  • So much for BA being in financial trouble!! They seem to still be able to afford to send a 747 and deploy slides that cost a small fortune to repack!! They should stop publicity stunts and work at restoring their 'once great' service.

  • think the people in Haiti would not class it as a publicity stunt. Such a stupid comment to make....not the only world wide airline to have done this...idiot!

  • i rember when i jumepd from slideraft of a aircraft and it was a good experiance

  • were you legal to fly with 11 slides?

  • The aircraft was more than likely flying back empty anyway, although if it was returning with pax ...the number of pax carried would have to be reduced as a result of an inoperative exit. I would have imagined they would also have flown with an engineer on board. Hope this answers your question

  • thanks!

  • I'm guessing that they repacked the slide afterwards and it will be tested and reused.

  • Slide would have been removed and thrown in the hold I guess and replaced on return to the uk.

  • OUch! How expensive is that?!

  • Very expensive. Anywhere between 20,000-50,000USD. (Per slide). And there are 12 of them on the 747-400.

  • Of course, BA and any other airline are probably given heavy tax write-offs by their respective governments for these flights.

  • very nice!
