there are some simalairies to unchained, but it isnt a rip off. things are going to be modified to make new riffs. theres only 6 strings and 23-24 frets on a guitar, and millions of songs. things are going to be repeated. great cover though.

i've been playing guitar for 15 years, it's totally the same groove as unchained. i just had never seen it played or really analyzed it before. the intro and when he goes to the notes during the verse, it's totally the same groove. might be different notes, but you can tell that warren demartini or robbin crosby definitely ripped off edward vh

@cbarrett34 I definitely see similarities in the verse riff to Unchained. However, I think the intro riff to Lay it Down from Ratt is more similar to intro to Unchained. Both have low E string tuned down to D, and have the classic 80s riffing where you do a pull off from a 4th (interval note) to a 3rd. The guy here does it at :12. You can't go wrong by adding that in any 80s style song :)

Yes I learned the main guitar solo, but no I did not learn the solo at the end of the song. I didn't feel it was necessary since the main one is the one everyone remembers. What I did at the end was totally different than the actual recording.

I personally don't care for it. The only thing it's useful for is lowering the pitch far enough that you can fine tune to drop D without having to loosen the nut. It has never actually dropped to D and stayed in tune. I always have to retune when I use it, which kind of defeats the purpose. But perhaps mine just wasn't setup correctly.
