  • Halfway through this movie, Christian Bale's character Demetrius turns around and tells Helena that she's fucking unprofessional..

  • A great movie,Shakespeare would have been proud how this was portrayed.

  • @anniegreen69 lol thanks but its too late. i got a 1 on my essaY.

  • gosh video quality sucked in the 90's

  • omfg! shakespeare is my lover!

  • what is it with the 90's and shakespheare?

  • I hate shakespear, it makes me want to kill myself

  • @sackomatik then why did you search for this trailer into youtube? seems a bit pointless.....

  • This was the play at my camp this summer. At first we were all very disappointed and wanted to drop out, since all of us were 16 who HATE shakespeare. I was Helena, and Im so happy I did it. This is the best play I've ever been in! It's honestly so much fun!

  • what is the title of the theme played in this trailer

  • @fredericktaruc The Flower Duet.

  • where is the song for this trailer?

  • we have to do this play for English

    BORING

  • @humaira1998

Go sick if you don't want to do it, stop moaning!!

  • @humaira1998 Unfortunately, school systems in every country where English is the native language can't get it into their collective brains that Shakespeare is NOT for children. I hope that some day, when you're grown up, you'll realise how beautiful this play is, and how glorious the use of our language is in it. But until that time, you and 99.999% of all children will find Shakespeare "BORING".

  • @Aussiemarco Sadly true. And a large percentage of grown adults still hold on to the beliefs they forged in school that anything written by Shakespeare is boring, which is a true shame. But I think the fault lies in the teaching method. People must remember that Will wrote at a time when over 85% of the population were illiterate. His plays were not meant to be read, they were written to be SEEN, and it is then that they come alive, on the live stage (or film), not a dusty book.

  • @Aussiemarco I'm guessing that I'm .0001% that likes Shakespeare as a "child"?

  • @things2400 Make it .0002% because I am in love with Shakespeare as a "child" too

  • get a dick play some cod

  • i hate this play

  • @Bladeakilla christian bale is the greatest actor alive scrub and COD is the gayest game alive

  • How off-putting! Americans are perpetually mauling and mangling Shakespeare - from 1935 until today. Where are the British versions of AMND?

  • i remember havin to study this in school, shittist film ever. Its pure turd with a cherry on top

  • Comment removed

  • @snapzish Studing it now its sooooo crap its about as crap as a spicy shit

  • @Bladeakilla

Why you watching a shit movie about a shit play then idiot, dummy!

  • I'm so excited! Me and my theatre group are going to perform this play and i get to play Hermia! :D

  • We are studying the play in class and the teacher decided to let us watch the movie. Everybody decided to mock the movie by shouting scandal or perv, it was really quite comedic for us. It's alright.

  • what is it with the nineties and shakespheare? we have midsummer's night dream, much ado about nothing, romeo and juliet? what?

  • @kilalarockssocks Theres more 2 Hamlet films 1990 - 1996 , Richard III 1995 , Twelth Night 1995 , Othello 1994 all made in the 90s and Also Henry V was 1989 and Shakespreare in love was made in 1998.

  • At my school were doing the last of our 3 performances today! I'm Lysander

  • The thing I like about Shakespeare is how everything gets a bit confusing and all goes wrong. In this one it turns out right but his tragedies are also good. Does this movie actually use the Olden English?

  • To night me and my theater group are going to perform this play! :D

  • Shakespeare is quite an inspiring creature -nod.nod-

  • Were reading it at our school, and im helena. I cant wait to watch this :)

  • Sorry but this was kind of terrible to me.

they had modern bikes with lights installed on it in the 19th century?!?! D:

  • I'm doing this show at my school, it such a great tale.

  • Haha I really want to see this. I get to read for Puck and Hermia in my class (I'm obviously a chick, but I called Puck at the start XD) and I can't wait to see the movie. :D

  • helena is divineeee :)

  • Geez where can I find this movie? No stores sell it! Do they? Is it streaming on netflix?

