It looks to be you’re taking Psalm 49 out of context, it looks to be implying men in sin can’t redeem. Adam lost his life, a perfect man, to sin. Adam had chosen not to live without sin and died. Jesus proved a perfect man could live without sin, Jesus as a man lost his life without sin to ransom us from sin.
if jesus is god then he would be paying the ransom price to himself if he was god and was really defrauding you, but as jesus is not god but the son of god would mean that jesus was sent to earth and born as a perfect man, the second adam, there has only ever been two perfect men who ever lived, adam and jesus,so the ransom could only be poaid by a perfect human, not god in the flesh as this would be cheating, there has never been one person who could pay the ransom as ALL are imperfect humans
PSALM 49v7 is talking about that no man ever could pay the ramsom needed ok, this is correct because you could put every man woman and child on those scales and that would not pay the ransom because every one on that scale was born imperfect so could not repay the ransom, the ransom price was A PERFECT MAN,adam was perfect and so was jesus, everyone else is imperfect and they are not qaulified to pay the ransom price of a perfc et human,so the bible is correct not one IMPERFECT person can pay it
you go to neither heaven or hell, wrong, all die, eve was perfect she was created perfect and would of lived forver as perfect people dont die,so satan the serpent said she would not die if she disobeyed god,so eve and adam ate the fruit. did they die in that day, no you say, but you forget that day was 1000 years PSALM 90v4 1000 years= 1 day...adam died when he was 930 years old, so god was right and satan the serpent was wrong, the soul can die EZEKIEL18v4 says the soul that sins will die
Hi Newage, I appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions re: your beliefs. I would now like to ask, why must we wait for this "fulfillment of the times" to end in order for God to end Death? Why not stop physical death for people believing in Christ now so they can have eternity while everyone else who rejects Christ dies unless they decide to believe as well?
Ive been answering you as best I can, and you dont seem to be able to come to grips with it. I'll give you the final answer on the matter: Because He is God, and we arent. He does as he pleases, if you dont agree with it, research it, pray about, and search for satisfying answers. Scripture is more than clear as to why physical death has not stoped yet, and it doesnt bother me because I know upon death I will be at home with the Lord.(2COR 5:1-10) Awaiting the resurrection of my body.
Hi Newage, if I understand you correctly you are saying these things must happen before God says "No more Death" and at that point, physical death will stop. Why can't he stop Death now and then choose the elect, preach, etc. etc.?
Ive answered this question already, because the fulfillment of the times have not come yet. For God to stop physical death now for everyone would be God giving everyone eternal life, regardless of their rejection or acceptance of Christ. Eternal life is a gift for those who believe in the Son of God, it would make no sense for God to stop death now, and then have the gospel preached. Why would anyone believe if they have already received the gift of immortality?
Hi Newage, thank you for your answer. I would then like to know, since God is all knowing; why doesn't he already choose the elect, bring in the ones he already knows will repent, and preach the good news to all when they stand before the throne of God (thus ending everything now)?
Simple, because God is all knowing, he has already chosen us from before the foundation of the earth to be elect in Christ Jesus.(Eph 1:4,5) They are already chosen! However, Eph 1:10 says that all things will be under the Head, who is Christ "when the times will have reached their fulfillment". God has a plan, dont think he is slow respecting his promise. "Bear in mind that our Lord's patience means salvation"!(2 Peter 3:9,15)
Thanks Newage. Now my question is this: given that Christ has already died, conquered the world, overcome evil, etc. etc., why hasn't God already ended Death and put an end to this sinful world? What would you say he's waiting for?
Well I wouldnt say Jesus overcame the world in the sense that he is its sole King, because it is evident that Satan is still the prince of this age.(1 John 5:19) Through his death & resurrection we have the hope of eternal life as believers, while we are in the light, the world continues in darkness. What he is waiting is for the final number of the elect are sealed.(Rev 7:3) And for all to consider Christ and come to repentance.(2 Peter 3:9) The Gospel must also be preached.(Mtt 24:14))
Physical death is obviously not what Jesus was talking about in John 11, what he was refering to was the hope of believers being with Christ upon death, which is the seperation of the body, soul and spirit. Now, the resurrection, when Christ returns and the dead are raised, is the reuniting of the body, soul and spirit. Physical death will continue to happen until God says "Death is no more!"
