  • @iliketosteal if u listen to hip hop, thats all the good artists talk about. thats what makes a real poet. to be able to spread any message, and sound good doing it.

  • He is the only man who could make me understand the struggle that some others of gone through in which I take for granted. I cannot create a good enough compliment.

Thank you Mr. Williams for giving me this ability.

  • Who is this

  • @BrotherDarnitAll Saul williams.DUHHHHH!!!

  • Who is this sodomite.

  • Very well written & felt.

  • can anyone write what he says? my english is not that good...

  • @gybp If I hadn't come if I hadn't doubted, worried feared lost my way if I hadn't have kissed you if none of this were real, if it sall had no meaning if my prayers were in vein, if integrity was nothing more than a branch of the ego and dreams just an excuse we use to escape the eternally real pain, suffering death betrayal if all that was good was simply a lie would this moment feel any different, here, now. your body's so close I feel the sweat of your pores entering mine.

  • @gybp and this kiss and this, would this then be heaven, love, listen every dream does come true if you hold it close and there is a boundry where ego can not persist I want you to come with me if you can not walk let me carry you I want to show you what I've found a dream I had as a child has blossomed into a castle you can have your own (I didn't get this word) but I doubt you'll need it my love your dream is a blossom too and all that is missing from their sacred grove is you. come without

  • @royiscool88 you can have your own 'wing'

  • @JayTaylor91 thanks

  • @gybp a garden is a vacant lot, a castle, a nutshell, it appears you have lost your map. let me draw one on your belly and here on your thigh, it''l be clear when the paint dries. All my life I've waited for this moment so many hours of rehersal, years, frustrations, obstacles, dress rehersals, runthroughs, I lost myself in the process I've made wrong choices I often felt I had no choice the stage the lights the anticipation but now its opening night the audience has begun to take their seats

  • @gybp and so love so soon it'll be time to part the curtains.

  • @royiscool88 Thanks a lot!

  • this is beautiful

i like his little brother (umbrellaseance) most talk about, most anticipated and said to be the greatest poet and rapper alive .go check out his freestlye leek

  • words are swords

  • This video deserves more than nine comments and ninety-one hundred views..

  • his voice wrecks me everytime. the man is too powerful.

  • I remember this night, he was so cool when we took pictures with him after :)

  • He's such a great poet, but i don't feel like this poem is really too great. It seems like he didn't really say anything but a lot of colorful stuff with little substance. A poem just saying "I love you like a dream come true" would have sufficed.

  • Well that's what (written) poetry's about, stopping to explore the simple things we overlook. I mean Emily Dickerson wrote a poem about the way the light looks in winter time...

  • @Orile277 Well it's isn't that the purpose of the poem is bad it's that the execution, I feel, is only effective because he is such a renowned poet. If you really stop to dissect each of the things he says, there's little to see except very powerful stage presence.

  • I don't think Saul's poetry makes the transition from the stage to paper so well, but I definitely do think there is a lot in what he says. It's just that the meaning often comes from the way he says a word, the tone in his voice, the way he moves his body. Taking it away from that is just removing it from the medium from which it was intended to be heard.

  • Just what I was thinking. He's a very talented performer and does have a gift with words--especially the rhythm of words. If you notice, even in this ballad-like poem, his recitations are almost always very rapid. His work depends very heavily on that rapid-fire delivery. If you listen carefully you hear a lot of platitudes. I would cut them, maybe he needs a good editor. Then again, he's famous--and I'm not ;)

  • beautiful

  • how I love u, oh Saul.

  • This is so moving.

    almost brought me to tears

  • I LOVE HIM and especially this! aaaah

  • absolutely amazing, he blows me away every time.

  • If beauty had words it would sound like this
