  • This makes me want to cry. <3 so good.

  • Speechless

  • So much emotion! Brava! :)

  • little pricess

  • 우와 한국인이다

  • Too good, too good!

  • sh'es so ggoooddd~

  • I always like to watch other people play the pieces i'm working on, it makes me feel like a slight failure but in a way pushes me to work harder

  • how come can 27 ppl dislike this? cuz she was playing this piece without looking the keys. Thats jst amazing for that young girl.

  • Good Job! You introduced me to this piece which I found after watching your sister Dominique play the minuet from Bizet's L'Arlesienne Suite on her flute. You are a very talented family. Thank you for Chopin's 69-2.

  • I'm playing this song too. I'm the same age as her. She is really good.

  • This is really good. Just the way I personally like it being played.

  • Amazing!!

  • @Lodine66 100% same ..

  • She's going to grow up to be a fine pianist indeed. Well played.

  • So wonderful~really shocked. She is a little girl but has got outstanding skill~awesome!

  • fucking nice, dont know how they can klick on the dislike button :s

  • 25 deaf people so far.

  • people before u dislike this check out her other videos then comment

  • She can understand! just see her face expression, she goes along with it. No matter what age you'll be able to feel Chopin in you heart!

  • I think the reason people disliked this video is because she was obviously forced onto the song by her parents. She is not yet old enough to appreciate Chopin's emotions at the time. After all, a 10 year old won't be able to understand the feelings of depression and emotional roller-coaster that Chopin felt in his daily life. The second you understand his point of view, the easier his songs become to emulate those emotions as he would've liked it to be played.

  • my gf will learn to play this =p

  • poor child...

  • なめらかで大人っぽい★

  • music just flows through this girl. she's incredible. keep it up!

  • Beautiful Valerie!

  • FINALLY... Finally i found this piece... It is this Chopins Waltz in the SIMS-game and i have always wondered what is that beautiful piece that the sims are playing... :D

Yippee.. :) Now i can learn it myself...

  • awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • sublime!

  • beautiful. I'm planning on learning the song soon, I just hope I can play it as well :)

  • they're always asian

  • @blagmish2 No, they aren't. You are just watching videos, which exist asians... Watch for example Emily Bear... She has compositions of her own...

  • @blagmish2 And Find:

    8/12 Ethan Plays "Love Story"

  • @blagmish2: Jerk

  • @skkniffe what? i'm asian too..

  • @blagmish2 : I apologize, blagmish. I thought you were putting her down. Perhaps you should have posted "Yay, she's Asian and I am too! Woo hoo!" Sheesh.

  • @blagmish2 I know right, even though im asian i still agree!:)

  • @climbergirl123 well if you're going like crazy fast then that's not cool man ;0 but a lil' faster is ok :D

  • Amazing depth from someone so young.

  • like an angel..

  • bull shit.... great players have to do years of hard exercise to prepare this piece and you can't pretend that a 6 years old chineese-girl can know how to play it well.... not well interpretaded, must be weaker with crescendo and diminuendo and, most important, with ritardati

  • @RomanoTunzTunz You are such a twat

  • @RomanoTunzTunz You jelly bro?

  • @PotionGirl18 -- Yes. Here is a tip: Play in front of as many people as you can as often as you can. Do it in front of friends or family. Do it for your parents or do it at school when people are listening. And just get used to it,

  • She really plays it perfectly, well almost then ^_^

BTW guys, this seems hard, but it isn't that hard - I learned this after 3 years...

The way to progress fast is having fun while playing, so try all sorts of music and start improvising ;-)

  • @PrimoTheDutchMan

3 years? I would like to hear you performing this piece one day, I'd like to hear the level of emotion in it. I can't read notes but I am learning this piece now, in 3 weeks I am at the last new part; over halfway.