Hi Newage et. al., appreciate your video. I do have one question I have ben seeking an answer to. If Christ already paid the ransom, why are we still dying?
Great question. Jesus once said "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?"(John 11:26,26) Through the ransom, we can enjoy eternal life NOW. Hebrews 9:28 says "so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him." When he returns, death is over.
God always does more than necessary for us, it's in his nature to do so. He does not want to "just" save us, i.e. bring us into a position of spiritual safety, but to actually HAVE US AS FRIENDS! How superfluous is that? Infinitely superfluous, but love is not content with only fulfilling the minimum which is necessary, but wants to bless, bless and keep on blessing. The key to all of this is being born again. We all can and must be born again. Don't settle for anything less!
To QuestioningJW, I believe your mistaken. Brian has found the truth that the word of God is interpreted by the Holy Spirit, which he now has. The Bible will now verse by verse defend itself. He, to the glory of God has earned this confidence you speak of. Praise the LORD.
hey JWinCT..when you said he turned his back on the truth...your meaning the organization, right? Im trying to find a scripture - i fyou dont mind that Jesus said to FOLLOW others and NOT HIM...so if he says he is following Jesus and Jesus is the TRUTH..tell me how is it that any JW can make claims of being in the truth - when they dont even know when they had it. History has shown JW have changed their teachings - so WHAT IS TRUTH? obviously not the organization..but JESUS..
The book of John has had the truth for about 1900 years. John 5:37-40 makes clear what is wrong with the WT: "And the Father who sent me has himself testified concerning me. You have never heard his voice nor seen his form, nor does his word dwell in you, for you do not believe the one he sent. You diligently study the Scriptures because you think that by them you possess eternal life. These are the Scriptures that testify about me, yet you refuse to come to me to have life". John 37-40 NIV.
Of course the NWT corrupts this scripture to say the opposite. Consider this please: When Paul sent all those letters of the New Testament, did he send a magazine along with them to explain what he meant. The Watch Tower makes JW's out to be Bible students with very poor grades. God does want Exclusive devotion-to Him, not some worldly Satan influenced organization.
AMEN!!...but according to JW teaching..it went in DARK AGES after the death of the apostles...only to revive again thru Russell.. how many years ..easily 1800 years...YEAH RIGHT..
I hear that. In 1900 years, Jehovah could not find any worthy enough for heaven. Then, through a publisher named the watchtower, he found 144,000 in just over 50 years from 1874 to 1935. Remember the generation that wouldn't die? Oh yeah, forget about that 1914 thing or 1915, so on and so on.
you have to remember that one has to go through a little of DETOXING from their teachings. Its an internal battle..I know this cause its take me YEARS to fight against EVERYTHING I believe..So now he has two different beliefs in him - so there is a battle...Let him be...but I do agree with you..but thats the same thing even a NON JW converting over to JW will struggle with at first.
Wow you completely lost me when you said Jesus is God. I didn't realize how astray you were until you said that. Think about it really, you know in your heart that Jesus is not Jehovah.
I know in my heart he is Jehovah(Lord). In fact Romans 10:9-13 says you must to be saved! "That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved...For there is no difference between Jew and Gentile—the same Lord is Lord of all and richly blesses all who call on him, for, "Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord(JEHOVAH) will be saved." Jesus is Jehovah, the Only name by which we are saved!(Acts 4:12)
It is because God gives glory to those who love him. Having God bestow honor or glory on a person doesn't in any way shape or form make them God. The argument is ludicrous.
1 John 4:12-16. God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are said to dwell within believers through the new birth. The glory is given to believers not because they are man, but because they have Christ/Father/Spirit living within them. The glory is given to the Spirit believers receive at the new birth, not unto themselves.