  • i'm doing this in my school and i got the part of hermia but i can't seem to find where they might sell the movie

  • dude we're watching this in my theatre class

ooooh I love it! Except we had to watch the scene where the guy was naked about five times which was....awkward -.-

  • @BobbalinavsDave LOL us too!

  • I love this play. I am doing this for my school and I am Bottom! :D

  • Does anyone know the second song played in the trailer? Not the aria/flower duet, but the song that picks up at about 22 seconds?

  • wait... why are they wearing english clothes when they are in Athens?? im confused...

  • @TheIndieRocker4Ever I don't understand either!

  • I love how Christian Bale isn't even introduced haha

  • @chloethatkaratekid and yet he won an Oscar a few days go.

  • @chloethatkaratekid who the fk is chrisian bale????

  • @Bladeakilla Christian Bale is the actor who plays Demetrius in MidSummer's Night Dream, He's also Batman in the Dark Knight and Batman begins,Laurie in Little Women, John Connor in Terminator Salvation, Dan Evans in 3:10 to Yuma, Dicky Eklund in The Fighter (in which he won an Oscar), Alfred Borden in The Prestige, Melvin Purvis in Public Enemies, John Rolfe in The New World, "Cowboy" in Newsies, and there's plenty more.....I think that may anser your question.

  • @ChristandI45 Haha ! You're really fan of Christian Bale, aren't you ? ^^

  • @TheAllisP Yes I am! ^^

  • we don't even do schoolplays --'

  • I was in the play when I was a Freshman in High school. I was as Mustardseed and one of the attendents of Hippolyta. I only wanted to do that play because I heard about this 1999 movie version of the play and thought I'm in. Then after I was in the play, I saved the script and rented A Midsummer Night's Dream, enjoyed it, and it was delightful.

  • In drama club I'm playing Hermia

  • I love this adaptation; in my class we were watching some horrible version of this from the seventies, and when we started this I was so happy. The fact that they have bikes though, still bothers me.

  • Im reading this book its so hard :(

  • I'm playing Helena in my school play :)

  • I'm-a play Bottom in the school play:D

  • Very beautiful :)

  • Best adaptation EVER!

  • i'm hermia >:)

  • A wonderful movie.

  • thumbs up if your playing helena!

  • i'm preferrin it monday at school

  • Michelle Pfeiffer sucks. She is nothing but a disgraceful evil bitch. ):

  • @TheAllcroft No she's just a really good actress who happens to get cast in roles where she plays an evil bitch. She's ACTING, so unless you happen to know her personally, your comment is a bit unjustified. Who else could have played Titania that well?

  • @brontron33 Uma Thurman, Julie Andrews, Kristin Chenoweth and Gillian Anderson and I did meet Michelle as a little boy and she was very rude to me and I'm not joking

  • @TheAllcroft are you on crack? michelle pfeifer is not only extremely beautiful but also amazingly gifted !!

  • almost two Batmans, Kevin Kine turned down the role for the Burton film.

  • I would really like to watch this! We're doing this play at school, and I'm Titania! Michelle Pfeifer looks beautiful as Titania!

  • @ekeiram00 Snap.

  • weird

  • i like this play. i enjoyed watching this and also reading the book.

  • whats the song that plays in the begining of the tralier???

  • @LazyDaisyxo It's called "The Flower Duet." The music was a bit of a remake from a French opera. It was done in 1989 for a British Airways commercial; at the time, one of the most expensive commercials ever made.

  • I love this movie and the play so much! At our school we are acting it out now and I'm Helena =D. So many people were like coming up to me and saying they hated my character

  • i watched it 2day, and it was alot bettr than this, nor anyothers because the it had humor, and the actors were young, 15-20...hot...

  • This was the first Shakespeare Iecer read. I still love it, and appreciate it all - especially the language - more now I'm not 11 :)

  • howcome this is always in a school play...? i like the story and all, but there are so many other options...

  • im lysander im my school play and im da director of it

  • Omigosh I'm so glad I found this! When we did the play our teacher let us watch this. Haha I loved it so much! I so awesomely got Titania, but this guy I hate played Bottom and another guy I hate played Oberon. But other than it was so fun!
