Sounds a mix of Johnny Mathis, Glen Campbell and Bobby Goldsboro...not a bad offering at all. You have to give him credit for having the guts to do a Hank song as well.
Terry tried to make it as a country western singer, but did not do so well. He has a fine voice, but I guess people were more comfortable with him on the football field instead of on the stage, because he never quite made it as a singer, but I enjoy his songs.
Drop your cynical attitude and go with what you "hear". The man has a good to potentially great voice. Would you believe that Terry's Cover version here is the biggest selling version of "I So Lonesome I Could Cry?" According to Billboard it is and this version is quite good and yes - I still have the original 45 and album.