A: I disagree but it doesn't even make a difference how you look at it. As long as you agree that someone can have glory from God without being YHWH all of a sudden than the issue is settled.
Acts 2:36 is a great Scripture. Do you know why? Not because it says what YOU imply it says, but because of what Peter intended it to say. It wasnt Peter, Matthew, it wasnt the Scribes and Pharisees or even the nation of Israel who made Jesus Lord & Messiah. No, but it was God the Father who made this Jesus both LORD & MESSIAH; This same Jesus who was crucified in their midst! This does not diminsh Christ Godship, rather it exalts it and solidify's it.
One thing I have asked other JW here...and its the simple question - so dont be offended. JW use the name of Jehovah over and over again..Right? right..How many times did Jesus say the divine name while preaching in the GOSPEL? think this out very carefully...I admit that the divine name YHWH was removed but never from the Hebrew manuscripts - so we KNOW for sure it was..but the same cant be said for the GREEK manuscripts..no proof..once again..Grab your NWT and count how many times?
"If the wages of sin is eternal punishment in Hell, then Jesus would have to be eternally punished if in fact He died for my sins. But the Bible says the wages of sin is death which is exactly what Jesus did--died. So how can you say people will be eternally tortured in Hell? Is Jesus presently being eternally tortured in place of those who accepted Him as Lord?
Exacly, Romans 6:23 says that the wages of sin is death, which is eternal seperation from God in the lake of fire.(Rev 14:10,11) When Jesus was on the Cross he bore the wrath of God for us, he didnt just lay on that cross, he was Judged by God the Father and became sin on our behalf.(2 Cor 5:21) Jesus did indeed take on the hell that you deserve as a sinner on the cross. But Jesus conquered the grave and hades and has the keys of hell and is no longer subject to the grave.(Rev 1:17,18)
"Infinite punishment for finite crimes just doesn't seem just."
"I could never torture people endlessly, especially my own children. How can you say that God will do that to His children? This seems hideous. You make God look like a monster worse than Hitler, not a loving Father Who would even die for His enemies!"
How can you compare the holliness and Judgement of God to mortal man? Jesus said "Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels."(Matt 25:41) Luke 12:5 says "But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after the killing of the body, has power to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him." Tell me, is Jesus lying? What does Revelation 14:10,11 say concerning the wrath of God and the condition of the wicked?
If Hell is real and describes a real place, why does the English word "Hell" come from a pagan source instead of the ancient Hebrew writings of the Bible? Why is the word "Hell" not found in the Jew's Bible which is the Christian's Old Testament? Furthermore, the word "Hell" has completely disappeared from the Old Testament Scriptures in most leading Bibles. Why? Because the best scholarship demands it.
The reason the term has "disappeared" in contemporary English translations is because "hell" has gradually become associated more with Gehenna than with Sheol/Hades. No one is burning in the lake of fire... yet. And this leads in to the answer to your first question...
How can you say burning someone alive forever is "just" or "fair" for everyone who hasn't accepted Jesus Christ? Even we humans fit the punishment to the crime. According to you, Christians, people are destined to be burned in Hell whether we are bad or not. Just being born into this world is grounds for being endlessly tortured. You say the punishment is the same regardless of the number of sins committed or how bad they were. This is not justice--this is insanity!"
Of course you are assuming that people can be "good" when Romans 3:10-12 clearly says that no one is righteous not even one! There is none who seek God, all have sinned and fallen short. You brake a few laws in America you have to pay the fee or go to jail. You have broken God's law and so you must pay. Just so happens to be you can never pay the fee on your own, only in the perfect sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
Scripture can't cancel scripture and the scriptures are clear. Jesus was the last Adam! Your undstanding of that verse in Psalms contradicts 1 Corinthians 15:45 - It is even so written: The first man Adam became a living soul. The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.
Do you believe the hebrew scriptures contradict the greek? I don't, so there is only one conclusion; the scripture in Psalms is not refering to a perfect man, like Jesus.
