From what I recall about flash CS3, the gotoAndstop command simply says that, when a parameter is met (like a button is pressed), that it will take the user to a frame specified by the creator and "stop" there, i.e. will not continue to play the animation.

To move a character when you click is very difficult to explain in a comment. Look up a tutorial on Youtube. As for a chat box, it's as simple as creating a variable which changes depending on an input textbox. Again, consult youtube for tutorials

Game Makers code function fails. You cant make "Advanced" 3D games with it. Thats why i moved to MacroMedia flash. Even though i wasnt looking for a 3D game.

Besides the 3D in game maker is like a screen door in a submarine, it just doesn't work :\

Very basic. much more interesting if you add some cross-hairs. make an aimer. convert it to a movieclip. go to it's actions. give this code: onClipEvent(enterFrame){ startDrag(this, true); Mouse.hide() } then test your movie. there should be a moving aimer if you control ur mouse.
