperia 10 everything running smootly buuuut, i cannot longer reproduce AAC music files, anyone knows a way to fix this? i used tools 6.0, to flash it and this X10a_3.0.1.G.0.75_AM-US GENERIC.ftf for the firmware, it said on the tutorial to use 3.0 ersion of tools but never find it, i hope someone can aswer would be very much apreciated, maybe a firmaware that has it or maybe a link for tools 3.0 or a solution ty
Nvm i figured it out, for any others that would have this problem you have to manually enter in your APN in the "Wireless and Network" Settings under "Mobile Networks."
The upgrade worked great...the only problem is now it wont access ATT's 3G or 4G at all. Even when i disable my wireless, and run through the start up guide, it wont "Download the internet setting." Has this happened to anyone else? I would like if it i didnt have to pay for a data package that i cant even access lol. Help?

@ppjjlop Basically you need PC companion to set up the initial flash. But maybe you can do it without it. Put your phone into flash mode and connect it to your computer. Test to see if your computer is installing the flash drivers or not.
hi i have the x10a i'm assuming this will work first off i would like to know if i can just go ahead and install the x10i file and what the diffrnece is also on the link provided i cant find a file that has the exact dimensions of the one you downloaded can you also post a link to that also if your still reading is there a way to have the phone not boot android but boot linix instead (more specificity chromium or pinguyOS?)
@misuiki6325 Yes, you can install the X10i version on the X10a. No real differences. I'm not sure if you can install linux only, but you can always check up on XDA Developers if there is. As for a link, check your messages in a bit.

@GinoZump Yup! As it should on a newer device. Sony Ericsson gimped the X10 with 256 ram + 128 ram dedicated to gaming and an older andreno 200 GPU. Xperia Play has 512 ram with an optimized Adreno 205 GPU. Sony Ericsson decided to cap the frames per second on the X10 to 30 so you will see noticeable "lag", whereas the Play doesn't have those limitations. Those things can be improved with a optimized kernel.
I updated my X10 to Gingerbread from this video and love it but only one problem my internet connection is not working only Wi-Fi!!! How do I turn on or get my phones internet to work???
@DUSTINLEEMILHAM A few things you can do. First go into settings, Sony Ericsson, and let it set it automatically search for your settings. If not, do it manually by going into settings, wireless networks, mobile networks, Access Point Names (APN). Search for your mobile provider's APN settings and enter it manually. Don't forget to save! Let me know if you have more questions. Good Luck!

@felopx If you have an X10, you can do it (I have an AT&T branded X10a). Can't be installed on a mini or a mini pro. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Just install PC companion and check for an update. Also, just in case, go to settings, applications and check usb debugging on your phone. If that doesn't work, restart your computer. Let me know if that works. Also make sure you have the latest java installed on your computer.
Hi i installed a custom rom the wrong way and now my phone keeps hanging on the SE logo SE update service doesnt work allways get a notification about allready being up to date or its not possible to do software repair and flashtool gives me this ERROR - (X10flash.java:286) - Error flashing. Aborted after Flashing loader can you help me? I have tried everything i could possible find nothing works (I have a X10 mini pro)
@sandermans15 Hi, this won't work for the mini pro, only the X10. Repair your phone via PC companion if you can. If not, find the X10 Mini Pro XDA site and find a ftf bundle to reflash to stock via flashtool. Make sure you have the latest java installed too.

@eddidrift Did you download Sony Ericsson PC Companion to set up your phone for the initial flash? It will install the drivers so that the flash process can work. Also, just in case, go to your phone settings, applications, development and check usb debugging. Hope this helps.
@eddidrift I'm an idiot, haha, You have to have your phone off to put it in flash mode. No need to restart your phone. I haven't done this for awhile. Hahha.
@chillinmode Do you see an H instead of 3G? If so, that is HSPA or 3.5G. If you don't have data at all, go to settings - Sony Ericsson and have it configure your network. If that doesn't work you will have to manually change your APN settings via Settings - Wireless - Mobile networks - APN or Access Point Names. I don't know what network you are on so you will have to google it. It should be easy.
@desolateSDG How did you backup your content? Did you use the backup and restore app from SE? If so, there should be a link in the description on how to get that back. Please be more descriptive on your situation.
@desolateSDG Just like a normal apk. Go into setting - Applications - and check the box for unknown sources. Download it with your phone if you can. Otherwise, get a file manager from the market place like ASTRO and find where you downloaded it, and click on it.

