  • I am watching one of your videos and look past you. There is a thin wall conduit clamp attached to the bottom rail.

Is your green house supported with thin wall conduit? What size looks like 1/2. do you have to bend the conduit first and how do you do it? Or is it heaver tubing?

I enjoy your videos very much. Thank You

  • @SidneyBou Yea, its 1 inch pipe in the ground, with 3/4 hoops that go inside it. The hoops were bent on a homemade jig. They aren't all equal, but close enough for me. I would go with at least 1 inch for the hoops, knowing what I know now. The 3/4 is just a bit small. Thanks Sidney.

  • Any updates to the planting?

  • @EskebeJoe Well, I did better the second time around. The plants were decent, and should have done just fine. But I didn't give them the attention they needed. They still grew to 4-6 ft tall, but very spindly. They should have been pruned early on. I found out that theres a big difference between growing vegetables, and growing trees ! I'm gonna try them one more time though.

  • @mhpgardener How long did they take to get to 4-6 feet? When transplaned them to a larger pot, how tall were they? I'm growing Moringa Olefiera seeds, and have 6" sprouts after 3 weeks.

  • @EskebeJoe It took all spring and summer. They look pitiful right now, nothing but a tall stem. We had a cool spell a couple weeks ago, low 50's, and most of the leaves fell off. I forgot they didn't like cool weather. Sounds like yours are doing good. They just didnt want to go for me.

  • @mhpgardener I have a 5 foot tree someone gave last year, it was about 18" in a 1 gallon pot back then. During the last winter, I thought it died, but it came back. According to most sources it's a region 9 to 11 tollerant, but I think they mean for mature trees. Which I've seen here in So. California. I think it does better in warmer climates. I'm just hoping mines can last the winter until next Spring.

  • Awesome video. I have been drying the leaves, then putting them in a blender for a grinder. This plants rocks!. GBU!

  • @marthale7 I'm gonna give them another go. The first ones just haven't done so well, but I think its a case of operator error! I'll try to do better this time. It really is a unique plant. And the leaves are not bad tasting, kind of a peanut taste. I saw your page, really cool videos too. The compost pile is something I've been pondering for awhile.Thx ! ;-)

  • A few tips on planting since I saw the problems you had. Peat is acidic and very heavy. Holds a lot of water. perlite would have been perfect to add to the mix. It is porous and allows for oxygen exchange in the potting medium. With a seed that large, bark would probably be a good choice too.Vermiculite absorbs moisture, making the mix even heavier. There are different grades of it and some has asbestos in it naturally. Vermiculite should always be purchased as horticultural grade.

  • @horticultureandhomes Yea, I totally screwed that up, trying to follow the instructions that came with the seeds. The did much better after I repotted them. And the second attempt at seed starting was much better. Its on the job training for me, learning on the fly ! Just good experience. As I say, whats the worst that can happen?..the plant dies ! So what, grow another one and keep going !

  • Hey I also just purchased some from the same link. Like you said, she gave me more than what I asked for. I also bought both species as well. I'm growing them inside my apartment with a plant light. My friend's moringa grew faster than bamboo inside his apartment. Anyhow, I'm looking forward to speaking to you about your progress. Be well friend.

  • @mindround Thx, like bamboo huh? geezzz I wonder if they are "reaching" for the light, making them shoot up so fast. Mine are doing much better, but still only about 5-6 inches tall.

  • Keeps us updated Boddy. Those plants are looking good in the greenhouse.....Donald

  • Two thumbs up! Our African variety is just about to come up, man it's so exciting.

  • @4GreenEarth2 Thx guys....I'm plenty curious myself !

  • Good Luck to you Mr.Bobby I have never heard of it but it's like my Granny say "The Lord can make a whole new world out of just what we don't know"....lol...

God Bless you and Yours And have a Blessed growing season Sir!!!!

  • @Marlania1 Amen to that, your Granny was a very wise lady. Thx for the support, and I'll be keeping an eye on those raised beds of yours !
