Se do bheatha a bhean ba leanmhar! B'e ar gcreach tu bheith i ngeibhinn, Do dhuiche bhrea i seilbh meirleach 'S tu diolta leis na Ghallaibh. Chorus: Oro, se do bheatha 'bhaile! Oro, se do bheatha 'bhaile! Oro, se do bheatha 'bhaile! Anois ar theacht an tsamhraidh. Ta Grainne Mhaol ag teacht thar saile, Oglaigh armtha lei mar gharda; Gaeil iad fein 's ni Gaill na Spainnigh, 'S cuirfid siad ruaig ar Ghallaibh.
dude, where can i find the rest of this concert? lol i've seen almost every one of their DVDs but maybe this one isn't available on DVD? i've never seen this stuf before...
Is this the original tune? It sounds a lot like "What Do You Do With a Drunken Sailor." Please don't hate me. I know old tunes take on a mess of different lyrics, some better known in different places than other.
@ashesinthewax This version of the song was penned by Padraig Pearse in the early 20th century. The tune, however, belonged to an Irish song called Séarlas Óg, meaning Young Charles. The original Séarlas Óg dates back to the Jacobite Rising of 1745-1746. The tune was borrowed for "What Do You Do With A Drunken Sailor", although I am not sure whether Drunken Sailor came before or after the Padraig Pearse version. Both are amazing songs, though. Enjoy!

Germany has been lied to and lied about. The proof is all there and documented.
@nextlifearotti The BEST version of this song . . . . This stuff by the three tenors is too showy for my taste . . . too Broadway . . . too Hollywood . . . Not bad . . . just not to my taste . . .
@binkydonna It's a "Welcome Home" song about "Grace O'Malley," The Pirate Queen. Oh-ro You're welcome home, [3x] Now that summer's coming! Welcome oh woman who was so afflicted, It was our ruin that you were in bondage, Our fine land in the possession of thieves... And you sold to the foreigners! [Chorus] Gráinne O'Malley is coming over the sea, Armed warriors along with her as her guard, They are Irishmen, not foreigners nor Spanish... And they will rout the foreigners! [Chorus]

to be honest i think this is shite.Óró 'Sé do bheatha 'bhaile was the I.R.A song not for fucking dressed up rich show offs.Keep it in the pub not for the money makers.
Oh that An boc ar buille!!!!!!!!!!!! My goodness what singing! Could have hoped for a bit more "beat" from the orchestra there but the singers left me gasp for air......................... wow!
they used to make us sing this song in school in the mornings but the school was near the peace line in belfast the huns used to throw stones and everything at us but we sang louder and prouder.
I define trouble by the fact that its been nearly 100 years since the 1916 rising but they are still making it difficult for us to unify the isle in terms of stirring up trouble in the north.
oof, way too fast.

May it please the King of Miracles that we might see,
Although we may live for a week once after,
Gráinne Mhaol and a thousand warriors...
Dispersing the foreigners!

An puc ar buile really brings out their Tenor qualities. They really gotta stretch their vocal chords for that one.
