Yes it was dude Metal Gear and Metal Gear:SolidSnake was on the NES.Metal Gear came out in 1987 then Metal Gear 2 in 1990

Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake was never released on the NES. Snake's Revenge was the one that was released on the NES in 1990. Snake's Revenge is not a true sequel. It is consider part of a parallel universe to the other games.

Deceptionfan is right, Metal Gear 2: Solid Snake was never released on the NES, the NES got a crappy game made with the license. The MSX Metal Gear 2 was an entirely different game, and possibly my favourite out of them all.