Since only a "human nature" died and not the "fully God" portion of Jesus then I can only assume his ransom,it being only a "body" and all,and not "God" .isn't good enough for you.Not only that..you have to throw God's definition of death out the window to believe Jesus was alive while he was dead.He didn't die for trinitarians at all,not acc to God's def. of death. That is a seriously dangerous belief.
Glad to see you making videos again brother! One thing that is so absent from JW theology is the propitiatory nature of the atonement. For them, it isn't personal. Each of us pay for our sins at death and the ransom buys us eternal life. But in Christianity, Christ paid for our sins *personally* for each of those who put their faith in Him.
JWinCT, You should be disfellowshipped. It is against the society's policy for you to even be talking to a so called APOSTATE. If this isn't true, how about giving me just your 1st name and the number to your Kingdom Hall. You are a hypocrite. Jehovah is not pleased with you.
his videos are very misleading, he says no man can pay the ransom, this is correct but he forgot to tell you that no IMPERFECT man can pay the ransom, only one man who ever lived was quilified to pay that ra
nsom and that was jesus because he was born perfect, not imperfect like every man born since ada, jesus was the last adam, the one and only perfect man ever to live so you were mislead by this person
@judgerutherford I am very confused! Romans 6:23 says the wages sin pays is death. If the faithful servants will never die, such as those who are spared in Har-Magedon, how is their sin ransom paid?
REVELATION 7v14 ” And he said to me: “These are the ones that come out of the great tribulation, and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb, these survivors are still alive as humans and not in heaven, they are the only ones who will never die if they remain loyal to jehovah, the ransom was paid for ALL mankind alive and dead they survive though the blood of jesus ransom and will have the prospect of living forever and never having to die as the ransom has paid
@judgerutherford Thank you for the quick reply and your help. I was also reading Romans 6:6-7. The NWT says we who die have been aquitted of our sin. The paradise book says Jesus was Adams equal and therefore only covering Adams sin? I guess I applied my own incorrect logic there. Reading the whole chapter 6 does go along with what you and this guy are saying. It is because of Jesus' death we are saved. This being our gift. This is good news!
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
Right, no man can pay the ransom implying that we can do nothing by ourselves. Nothing in that passage says that the Messiah is not a qualified ransom. In fact, Isaiah 53 makes it clear what the Messiah would do. Nothing in the Bible says that the human Messiah's sacrifice is not enough, that's just your unacceptence of the prophecy and fulfillment of it.

Hi Newage et. al., appreciate your video. I do have one question I have ben seeking an answer to. If Christ already paid the ransom, why are we still dying?
Aaron2895 2 years ago
Great question. Jesus once said "I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die. Do you believe this?"(John 11:26,26) Through the ransom, we can enjoy eternal life NOW. Hebrews 9:28 says "so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many people; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him." When he returns, death is over.

Jesus is not YHWH just because he is called lord. Lord is used dozens of times in scripture to mean a human master.
However you define it, Jesus' status as lord was something conferred on him by the Father:
"Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Christ." - Acts 2:36
Q: So God turned Jesus into YHWH because he was an obedient servant? How come he wasn't YHWH before that?
bandaidmafia 2 years ago
A. YHWH shares His glory with no one. (Is 42:8; Is 48:11)
Jesus will return in the glory of the Father. (Matt 16:27)
Jesus will return in His own glory. (Matt 25:31)
Jesus is glorified by the Father. (John 11:4)
"And now, O Father, glorify Me together with Yourself, with the glory which I had with You before the world was." (John 17:5)
Jesus always shared the glory of the Father, whom God shares with no one but God!
rachelbinto 2 years ago
The same glory that Jesus receives from the Father he gives to the disciples:
And the glory which thou hast given me I have given unto them; that they may be one, even as we are one - John 17:22
Q: Are the disciples divine because they possess the same glory that was given to Christ by the Father?
