  • Awesome, fucking awesome

  • Killer save!

  • Very nicely saved, well done

  • Happened to me once, almost identical tankslapper - I only just saved it. However, I was in my Fiesta ... On an adverse cambered 90 degree corner... Going about 10 mph. Not quite as daredevil. (it was however just as unintentional and there was still touching of cloth ;-)

  • lol touching cloth moment!

  • I know that track and there's a bump on the exit that will do that to you every time as the suspension is still loaded up as you hit it. One sprint day I had a Silvia spin out in front of me on that exact spot time after time. This guy just needs to apex just that little bit later and he'll miss the bump. Bravo on the car control.

  • great save mate

  • that was a dope save!

  • I think that the title is misleading. It should read instead "What happens when you take this corner too quickly".

  • Shiiit

  • Early apex = Powersliding?

Sweet! I'm going to go and try it out!

    *comes back from the track*

Screw you guys, now my car is a worse wreck than what it was!

    Baaaawww

  • @FrozenBlaze not exactly ... powersliding caused by tire(s) losing grip. This case, the driver almost got the good line but the tire accidentally step on whatever (I don't know how to call it) that looks like a footpath in every curves. That's when he lose the grip and go oversteer. If you know you're going to fast in the curve, you shouldn't accelerate early after the apex.

My comment was intended as nothing more but a pure joke.

Like the comments of those people that have a knowledge of motorsports only from

    videogames, TV-shows and movies.

I thought it was rather obvious.

  • @FrozenBlaze Ah!!! I was losing a sense of humour LMAO

  • @blueblood2001

    LoL, don't worry about it.

Your reply was correct anyway, no matter what. :)

  • good to know

  • Nice Save !

  • i hate how mx5 owners buy these terrible number plates

  • It also looks like the driver didn't brake enough and got their timing wrong with the throttle. Slower entry would've allowed them to get on the power a bit earlier and correct the issue of being too early at the apex.

Nice hold, but I bet the tyres got ruined!

  • It was a silly mistake, but the driver was really good and kept the car from going off the track, it so looked as if he was gonna crash there!

  • Gotta love those turn one bumps :-)

Most people would initially over counter steer in that situation which would turn it into a final tank slapper off.

  • good save, keep ur eye on the line next time!

  • Great videos - I love seeing the raw footage and no stupid music added. I'm from Brisbane and want to do pretty much what you're doing here - modify an MX-5 for sprint days. What car did you start with? Clubman?

  • Hi mate, it started life as an NA6.

    Cheers,

    Danny

  • Have a look on the mx5cartalk forum in the garage section and look for OMX-596.

  • WOW

    nice save

  • Nice save, but got into the counter steer a bit late I thought.

  • GOD, the game GTR2 its almost identical. Good recover.

  • Scary. but good catch :>

  • Terrific save!

  • As you say, turn in way too soon but well held.

  • nice save
