  • I don't understand why BMW still uses McPherson struts on their cars. They obviously know something that I don't....

  • If you want more traffic to your site,Not many ppl know it but an affiliate program is the only real solution to that,The GAS aff system is all you need,Because the average person doesn't have the coding skills to install other aff systems,Find it here GAS-AFFILIATEdotCOM.

  • 原來轉向機構這麼深澳!!

  • It DOES NOT GIVE THE "AUTHENTIC BMW STEERIG FEEDBACK"!!!

Ever tried the Z4 2002-2009??? Feels like crap. It even had many issues with in-factory failures, especially after long hours of use or in warm weathers.

I've driven BMW since I'm 18, all the models of the 3 Series, M3s, 5 Series, Z1 none feel like this Active Steering, electric crap.

That is why they equip all the BMW M models with conventional hydraulic assisted steering systems.

  • @alernest

thanks for telling me that, this system looks just a tad too faulty with its setup in my opinion. Being that you drove it before, tell me what it actually feels like if you will between this and that "authentic BMW feel"?

  • @GigaMinion

I've driven the BMW Z4 1st gen in Germany and also my parents own a Subaru Forester 04 which has the same system. They both feel "fine", both steerings harden up as soon as you start driving enthusistically but in the end you always feel some system is administering it. For instance, if you you're not steering on a straight and all of a sudden you "kick steer"there is a second or two where it feels totally weightless, then harder, then the right resistance.

  • @GigaMinion

OK, it is really MINOR, it's not an outrageous feel, most probably won't notice, but if you feel t subtly it is absolutely there.

NO COMPARISON WHATSOEVER to the steering of the old 3 Series (E21 which I own, E30, E36 and E46 which I have all driven). You lack that immediacy, that sense of being directly connected with the whole car...

  • @alernest

and the old 3 series used the conventional hydraulic assisted steering systems?

  • @GigaMinion

Yep, if I'm not mistaken even the current M3 E92 has a conventional hydraulic system.

  • @alernest

alright, thanks man. I'll take your word for it.

I have a wild idea of building the chassis, suspension, and drive line for a fairly decent sedan probably, so just in case i do i'm checking into these.

So far, some of the shit i've come across are completely useless.

Examples are this steering system, hondas realtime AWD, and using stiff anti-roll bars over active suspension systems.

Still in the process of figuring out how active suspension systems work though... You know?

  • great!

  • 既可以保证低速时的灵活,又可以兼顾高速时的稳定,不错!

  • i will absolutely look for this on my next BMW

  • what BMW do you plan on getting next ? I want to get the X6

  • is it worth it

  • more safe at high, more convenience at low, more joy at drive.

  • BMW, just great
