I'm using a 3DS for heart gold, since I don't have a ds lite. I changed the connection from wpa to wep, but it keeps saying no access point in range. Anyone know why?

@theking97ification Yes, you can find your answer on the nintendo website, but in short:

"Important! Nintendo DS Game Cards are only compatible with WEP security, and are not compatible with WPA security, even if you are playing them on a Nintendo DSi, Nintendo DSi XL, or Nintendo 3DS"

Change it back to WPA, because of the security!

hey im trying to get on wifi in a coffee shop that has a password but i dont know how to type in the password. it is intended for an internet browser where the password box just pops up and you type it in, but its not working. I tried typing it in wep but it didnt work. what am i doing wrong?

@flamingchucknorris I would ask the owner of the coffee shop or whoever most knows about the internet there if the access point actually is protected. It's most likely some sort of proxy you're on, and the only way to bypass a proxy is on an internet browser on the computer. From there, I don't think you can play online any DS system, even if you try the Internet Browser on the DSi/3DS.

@s2rikus2 WPA also uses a password, but it's a different format than WEP. You can still find the WPA in your router's security settings.

@TheSame111 The owner of the router (maybe McDonalds or Starbucks or others) will give you the WEP key. That is assigned by the owner of the router, and not Nintendo.
