  • I bought this video for like 10 15 bucks and couldnt play the echord now I can go figure kudos

  • cool many good lessons if you google - guitar manual blog its the first link.

  • I know the A, E Chord Now, Also G, C Im pretty sure.

  • Thx for the lesson man :)

  • 20 people have no idea how to play the chords.

  • i can't get it right :(

  • @TheQuestionStar just keep with it and hopefully your fingers will get used to it, also check if the guitars in tune. If your a natural failure at chords like me i suggest learning bass instead; just as cool as guitar, just as rewarding but much easier on the fingers, also dmanlamius on youtube is an epic teacher. hope this helped x

  • @fatwelshhippie lol i am a natural failure at chords but thanks :) i think i found my problem though....my guitar is to big for my hands i think but thnx for the advice :D maybe i will try bass

  • Hey, fantastic video, very professional and helpfull. Only one thing where is lesson 4 and 7? Thank you

  • the best video lessons ive had, the close ups are nice. i just wish my fingers would harden up soon.

  • i basically "barrowed" my sisters guitar ( she begged for years to get one, never plays it ) and i just started playing. and this has helped a lot! my fingers hurt! lol

  • Hy i have found a easy way to learn Guitar

    Guitarstut(.)com

  • thx justin

I like the way you teach!

  • is it supposed to hurt my fingers? lol.

  • yes, my uncle (plays guitar) said you have to play till it swells so you are used to it, and play better :(

  • Make sure u go on the website, its awesome and free, thnx justin :D

  • ahhh do i have to use a strum? when i bought my guitar i asked for one and they said that i don't really need it? confused....

  • @musteatmuffin21

Are you talking about a guitar pick?

If you are, then no, you don't NEED one.

I like to strum with just my finger.

Do whatever you're comfortable with doing.

If I were you, I'd get a guitar pick anyways, to try out. They don't cost that much. :]

  • @Smashley2496

okay thanks bought 2 now a soft and hard, not really to sure about the difference but oh well, thanks!

    ur lessons are great!!

  • thanks for this post helped me alot although the biggest issue i have is having fingers like pigs tits and touching strings i shouldnt

  • @r0x0rz1337 Go to TABABUNGA . COM There we have guitar video tabs with the tablature to go with the video, anyone can upload videos and tabs TABABUNGA THE YOUTUBE OF GUITARISTS

  • @r0x0rz1337

thats a new one for me..."pig tits", i guess i can call my sausages "pig tits" as well, if i may, lmfao.

  • say im 2 steps down from standard tuning, C- F- A# -Eb-G-C, if i play a C or like an A chord, will it just be 2 steps down from those notes, or do u have to play different frets to play a chord?

  • if you wanted to play an a chord would it have to be on that fret or is it the same if its on another fret as long as ur fingers are positioned corectly

  • wouldn't it be much easier just to press all tose three strings down with one finger?

  • A major and E major

  • is this for electric guitar too?

  • it could be, cuz electric guitars and acoustic guitars are basicly the same thing

  • acoustic and electric same layout 6 strings eadgbe unless you down tune it but yeah any chord for an acoustic will be the same for an electric

  • thanks

  • Cant press down hard enough with my index finger for A.. D:

  • thank you for being the one who thought me A D & E for now :)

  • nice fender in the background

  • Being an instructor/musician from a music academy i've found when playing the A major using the 2nd finger on the d string, 3rd on the g string, 4th on the b string, it is more economical to simply drop the 1st finger without moving any others to 1st position to minor the chord and without any string noise from lifting other fingers unnecessarily if you were amped on a stage. you can also suspend the A major chord by simply shifting the 4th over the fret etc... internet lessons, be careful

  • is this e minor or e major~? if there real things :S

  • great videos u dont miss out the details like other ones do it makes it easy to understand :D x

  • this is great man , it has been a great help , thanks bunch :)

  • if every thinks this vids gr8 coz it is y is it 1 star?

  • you're great man, thanks a bunch!

  • Out of all the videos on youtube, your the only person i actually undersand! thank you so much :) your excellent!

  • you can actually buy a small box thing that helps you tune it, you place ur string and it tells you how far out it is.

  • doess any1 kno hot to tune the guitarr or should i just leave it untill i learn how to switch chords properly?

  • learn to tune your guitar first.

There are a lot of videos available in Youtube.

  • tune 1st coz ul no if ur playin the chords propperly then (Y)

  • i dont play my guitar without tuning it;

i got an electric tuner with mine, go buy one if you dunno how to tune it xD

  • What do i buy? a tuner or an electric guitar? thanks :)

  • haah nooo dont buy a electric guitar unless you wanna play it instead of acoustic of course, but electric guitars dont tune themselves :) buy a tuner silly! x]

  • OMGG!! Imm soo exited! soon ill b able 2 playy a songg!! Lool

  • Thank you! Your demonstrations are very easy to learn from.

  • thank you thank you thank youuuuuuuu! You are the first teacher I actually understand!!!!!

