There's always a problem with the background singers being louder than the lead... I know she has to PROJECT, but she should'nt have to project AND yell to be heard. That's how you lose your voice.
this arrangement is awesome! some issues with tempo could be fixed with the addition of some simple beatboxing. If the soloist was mic'ed(so she didn't have to yell), this would have been like 2x better. I don't think everyone else being quiet would have been enough...although that would be a step in the right direction
next time please keep the tempo.. sometimes it would be nice if it didn't sound like the duuh duuh voice sounds on a cheap keyboard goes bananas, and maybe use more singers to backup the lead.. but this isn't critics, i think it sounds good, specially from a home video cam in a random small party hall. Keep up the good work :-)
The melancholy sadness/ quietness of the song, which is much of what makes it so compelling in the Norah Jones version, is but a faded memory in this too loud, too fast, too strident version... A pity.
I think they did a great job. The soloist has a lot of soul in her voice much like Norah Jones. And there are no mikes, if the soloist was pianisimo she either wouldn't be heard or capable of hitting some of those notes with clarity. A capella pieces tend to take a song and make it their own. I think this group did very well ;-)
I like the idea, not sure if the intro bass is too lonely on it's own at the start then, then the back is a bit strong but I love the idea and would love to see a softer version!
I absolutely love Umass Dynamics, they're amazing. I think there always seems to someone who doesn't like these i can't quite get why. It could be because of the sound recording quality isn't that great. If you listen to the samples on there website, it sounds so much better.

it's ok, except for the lead, who's jarring, error-ridden performance makes for considerable "oh-dear-god-what-is-that-noise" cringing. Get someone better to sing the lead, and this would be greatly improved.

the high note around 1:53 was off, and she looks awkward when she sings, idk, maybe stand up straighter?? I love the background though!