bandaidmafia 2 years ago
A. Is that because of who the disciples are or because of who lives within them?(John 14:23)
rachelbinto 2 years ago
It is because God gives glory to those who love him. Having God bestow honor or glory on a person doesn't in any way shape or form make them God. The argument is ludicrous.
bandaidmafia 2 years ago
1 John 4:12-16. God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit are said to dwell within believers through the new birth. The glory is given to believers not because they are man, but because they have Christ/Father/Spirit living within them. The glory is given to the Spirit believers receive at the new birth, not unto themselves.
rachelbinto 2 years ago
A: I disagree but it doesn't even make a difference how you look at it. As long as you agree that someone can have glory from God without being YHWH all of a sudden than the issue is settled.
bandaidmafia 2 years ago
Acts 2:36 is a great Scripture. Do you know why? Not because it says what YOU imply it says, but because of what Peter intended it to say. It wasnt Peter, Matthew, it wasnt the Scribes and Pharisees or even the nation of Israel who made Jesus Lord & Messiah. No, but it was God the Father who made this Jesus both LORD & MESSIAH; This same Jesus who was crucified in their midst! This does not diminsh Christ Godship, rather it exalts it and solidify's it.
Newagegamer3018 2 years ago
A) Brian, I agree with your comment except for the last sentence which makes no sense to me.
B) If Jesus is YHWH and 'lord' means YHWH than according to you YHWH turned YHWH into YHWH.
Q1: If Jesus was made YHWH than he wasn't originally YHWH. Do you believe that?
Q2: Why did Jesus have to be made YHWH? Shouldn't he have been eternally YHWH?
Q3: If YHWH exalted Jesus and made him YHWH what was he before that happened?

One thing I have asked other JW here...and its the simple question - so dont be offended. JW use the name of Jehovah over and over again..Right? right..How many times did Jesus say the divine name while preaching in the GOSPEL? think this out very carefully...I admit that the divine name YHWH was removed but never from the Hebrew manuscripts - so we KNOW for sure it was..but the same cant be said for the GREEK manuscripts..no proof..once again..Grab your NWT and count how many times?

A) Disagreeing with this video doesn't automatically make me a JW.
[How many times...]
B) Zero. I am pretty sure that by that point in history no one used it.

DontKnowWhere2Turn 2 years ago
Exacly, Romans 6:23 says that the wages of sin is death, which is eternal seperation from God in the lake of fire.(Rev 14:10,11) When Jesus was on the Cross he bore the wrath of God for us, he didnt just lay on that cross, he was Judged by God the Father and became sin on our behalf.(2 Cor 5:21) Jesus did indeed take on the hell that you deserve as a sinner on the cross. But Jesus conquered the grave and hades and has the keys of hell and is no longer subject to the grave.(Rev 1:17,18)
Newagegamer3018 2 years ago
"Infinite punishment for finite crimes just doesn't seem just."
"I could never torture people endlessly, especially my own children. How can you say that God will do that to His children? This seems hideous. You make God look like a monster worse than Hitler, not a loving Father Who would even die for His enemies!"
DontKnowWhere2Turn 2 years ago
How can you compare the holliness and Judgement of God to mortal man? Jesus said "Depart from me, you who are cursed, into the eternal fire prepared for the devil and his angels."(Matt 25:41) Luke 12:5 says "But I will show you whom you should fear: Fear him who, after the killing of the body, has power to throw you into hell. Yes, I tell you, fear him." Tell me, is Jesus lying? What does Revelation 14:10,11 say concerning the wrath of God and the condition of the wicked?
Newagegamer3018 2 years ago
If Hell is real and describes a real place, why does the English word "Hell" come from a pagan source instead of the ancient Hebrew writings of the Bible? Why is the word "Hell" not found in the Jew's Bible which is the Christian's Old Testament? Furthermore, the word "Hell" has completely disappeared from the Old Testament Scriptures in most leading Bibles. Why? Because the best scholarship demands it.
DontKnowWhere2Turn 2 years ago
The reason the term has "disappeared" in contemporary English translations is because "hell" has gradually become associated more with Gehenna than with Sheol/Hades. No one is burning in the lake of fire... yet. And this leads in to the answer to your first question...