So I come to think, or you like music a lot but weren't gifted with a lot of musical intelligence hence it's taking you a long time to master this or, you play this piece quite perfect, in which case that's a nice job also. Just brainstorming

  • @magicroller

If you were just being sarcastic, I didn't come to me that way, it's a little exagerrated practicing this 3 years imo. I play 2 years and a couple of months in total now and I play beethoven, chopin and brahms aswel

  • @magicroller 3 years, and 3 weeks? is that normal? I consider myself slow, and after 2 days I finished almost the first quarter, is that fast or slow? I like to learn pieces fast... thats why I am studing notes right now.

  • @magicroller in particular, after a day, maybe almost two days, I learned until this videos 00:58 around there... is that fast or slow

  • @asbani911 its supposed to be a suddenly slow, ritenudo, part followed by an a tempo

  • this is one of the best versions on youtube

  • You play the piano too?? You are one gifted child!! Mozart like:)

  • Beautiful work, Valerie! I am playing this now as an adult student and you inspire me. My son is 9 and we're trying hard to get him to use his arms more to bring out the melody. You do it so well. He starts Chopin this summer albeit not THIS piece quite yet. You look like you really enjoy playing. Keep it up!

  • haha im playing this song too! im in grade 8 piano (:

  • 17 people dont like piano sound

  • this is beautiful i had to shead a tear

i call it melanoappy get me?

  • i want to play this piece so bad

  • OMG she closing her eyes?!!

  • @zome10 it just lux like she is cuz...

im not trying to be racist but...

    u kno

  • So good!....And so early too. Hope NYC is treating u OK.........

  • 17 people must have Bieber fever.

  • Oh my , keep up the great playing. And thank you for sharing your talents

  • Hey I thought Romantic songs were R rated, ha ha. She does it as if she's old enough though. But hey, wtf are there only old audiences?

  • She played the song well and she's very cute also :3

  • OMG wonderful piece of music =) Thumbs up for you!

    And she's so young!

  • There are 15 nobodies who cannot comprehend the diabolic waltz within this video. They then suffered from a sudden schizophrenic syndrome 15 days later. Unfortunately psychiatrists could not comprehend that they were actually possessed, and marked them with down syndrome. They were confined for 15 years and were finally released, only to find that it would take only 15 more years in jail to be free for accidentally murdering 15 people in public.

  • @OzInHalloween That's not funny anymore.

  • @theantonioexperience Who said it had to be?

  • @OzInHalloween Ok, then let's make them 16

  • @theantonioexperience I can only hope that not one or more fools attempt to click the dislike button. If someone didn't attempt to do so but was hurt by the song and accidentally clicked it, then I hope that their heart will recover and repent for their sins.

  • woo i think i could marry her and her sister both

  • Wow, she is excellent. How much does she spend on practicing piano each day.

  • wow i play at least 30 mins a day. most the times 45 an have played 5 years. i know alot of realy hard songs and idk this seems like its pretty hard so i gota wonder how freaking long she practices if shes that young to play this. great btw

  • wow

  • Way to go Valerie!!! i love how you play it!!! Your feelings really showed.

  • Bravo! Great job I was looking for the Waltz in a A minor but saw this.

  • Brava!!!

  • Comment removed

  • juann la niña te gana..!!

  • Bravo!

  • She is so much better than me, and im soo much older then her~!

She has got the talent... unbelievable~!

    Perfect Performance~!

  • that was realy realy well played

  • Beautiful..... imSoJeaulous, im barely learning piano:/

my parents didnt take my talents seriously, so i had to sacrifice myself in my room to learn new stuff ):

    ((art,dancing,creativity,piano lil'chance)))

  • beautiful rendition! I wish I could play that like her!

  • 13 people wish they had talent

  • Wow. That was beautifull. Thank you!!

  • Jesus fucking christ! Another asian prodigy.

  • @kescores

    SO?

  • bravo Valerie!

  • Asians are always one step ahead.

Or many many steps ahead, as it seems here.

I'm almost twice her age and only just halfway through this piece?!

