Its a hexacopter or similar flying aircraft. Radio controlled and capable of being programmed like a drone, its a $1500 to $2500 product that you can fly around like a RC plane but without the runway requirement. Motors are electric so it would be very quiet. Do a search for hexacopter here on youtube and you will see one demo'd.

hey. me and my friend were just staring at the sky and noticed 3 different odd objects in the sky that kept blinking in odd patterns and moving in all directions, but yet staying in the same area and going back to the center of where it started. it looks as if its in the richmond area. or at least in that general direction. ironically there is a military base in richmond. soooo, we googled it, came upon this and were quite intrigued to know that others have seen them in the richmond area.

I am going to call this a tent caught up in the jet stream. It sounds crazy but search "Flying tents" on youtube and you find that at almost every festival there has been a time when the wind caught up a tent and it hovered for sometimes an hour. check it out.

After a much closer look at the video, this object appears to alter between a star shape and a triangle. It also appears to have a dome on top and a cylinder on the bottom of the craft. It has characteristics similar to the popular Haiti UFO as well.
