  • This guy looks like Mclovin who lives on 892 Momona st Honolulu Hi 96820,..you know the guy in superbad

  • If it weren't for their terrible haircuts I would have no idea that this music is over 20 years old.

  • I'm back , still playing it over and over again. Bless you Simon Jeffes and the PCO.

Anytime I'm down, this can put a smile on my face. Thanks.

  • The audience sure is a bunch of stiffs... heads on hands, hands folded on laps. PCO are having a blast though!! Edit | Remove

  • I was listening to this while my girfriend was doing something behind me, suddenly she raised and head, looked at the video and said: "That guy with the 2 tin whistles can fumble my salty bean anytime"

She's got to be the best ever.

  • @Jimmyceltic91 That is one sexy girfiend

  • Great stuff! toe tapping at its best

  • crap whistle, crap ego

  • How could a heart not leap at 1:23?!

  • How could a heart not leap at 1:23?

  • Excellent!! Thanks for sharing:)

    Grandma mary

  • Oh dear... My girlfriend just looked over my shoulder to see what I was listening to, and said, "that guy on the mini-flutes can fumble my salty bean any time."

    My goodness I love her.

  • @UberJamesMan We should make sure we don't have the same girlfriend.

  • @Jimmyceltic91

We broke up a while ago and now she's going out with some guy called Jimmy.

She still has the same taste in music though.

  • @UberJamesMan If you ain't trollin that is creepy as hell

  • @Jimmyceltic91

Well, he prefers "James", but everyone (including my ex) calls him Jimmy.

  • @UberJamesMan Then I'm proud to let you know that we both knew/know 2 great girls.

  • @Jimmyceltic91 Oh, I still know her - we bone occasionally because Jimmy can't satisfy her. But yeah, she's great.

  • @UberJamesMan With such statement, you sir, just became worthy of listening to Penguin Cafe Orchestra.

  • @Jimmyceltic91 Splendid.

  • Double flute all the way...

  • Amazing!!

  • back with the penguin best

  • The intro shows Simon Jeffes' genius improvisation skills. Check out yodel 2 (Live) from "A History". I love the PCO <3

  • how can everyone be standing stiil while listening to this??

  • @mamuteyeah Possibly because not everyone feels the need to dance when they hear great music. I know I don't. I'd be singing, not dancing!

  • ¡Extraordinaria presentación!!!

    Extraordinary performance!!!

  • Weird...but enjoyable!

  • -thanx Benbingcyllables - just discovered PCO through the animated movie "Mary and Max"(IMDB 8,3). Love elecritc-acoustic ensembles.

  • They're good.

I especially like their front man... That "Penguin" guy...

  • But nary a cowbell anywhere to be heard...at least by myself such as. Cool never-the-less.

  • If genius is a step from madness, this proves it.

Every member doing their own thing perfectly (watch them), but the whole is SO much greater than the sum of its parts.

I had the privelige to see them at the Union Chapel (THE best venue I have ever been too) They may not be mainstream, but, by god, we need people like these to keep the torch of creative music alive.

  • @gerretl what a great comment... I never get tired of listening to them. These videos are gems, thanks for posting!

  • thank's, bendingsyllabes for posting this brilliant performance of the Penguin Café Orchestra! El tema en directo es enorme¿ quién puede tocar así?

  • hearing this thing over and over again through headphones would be the torture at Guantanamo. it's manic!

recently i heard Music From The Penguin Cafe - i.e. Simon Jeffes' son's tribute band - play at WOMAD, and they did a version of 'Swing the cat', in which they kept stopping suddenly then starting up again at faster speeds. They got a lot faster than this, and a lot faster than the original. did anyone else see it?

  • someone was still playing the triangle. can it still be heard?

  • funny enuff i was talking to a tibetan sherperd on neptune the other day and he made the exact same coment as gwaliamusic, except he never said it was wonderful he said it was fandabidozi, I totally agreed with him althoughI have too confess Ive no idea wat conciliatory denoument means

  • Not sure whether any one else will agree, but this is a lot like a Tibetan shepherd leading a big band from Neptune. I mean it's virtually note for note, not to mention the conciliatory denoument. wonderful!

  • I think that comment only makes sense when recited by a Tibetan shepherd on Neptune.

  • I like this music very much. I especially like that it sounds like a Tibetan shepherd leading a big band from Neptune. That's all I have to say about that.

  • Saw them live many years ago at the RFH in London.....awesome, even better than their albums.

  • In reply to Lucy.. I'm stil smiling my whole face off dear. If ever I'm down, I come back here and watch this video. Then I can face the world again. ;+)

  • 2.32, thats some serious triangle playing

  • god i wouldve loved to have seen them live

  • Three cheers for the beardy guy in the red shirt...!!!

And the guy playing the triangle...there's hope for me yet.

  • You are messing with ma heed!! Red shirt?

  • He's playing a drum at the same time...

  • Cheers bending syllables, you put tonnes of great stuff on here.

  • its a tin whistle not a flute

  • in reply to... stevies5 who said ''Man I'm just sitting here smiling my whole face off!!''

    me too :-)

and thank you for posting the video bendingsyllables

  • i wish he harmonized on the flutes...

  • LOVE THIS!!!! But what makes me smile more than the music is the audience...not a toe tap amongst them!!! I would be jigging around to this, not looking all academic and serious!

  • all except the bearded guy in the red shirt...he was the only one who seemed to get it!

  • i really really love that. i really do.

  • How good was that? God bless you Simon.

  • Could some kind person tell me where I might find the video of the dancers that's played in the background? I'd really like to see it in it's entirety.

  • Man I'm just sitting here smiling my whole face off!! Thanks very much for that link.

  • Fantastic. I just love PCO and have done since I discovered them 20 years ago. All music is available on CD and Itunes. Go for it.

  • You know you are getting old when people post things from the 80's which you watched on the tv :-(

  • Awsome flute music. Sounds like Scottish Bag Piper tunes...............Johnny Walker types
