what the hell is wrong with you people?? this song just raped my ears. dumbest song ive ever heard. only somebody like curtis hart would like this fuckin travesty.
that was just phenominal!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Always loved that song but your video addition should win some kind of prize--- call me I'd love to tell you in person that this is awesome 215-609-5017
George Nori played this the other night and I couldn't for the life of me think who it was, but that intro..the first 15 seconds cut thru me like a knife...a long-forgotten little gem of a song that we used to do Quaaluudes to...lol.
oh my God! I just discovered this song recently on V107.3 out of Cleveland...hard to believe that this is the same group who also gave us How Much I Feel and Biggest Part of ME...
@94cadillacfleetwood Ambrosia's first two albums are Classic Progressive Rock albums mixed an engineered by Alan Parsons. They were originally America's answer to Yes, King Crimson, and Genesis. Check out the rest of Ambrosia's Progressive Rock side here on youtube. "Time Waits For No One", "The Brunt", "Drink Of Water", "Somewhere I've Never Travelled" , "Life Beyond LA" and "Mama Frog".
One of my favorite songs of all time. Great video to accompany a great song. Being an atheist made me appreciate the fact you didn't go in a religious direction. Thanks.
That's funny you mention that. I was working on a compilation with that song. I once used "And you and I" for a friend. It turned out great. I did a collection of photos from their past. These things take time. Time is something I don't havew alot of unfotunately. :(
@eurolease24 thank you..you have a weird obsession with bridges as well..make a video with this intense effort..and I will give you effortless input...deal?..
Great Job !!!!! I seen them live in Grand Rapids, Michigan last month and they are still awesome. They no longer have David Pack, but the new guy that's been with them for 7 months is just as if not more talented.
Loved this song since I heard it back in the 70's, even more after I read Cat's Cradle. Vonnegut would be proud of Ambrosia. And bokonos everywhere. Thanks for the post Mr. Jones.
The editing seems quite busy- yes. The idea was to keep in complete sync with the song and relate to every aspect...as you probably already know..many thanks to all.
I will attempt to make another video with as much if not more...maybe "Blinded by the light" by Manfred Mann's Earth Band.
this is a piece of history , thank GOD for youtube. alot of 70's music style is forever lost to fast and cheap so-called modern music if you can call it that, I teach my kids to listen to this kind of insperation for all their musical needs.
@Shackamaxon Thanks for your comments. I had this video posted then U tube stopped it from running due to copyright infringements..go figure. I spend countless hours on this video, editing beyond my level of patience..and they cut it. My daughter showed me how to remove the infringement and here it is again..enjoy and keep the old music alive!
thank you. i was inspired to do this video all from a lady i met who i now am going to marry...40 hrs later , i was done while online in our time of meeting. she commented on every aspect of it...that just kept me going!
for some reason...people really like that chinese guy with the bad teeth...kinda ironic to the concept of saying chinese dentist...considering he has VERY BAD TEETH...lol
Yes, very nice song.Heard it for the first time only recently, very nice.Another nice Ambrosia song is:"Can't let a woman" from somewhere I've never travelled, maybe not this nice, but nice.Hope someone with taste posts it.
Then again...I'll buy the cd version sometime soon...of course...I don't have the 45 anymore but I watched the video of "Holding on to yesterday" once on tv...yes...only once...maybe someday... someone around youtube may have it and may share it....who knows...
Some people were fortunate enough to see and have the original lp...I went as far as getting the 45 version of this song...when I heard the full version on the radio...well that was something!!...Ambrosia's first album...recorded by Alan Parsons...nominaded for a grammy award so it's been said...I still think if they would've decided to keep going on the track they were they probably would've created great songs...
Great song and video... I remember buying this album back in the '70's. I listened to this song probably 100 times before I even played the other side of the album. Might not have been their "best", or "most popular" hit but its by far my most favorite song of theirs...
When Ambrosia was a great creative into progressive rock band...fresh... full of great arrangements...wonderful lyrics..that selftitled first album...I still wonder what made them change and why they didn't remain as they were...just like other bands that survived the test of time...They sure had enough talent to get there...it brought tears out of me to watch this slide show together with this song...
thank you guitriff for your comment...it brought tears to my eyes reading your last comment...this song, to me, is their absolute best. i listened to this song since my teens and it deserved a recognition. what i did was only deserving of their talent..but just the same..thanks..a hell of a lot