  • with your left thumb push really hard on the neck of your guitar and push your wrist out away from you this will push your fingers out and be more directly over your 2nd string

  • thanks

    i'll try it (:

  • when i try the 'traditional' method

    my 1st string;thin e is like muted...help?

  • So do the newer, better method.

  • yeah i kinda got that

its that i wanted too try both

    thanks justin!

  • thank you. this helps(:

  • this is amazing

i got my guitar 2 weeks ago and after the first week i gave up

today i was determined to memorize all the chords and your videos are so easy to understand im already half way there

  • how exactly do u do A? like in what Frent. and which version do u recommend for someone with long skinny fingers

  • Did you watch the video at all???

  • dang ur rude.

Actually enjoying learning chords... but i've gotta stay patient and not jump ahead of myself, one step at a time.

The vids are really easy to learn with though, so hopefully plenty of practise and i'll b learning songs b4 i know it.!! :)

  • was this the A and E minor?

  • No its the A and E Major

  • my guitar sux xD

  • thank you so much dude!

sweeet explenations, and everything is well shown

  • mine no soud like dat :(

  • then you're guitar is not tuned my friend

  • you rock!

  • ahh i hate the first fret i have to press down much harder :(

  • i dont know if i am wrong but on your website it says that the new method of playing the A chord is "shown in the neck diagram" but its not.. the diagram shows the old method. Maybe i am getting it wrong but i only realised the new method you described in your website by watching this video.. and the new method is alot easier...

  • damn this a chord... xD i dont like this one... but good teaching

  • really good teaching , thx !

  • I just started playing 3 days ago and my fingers are fraking purple. but i know thats normal for beginners.ou nice teaching btw :)

  • mine used to really hurt too,ive been playhing guitar everyday for 2 years now, and i know all the chords, and the tips of my fingers are hard and cant even feel the strings now, keep at it:)

  • just dont play the A chord like he does, its easier to put ur index finger on the 4th string middle finger on 3rd, and ring finger on 2nd, its much easier,

  • your a great teacher... and yeah about the fingertips hurting my fingertips are freakin purple started playing about 2 days ago

  • yeah me to lol my fingers ar killin

  • Well, like he said, it could be difficult for someone with large fingers, which I can totally relate to. He was just making a suggestion and said you can play it how you want, and it's based on finger size.

  • msybe wen the corns come my fingers wont go purple anymore

  • rumswithsheep i tried using 23 and 4 and it works! lol my fingers are so soreeeeeeeeeeee

  • I'm a complete beginner.. is it normal for your fingers to hurt? Is it because I'm pressing the strings down too hard because it stings and I just can't play without pain at the moment.

  • I just started trying to learn the guitar and my fingers quit hurting after the first day. I practiced for several hours the first day and just ignored the pain.

  • My fingers are killing me, i'm a new beginner myself. so yeah its pretty normal in my opinion.

  • yeah same here, I feel its sliding the fingers across the strings and pressing down hard, but im sure we will get used to it

  • I've always used the fingers 2, 3, and 4 for A. Is that weird?

  • My entire left hand is double-jointed and my thumb can't support some of the harder chords without bending back. Does anyone have any advice?

  • uhh... Play bass!!! It's hard to find some of those!

  • how long have you been playing guitar as known as ratiug?

  • you mean ratiug signirts daniel?

  • the muting string makes me laugh

  • do dogs and cats really eat ratiug stings?

  • i started trying to play earlier, masterd the D kinda but i keep muting sum strings like he tells you to watch out for. Grrrr

  • I adore you.

its easy to learn to play guitar in your lessons ^^

  • Justin is God!

Right now for sure, Clapton is jealous

    haha

  • thanx a lot dude...

  • Thanks, I am learning how to play the guitar, and you are a good insperation.

Hawa 8 years old and Tove (mum) also learning - age 39

  • you're awesome! idiot proof but not patronising. i suck pretty bad and its going to take alot of practice, but credit to you for doing this!

  • it hurts alot after i let the cords go, is there anything i can do about that?

  • I put a strap of band aid wich covers my fingers. it helps, you wont feel the strings that much.

  • There are a number of ways, one is rubbing alcohol, but the best way I have found to date is harden your skin by using the fingers tips, on something like a steel string guitar for example. Everthing comes to he who is in pain.

  • The pain will go away after time, your fingers just have to adapt to the pain, and they will develop after a while of playing the guitar, and you won't feel the pain anymore.

  • what a great detailed lesson.. This is the best tutorial on guitar I have found on you tube..

    thanks so much

  • Took me a while to get the D chord down but now I can switch between the D and A pretty quickly!

Thankyou so so much! Ive always wanted to learn an instrument from a teacher that wasnt a Nazi leader! <33333333

  • wow this is actually really really excellent!

thank you so much mate for doing all this! and for free! I will be donating as soon as I get home. great stuff!

I bought a guitar 2 weeks ago and did not know a SINGLE THING, and now I can play a few chords and switch between chords (very very very slowly!)

I am going to stick with it though dude. haha.

    thanks again. excellent!