@dhanush031 To my knowledge, there are no 2.3.4 roms available. There are a few items available from the 2.3.4 dump that were made compatible with 2.3.3 but it never worked for me. Mainly Facebook inside Xperia version 2. That was a few weeks ago, I have yet to try installing it again. You can find it on XDA and you can flash it via xrecovery. More information on how to do that in my newest video (now old because I haven't updated in awhile).
@funnyvideos12321 It can't work for the Mini Pro. Only the X10. Reflash back to stock and check XDA for mini pro roms. X10 roms will not work for the mini pro. Different hardware completely.
@funnyvideos12321 Do you have an Xperia X10? If so, there is no way to get it to 2.3.4 officially. The Arc updates won't work on it either. You can get 2.3.4+ if you get a custom rom. Reflash your phone back to 2.3, root, install Xrecovery or CWM and install a rom that is supported.

and cant go back to cyanogenmod 7 , cause got a trouble on procces.acore. i never stops showing. so. i uninstallit and install the "wolf" version.
@nabilmacho95 No. Only for the X10. If you want Gingerbread, get CyanogenMod 7. Also, check XDA-Developers Mini Pro Android Development section for other roms that you can install.
I tried to flash my phone, but on the flash mode it just keeps on telling me to the steps on flashing like the 1 unplug then, 2 turn off, 3 hold back then plug it back in. the flash just keeps on giving me error and says SEARCHING FOR EXPERIA AND PLEASE INSTALL OR REINSTALL DRIVERS FROM THE DRIVERS FOLDER. my phone is att carrier and I am not sure if it is unlocked. @crowyard Yo. Do you have a unlocked version or carrier version? It might be that your carrier hasn't released the Gingerbread update yet. If that is the case, go ahead and update via the method shown in the video. Have fun and good luck!
@crowyard I guess I should ask it this way, is your phone carrier branded or debranded? If it is debranded you should be able to update via PC Companion. If it doesn't allow you to, update via the method shown in the video.
i do install gingerbread, and noticed that i have issues when play music and videos, its choppy... i donwload again other gingerbread tft, and re install it... and the issue continues, and 3d time I download another GB file from XDA.dev. and same problem...

@alfredbass You are not alone. That is a bug that is in SE's Gingerbread, for whatever reason there is an audio stutter issue. Not unbearable but when you listen to a lot of music it becomes annoying. Unless SE gives the X10 another update, you will need to root your phone and install the audio stutter fix to get rid of it. My two latest videos can help you get there. Links are all in the description including the fix in my latest video. Good Luck!
Question: even after updating yore phone with the custom dom kernel and other zips (fps, xloud, stutter fix , overclocking, etc) do you still find your x10 lagging? I'm lagging I lag much less but it still lags alot and the free ram is typically 60 to 80mbs free after killing apps. Any thoughts?
@jaysonhullmedia Yes. The X10 does lag quite a bit but those fixes help make the X10 run smoother. I do think it is due to its lack of ram (256mb/128mb dedicated to gaming) and it can be quite frustrating. What helps for me is that I set my setcpu profile setting to min/max at 1036 or 1152 OC (depending on what your phone can handle) and no underclocking. It seems to work pretty well although battery life is decreased a bit.
@p1ckl3steeny No. This is only for the X10. Good news is that the officially supported CyanogenMod7 is available. Check out the CyanogenMod site and/or XDA developers for more information.
@Tagmannnn Firmware wise nothing discernable. Most roms you install will be X10i because it's the international version. Hardware wise, you would have less cell service in the Americas because it is lacking some of the US 3G bands that T-Mobile uses.

@MARSHMADNESS1000 I'm sorry you are having so many issues. Many people feel the same way about Sony Ericssons. Overall they do their job and work as phones but are hindered by last gen specs so it lags and so forth. You should take a picture of the poop and send it to them as a statement of their products.
on pc companion every time it ask to tap memory card connect,, i dont have any where to do so on my phone.. all i have is connect and disconnect,, no media files on anything like that..
@MARSHMADNESS1000 You do or do not have a memory card? You have to mount usb storage if you do have one. Pull the notification bar down and connect usb storage and then tap connect.
when i connect the phone up to the computer and all the phone files come up, there is nothing in the file that says firmware... and on pc companion , the update you phone step by step wont work,, what is media transfer (mtp)? my phone has none of this on it.. r800x
@MARSHMADNESS1000 STOP THERE! You already have Gingerbread. It's the Xperia Play right? If so you should be good. I can send you a link to get CyanogenMod7 if you want to start modding your system but you will have to unlock your bootloader and so forth. Or you can just root your phone and get rid of unwanted apps and or allow wireless tethering etc. Let me know.
@MARSHMADNESS1000 Do you mean that it doesn't have the files in the firmware folder? Did you download the firmware and extract the files into the Flashtool firmware file? You should have done the following:
1. Download Flashtool 2. Extract/install Flashtool 3. Download the Firmware 4. Extract files to the firmware folder of flashtool 5. Follow the rest of my guide.
Did you install PC Companion first and set it up for an initial flash? PC Companion will download all the necessary drivers once you connect your phone. If that doesn't work, restart your computer and try again. Also go to settings>applications>development and check USB Debugging. Also make sure you have the latest version of Java installed on your computer.
@quiksilverboi97 Unfortunately I do not. I would suggest reflashing your firmware to see if that fixes it. Otherwise you'll either have to send it in for repair which can be quite expensive depending on where you live. Another choice is to try to fix it yourself. There is a digitizer on cnn.cn but I'm not sure if it will fix your problem as there may be other issues. Overall it might just be cheaper to buy a new phone. Good Luck!
@ashf114 You want to roll back to 2.1? Just reflash using flashtool with the link in the flashtool thread. Backup and restore app is not included in the 2.3 update but you can find a link with a working backup and restore app in the video description.