IchthysGuy 2 years ago
How can you say burning someone alive forever is "just" or "fair" for everyone who hasn't accepted Jesus Christ? Even we humans fit the punishment to the crime. According to you, Christians, people are destined to be burned in Hell whether we are bad or not. Just being born into this world is grounds for being endlessly tortured. You say the punishment is the same regardless of the number of sins committed or how bad they were. This is not justice--this is insanity!"
DontKnowWhere2Turn 2 years ago
Of course you are assuming that people can be "good" when Romans 3:10-12 clearly says that no one is righteous not even one! There is none who seek God, all have sinned and fallen short. You brake a few laws in America you have to pay the fee or go to jail. You have broken God's law and so you must pay. Just so happens to be you can never pay the fee on your own, only in the perfect sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
Newagegamer3018 2 years ago
Scripture can't cancel scripture and the scriptures are clear. Jesus was the last Adam! Your undstanding of that verse in Psalms contradicts 1 Corinthians 15:45 - It is even so written: The first man Adam became a living soul. The last Adam became a life-giving spirit.
Do you believe the hebrew scriptures contradict the greek? I don't, so there is only one conclusion; the scripture in Psalms is not refering to a perfect man, like Jesus.

A "human nature" devoid of Jesus himself cannot save anyone.I do hope people will consider that.Sincerely.
howdytheresir 2 years ago 2
Since only a "human nature" died and not the "fully God" portion of Jesus then I can only assume his ransom,it being only a "body" and all,and not "God" .isn't good enough for you.Not only that..you have to throw God's definition of death out the window to believe Jesus was alive while he was dead.He didn't die for trinitarians at all,not acc to God's def. of death. That is a seriously dangerous belief.

Keep on studying more :), It's good to look in scriptures and remember use scriptures to explain scriptures and less philosophy of man as possible.
Philosophy can be good, but if use wrong or out of place problem will occur.
One plain "Thus said" the scriptures is worth more one thousand philosophy.
Keep studying and posting videos I look forward to watching them and reading what you present.
May peace, truth and love be with you, as you give Glory to the Father, through his Son.

Glad to see you making videos again brother! One thing that is so absent from JW theology is the propitiatory nature of the atonement. For them, it isn't personal. Each of us pay for our sins at death and the ransom buys us eternal life. But in Christianity, Christ paid for our sins *personally* for each of those who put their faith in Him.

his videos are very misleading, he says no man can pay the ransom, this is correct but he forgot to tell you that no IMPERFECT man can pay the ransom, only one man who ever lived was quilified to pay that ra
nsom and that was jesus because he was born perfect, not imperfect like every man born since ada, jesus was the last adam, the one and only perfect man ever to live so you were mislead by this person
judgerutherford 1 year ago
@judgerutherford I am very confused! Romans 6:23 says the wages sin pays is death. If the faithful servants will never die, such as those who are spared in Har-Magedon, how is their sin ransom paid?
thardin69 1 year ago
REVELATION 7v14 ” And he said to me: “These are the ones that come out of the great tribulation, and they have washed their robes and made them white in the blood of the Lamb, these survivors are still alive as humans and not in heaven, they are the only ones who will never die if they remain loyal to jehovah, the ransom was paid for ALL mankind alive and dead they survive though the blood of jesus ransom and will have the prospect of living forever and never having to die as the ransom has paid
judgerutherford 1 year ago
@judgerutherford Thank you for the quick reply and your help. I was also reading Romans 6:6-7. The NWT says we who die have been aquitted of our sin. The paradise book says Jesus was Adams equal and therefore only covering Adams sin? I guess I applied my own incorrect logic there. Reading the whole chapter 6 does go along with what you and this guy are saying. It is because of Jesus' death we are saved. This being our gift. This is good news!

This comment has received too many negative votes show
Right, no man can pay the ransom implying that we can do nothing by ourselves.