    She's just pure prodigy.

  • @TheJakwak

I seem to be the only asian who is 1 step behind. I am no where near this calibre, and only above average intellectually, no way a prodigy.

    Its all hard work brah.

  • @123conundrum Nah it's all g :D I'm 2 steps behind. 13 years old now and only learnt 3 pages of that piece. :L

Very hard work. And demanding parents. =.=

  • @123conundrum and hey.. just cos we're asian doesn't mean we have to be geniuses who play the piano and violin all hardcore. You could be the kindest person in the world. And no one would ever know..

  • she propbly been playing a bit longer than most people and has a good ear or she plays anther instermet altogether and got caught up with piano thats what happned to me and i stuck with now i play five intersment ;0

  • i'm 10 years older and i only started to play this now .... i feel so bad >.< but how she plays it at 1:48 ! i really want to see those fingers of her ^^ (and a girl of 7 playing this piece with such an appearance ... it's rather arrogant)

  • Well, Chopin was composing at seven.

  • wow how old is she?

  • awesome !

  • holy fuuuuuuck.

    obviously shes good.

    shes asian.

  • I just turned 12 and I`m just learning this song... Its beautiful!

  • @LiamFlamish hahaa I'm 13 -.-' and halfway through it. It's ridiculous how amazing she is. :)

  • Twelve people haven't watched the video.

  • @TheForestReverie Make that 16

  • @TheForestReverie

    17 didn't. ;)

  • @TheForestReverie No, sir. Twelve people simply think that this young girl is really talented, but she's still TOO YOUNG to UNDERSTAND Chopin's music. She cannot understand his "Zal"...so please do not get too excited by this girl. Listen to Arrau, Pollini, Rubinstein...

  • pure poetry!

  • I also have to say that she has a liking of music, or preformances herself.

  • I'm a child pianist myself, 8, almost 9, and cannot believe, even with my high expectations, the sheer beauty of this music. I'd say this would be a very talented girl, actually.

  • Stellar

  • AMAZING !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! O_O

  • Very nice! Thank you. (TS)

  • 0.0

    what the hell!!!!

  • she plays butt she dont know the pain amen

  • very well played. i hope she had fun by sitting her whole childhood in front of the piano!

  • @Andromoll she looks happy to me!

  • @baiba6 i hope you are right. do you really think you can see the really deep emotions by only looking on a person. may be the surface. But i hope you are right!

  • @Andromoll Some do see a child who plays the piano well and some assume that this child is doing it against their will, but we need to compare this to someone who is good at other arts - would we say the same about an exceptional ballerina or painter? Would we assume they are being forced against their will and are miserable at it - no, and the same goes for pianists, they are passionate, creative, and love what they do, these small pianists love playing as much as we love listening for sure..!

  • im sure you are right

  • beautiful interpretation!

  • cool

  • Someone ALWAYS has to cough, oh well! Beautiful playing! Congratulations!

  • of course she's good, guys, SHES ASIAN!

  • @sugarbomb187 Err, not always, but I think that Asians are just, well, very musical compared with the rest of us. By the way, I'm asian too, and I'm also a child pianist like she is. I'm rating it badly because you're not actually explaining it right. I think that there are some non-musical people that are asian, but I don't think you should draw a conclusion using that.

  • @benwen1 By that, I mean drawing a conclusion that pianists are asian, or in that same matter, not asian.

  • @benwen1 I'm saying this correction to the account: sugarbomb187.

  • i love it ! she plays with strong feeling and she looks so happy. Very good interpretation!

  • Beautiful!!! I've re-discovered this piece!

  • this is one of the best interpretations that I have seen on here, incredibly by such a young person.

  • Very well played !

  • impressive

  • Oh my! Is she like 10? How can she get to such a high level at such a young age?? *Of course... she's Asian -___-* VERY impressive...

  • She has great understanding of music, I can but admire and be jealous of her gift.