@chillinmode Do you see an H instead of 3G? If so, that is HSPA or 3.5G. If you don't have data at all, go to settings - Sony Ericsson and have it configure your network. If that doesn't work you will have to manually change your APN settings via Settings - Wireless - Mobile networks - APN or Access Point Names. I don't know what network you are on so you will have to google it. It should be easy.

@desolateSDG Just like a normal apk. Go into setting - Applications - and check the box for unknown sources. Download it with your phone if you can. Otherwise, get a file manager from the market place like ASTRO and find where you downloaded it, and click on it.

@dhanush031 To my knowledge, there are no 2.3.4 roms available. There are a few items available from the 2.3.4 dump that were made compatible with 2.3.3 but it never worked for me. Mainly Facebook inside Xperia version 2. That was a few weeks ago, I have yet to try installing it again. You can find it on XDA and you can flash it via xrecovery. More information on how to do that in my newest video (now old because I haven't updated in awhile).

@funnyvideos12321 It can't work for the Mini Pro. Only the X10. Reflash back to stock and check XDA for mini pro roms. X10 roms will not work for the mini pro. Different hardware completely.

@funnyvideos12321 Do you have an Xperia X10? If so, there is no way to get it to 2.3.4 officially. The Arc updates won't work on it either. You can get 2.3.4+ if you get a custom rom. Reflash your phone back to 2.3, root, install Xrecovery or CWM and install a rom that is supported.

and cant go back to cyanogenmod 7 , cause got a trouble on procces.acore. i never stops showing. so. i uninstallit and install the "wolf" version.

I tried to flash my phone, but on the flash mode it just keeps on telling me to the steps on flashing like the 1 unplug then, 2 turn off, 3 hold back then plug it back in. the flash just keeps on giving me error and says SEARCHING FOR EXPERIA AND PLEASE INSTALL OR REINSTALL DRIVERS FROM THE DRIVERS FOLDER. my phone is att carrier and I am not sure if it is unlocked. @nayrnigle Did you install PC Companion first and set it up for an initial flash? If so, try a reboot on your computer to see if that works. Make sure you have User Access Controls off (UAC in windows). Also, on your phone go to Settings>Applications>Development and check USB debugging just in case.

@crowyard I guess I should ask it this way, is your phone carrier branded or debranded? If it is debranded you should be able to update via PC Companion. If it doesn't allow you to, update via the method shown in the video.

i do install gingerbread, and noticed that i have issues when play music and videos, its choppy... i donwload again other gingerbread tft, and re install it... and the issue continues, and 3d time I download another GB file from XDA.dev. and same problem...

@alfredbass You are not alone. That is a bug that is in SE's Gingerbread, for whatever reason there is an audio stutter issue. Not unbearable but when you listen to a lot of music it becomes annoying. Unless SE gives the X10 another update, you will need to root your phone and install the audio stutter fix to get rid of it. My two latest videos can help you get there. Links are all in the description including the fix in my latest video. Good Luck!

Question: even after updating yore phone with the custom dom kernel and other zips (fps, xloud, stutter fix , overclocking, etc) do you still find your x10 lagging? I'm lagging I lag much less but it still lags alot and the free ram is typically 60 to 80mbs free after killing apps. Any thoughts?

@jaysonhullmedia Yes. The X10 does lag quite a bit but those fixes help make the X10 run smoother. I do think it is due to its lack of ram (256mb/128mb dedicated to gaming) and it can be quite frustrating. What helps for me is that I set my setcpu profile setting to min/max at 1036 or 1152 OC (depending on what your phone can handle) and no underclocking. It seems to work pretty well although battery life is decreased a bit.

@Tagmannnn Firmware wise nothing discernable. Most roms you install will be X10i because it's the international version. Hardware wise, you would have less cell service in the Americas because it is lacking some of the US 3G bands that T-Mobile uses.
X10i = International X10a - Americas

Overall they do their job and work as phones but are hindered by last gen specs so it lags and so forth. You should take a picture of the poop and send it to them as a statement of their products.

I can send you a link to get CyanogenMod7 if you want to start modding your system but you will have to unlock your bootloader and so forth. Or you can just root your phone and get rid of unwanted apps and or allow wireless tethering etc. Let me know.

1. Download Flashtool 2. Extract/install Flashtool 3. Download the Firmware 4. Extract files to the firmware folder of flashtool 5. Follow the rest of my guide.

If that doesn't work, restart your computer and try again. Also go to settings>applications>development and check USB Debugging. Also make sure you have the latest version of Java installed on your computer.

@quiksilverboi97 Unfortunately I do not. I would suggest reflashing your firmware to see if that fixes it. Otherwise you'll either have to send it in for repair which can be quite expensive depending on where you live. Another choice is to try to fix it yourself. There is a digitizer on cnn.cn but I'm not sure if it will fix your problem as there may be other issues. Overall it might just be cheaper to buy a new phone. Good Luck!
