  • So..is he a photographer or a graphic designer? Sounds really out of date and...cheesy.

    Sincerely,

    A Graphic Designer

  • I'm 15 years old and I have always wanted to be a graphic designer. However, the one issue that I have is that I'm very enclosed about my work. What i mean is that I'm afraid to show my work because of a fear of criticism. I hear people do freelance work at the age of 17, and I wonder just how they have the confidence to showcase their designs to companies. I guess it's something I'll have to work towards.

  • @anonymous66136 You just should go to an art-school and learn the tricks. At school they sure will test how much criticism you can handle, and of course you'll be trained how to take this in a good way. In Graphic Design, you always will have people who don't like it, so you should take critism seriously and use this to become better! However, you're just 15 and this gives you the oppertunity to practice a lot before you actually join artschool. Good luck :)

  • Hi I'm a Graphic Designer working for a large company. I feel that the Marketing Department inside our company lacks alot of Art or Design in them. They usually make lots of bad decisions and after it is printed they spend thousands of dollars correcting it again. How do you get under educated (Non creative) Marketing people understand ART and make them follow the proper procedures on creating effective designs?

  • @ConcertKing1

    what exactly is graphic design?

I'm looking for a category which I would like to work in but I don't know the name of it

It involves making logo's,photo re-touching,and just creating pictures from scratch.

Would you happen to know if there is a job for that?

    lol

  • @Mrfitrider1 a graphic designer with a powerful creative mind can create any prototype cars, clothing, furniture or even houses, interiorist homes, car interiors, even an entire city, only with a pen and paper just to get started, depending on what you like to draw

  • @Mrfitrider1 making logos is what a graphical designer does. there are other studios who does photo re-touching, but photographers often do this themselves. it takes a photographers eye to make good re-touching. and an illustrator job for making pictures from scratch. so it's really different categories. but hey. come up width a nice business idea and start your own firm where you can do whatever you like to do.

  • @ringhede92

    oohh..alright..thanks :)

    I do photography,photo re-touching,and I make logos too :D

I also edit video's..please check out my channel and comment if you'd like.I'd appreciate it

    :)

  • @ConcertKing1 get young designers with an open mind

  • ehow why deleted my comment because it true! This job is dead!

  • am want to be a graphic designer! i already started using photoshop cs5 extended n am pretty gud @ it!! bt can i get jobs for graphics??????? plz help

  • @MrYudish005 To be honest with you my friend, I suggest not to take graphic design as your lifetime career but you can make it as your hobby. It's really tough and hard to get a job as a graphic designer out there.Believe me.I'm jobless for nearly 4 years right now. Many of my classmate who quit their day job had make their own design business, but they never survived and broke,it's devastated :(

  • @rickylovehorror86 yeah that am gonna do nw... a going to be an architect and hobby graphic designer! anyways thx 4 the advise! :D

  • @MrYudish005 if i was you. stop what you doing and do something thats demand.

  • @albertobebes yeah am learning architecture nw! thx 4 the help! :D

  • @MrYudish005 thats great, a job I really wanted to get into but you're young and trust me, you'll here this a lot. To become Archictect you need outstanding grades in Maths, Science and Art. Also carry them on through life, college, uni and get your Bach. Which takes about 7 years post high school. Didn't want to crush your dreams or anything just give you some knowledge and so you consider a plan B just incase. thanks.

  • We're the lowest price print shop in the USA.

  • I'd like to be a graphic designer

  • @LilyCh23 dont be graphic designer. no job. trust me.

  • @albertobebes I thought there were tons of jobs looking for graphic designers?

  • @LilyCh23 its almost 2 year still no job. yea, you find side job but it wont last.

  • Comment removed

  • @albertobebes I agree with you.It's a devastating process to find a job in this field :(

  • @LilyCh23 study it! never lose your passion!

  • faxing is really really common still. if u need actual copys of such things then u can fax it all day lol

  • Fax in 2009?

  • Fax it? Surely you would scan it in as a bitmap line drawing and send it over via email as a PDF....

Its obvious that this guy is just old school and thats the way he is used to doing it....

  • @alexskylarking Hey, I do scan designs now and I email them from my iPad. The point I was making is that the ideas are fluid and little effort has been spent in the communication so that the value of the idea is not skewed by the amount of work that went into it. If thinking through an idea is "old school" then so be it!

  • may, 2009?!?! are you serious?! no one works this way any more. faxes? really?

  • faxes are still used... idk where you come from but in my old job I had to fax all the time

  • really?! everyplace i've ever worked just uses pdfs and email. interesting to know.

  • You are right. You can't get to square one until you come to agreement with the client on requirements. I like the idea of a mock up and fax.

  • Why don't they ask someone that actually does design? He said he doesn't do it. This is the viewpoint from like a VP/creative director.

  • @LadyAibrean They have done this though and have worked their way to this position a place i worked at the VP didnt have a design degree but he was a top notch designer and illustrator

  • im just wondering why i subscribed to ehow? also wondering how pointless is that ad in this video cause i cant even read it cause it in chinese or something.

  • Perhaps it's for a Chinese market?
