great song but, good lord, get creative, even on a modest budget as this song evokes thoughts of desperation, mystery, uncertainty & this is what they felt was best to represent such a solid tune?
Great Jam! "Slacker Radio" brought me here, & glad they did....cause as soon as I heard this I immediately wrote it down & put it on my favs! ;) Thanks again!
Bon Iver sang with the Nationals on Q. Check it out, it's pretty awesome..... The lead singer looks kinda like Bov Iver, too, Weird. I guess scruffy just = genius.
I was out drinking all day with my friends, i was so fucked i was ready to get a lift home, then this song came on in the club and i carried my friends throughout the nite, 9 hours later, i'm home typing this, drunk as can be. That is how much i love this song and music itself.
@thegreatz12345 many different types of clubs out there, they dont all play the same tunes that make yer head ache after a few secs, some also play the good tunes that u can actually listen to for more than 5secs
@CotyCaustic It would have Blueberries and Bananas and Maple Syrup and after I ate it I would cry tears of Melancholic Joy, so sad that it was gone but so happy it had been part of my life!
Hi there. Sorry for doing this, I know it's slightly tasteless so I'm not gonna do that "struggling artist" routine that's being generally used...so just check it out on my channel, you might like it. If you do, please spread the word :D. If not, sorry for wasting your time.
The art or science of combining vocal or instrumental sounds (or both) to produce beauty of form, harmony, and expression of emotion.
The riff may not be complex, but it's beautiful. Why should complexity ever matter? If you over-think music, it becomes a mindless process. That wouldn't be beautiful. That wouldn't be music.
I was so sad when they went off tour just this week that I wrote a song called "Wake me up when the National is back on tour" and then proceeded to watch their live performances on youtube all night
@eveoradam They were good..I think it had more to do with the crowd. The crowd was pretty lame though. I LOVED how they ended with Vanderlyle crybaby geeks. But tbh I think the should play at a smaller venue next time.
@robotgrass fair enough, a couple of good songs does not a legend make... but six awesome, intimate, soul-destroying albums? sounds to me like they're well on their way.

@peterzen12 I like this song because I just really dig progressive music like the deep dark beat of the whole bands catalog and as they don't show them here I like the way the band preforms as seen on Austin City Limits live. I suppose a little because they're from Indy, I'm from Terre Haute, In, and now live in ohio