  • ich finde das vom user: kawaimoscha besser!

  • Valerie, we miss u playing piano. Why have u wandered off to the violin??

(We r being selfish of course.) :-)

  • Awesome!!! Very beautiful. Thank you for making me feel very happy. I believe a child has emotions, so I hope people do not blame a little kid playing this kind of piece. They can do. You can see it when you hear the sound such a child is making.

  • i read some of the comments on other youtube vids featuring very young asian piano players and too many say things like the parents are enslaving them! i learned piano in gradeschool but since i was never that amazing, no one said "poor thing, his parents must be tyrants" anyways, this--this is the sound of someone who LOVES music and loves this song. you cannot play like this if you don't like what you're doing. theres so much feeling in it.

  • @gekisen01 I do feel the same : )

  • @gekisen01 - i agree with you my friend. i have to learn this piece, but i don't think i will put as much feeling into it as she did. she obviously loves to play, she plays with a smile. amazing and talented little girl! simply wonderful. :)

  • @gekisen01 I think thats just coming out in people as defensiveness about having been spoiled and lazy as kids. :P

  • Chopin would be proud of it.

  • She is just perfect!

    I love it! :)

  • I loved this performance!

  • WOW!

  • wow she's so young!

  • wow she's awesome !

Keep it up girl, you're great !

  • When I hear this song, it is so relax!

  • super

  • little asian girl. enough said

  • she's like an angel. man, wish I could reach such depth in my playing.

  • gifted

  • How can a little girl play this piece so beautiful! I am elder than her but she play better than me! However,I think she play too fast.

  • Wow-truly incredible. I've never heard a ten year old play with such passion and expertise.

  • WTFOMFGBBQ :D

pro is the only word to describe it >:D

  • I have two or three Chopin pieces in my classicall collection and this is one of the most beautiful I think. The dexterity of such a small child is amazing, this is a hard piece to play and she does a fantastic job. Very impressed!

  • im not being funny or anything but its actually not that hard. not that im disrespecting this girl cos she sounds amazing. but stil its not that hard at all. :/

  • @thatssooriginal

Then make us a youtube video of you playing the piece. Back it up with something more than "it's not that hard". All we see is talk until you can prove to us otherwise that you are just as good. Please mail me the vid so I can watch it, then again, you won't. Have a nice day.

  • On guitar it's a tricky one.

  • What a beautiful pianist! I can't play like her when i was at her age!!

  • Wow you played with such a maturity for your age..you really felt this song and that shows !

  • 1日1回は聞きに来てしまいます。。

    思わず聞き入ってしまう演奏です。

    素晴らしい!

  • That's beautiful, love it.

  • Very nice and full sensitive.Bravo ! 5* for you . Thank for sharing !

  • She have a great talent *-*

  • Excellent performance! She plays with the maturity of someone twice her age

  • Wow, you never realize how talented a child her age must be, untill you have the sheet music placed and assigned to you in your own face!!!! This waltz is HARD!!!!!

  • I love how much emotion she puts into this! It's fantastic especially considering her age! I wish I was that good at her age haha

  • Nicely done! :D i wish i was that good at your age :P

  • i wonder why my comment that i wrote is

a minus 1 it was a good comment i even

wrote good job 2 times. Now i know i wrote job with a g. Anyway spellings do not matter so whoever did that please change it and this is NOTa bad comment either.

  • you should meet with Yujia Wang she is your age(i think so?) and she plays the piano relly well just like you i bet you play even better than her lets see

  • AWESOME !!! i loke you !!

  • well done for your age :) keep it up!

  • oh my goodness. this is a level 5 out of 6. im playing it. im so glad that she appreciates it and gets into it. its so awesome. especially for a girl her age.

  • she is very good

  • wow good gob i play this song and i am 9 yr old GOOD GOB!

  • talent

  • Splendid Performance! You play with alot of feeling! There is a small section where you should breathe a little longer to emphasize change. Great job!
