  • I got a Speeding ticket the day I watched this Movie, on my way home from the Cinema.

  • 1. Open two Youtube windows

    2. Turn the "Solace" video's sound down to appx. 2/3

    3. Play Rusko "Hold On" in the second window

    4. Wait for "Hold On" to drop at 1:06

    5. Start the "Solace" video at 1:01 as the beat drops

    6. Enjoy

  • 3:30 - 4:05 now thats some real bond soundtrack. i love the bass at 3:39.

  • How does an Alfa keep up with a DBS? Especially with Bond driving.

  • Definitely a dynamic movie intro!

  • This is really cuttet too fast. Maybe its modern for the mtv fraction, but for me it is pure pressure for my eyes. me,Bond ever wmovies. And there was Lazenby in a good movie, bit also the wrong man. I do not accept Craig,

  • I loathed this when I first saw it in 2008. Now my loathing is fading....

  • There was a time, years ago, when continuity in editing meant something. I hated this movie because all the action scenes tried to be like the Jason Bourne films- except that here they cut so fast and so recklessly that you can't properly follow the action. Some people say it's a style, artistic, etc. Bull. It's lousy editing and bad movie making.

  • Even though I didn't think much of the movie as a whole, this is the most intense action opening I've ever seen.

  • Chuck Norris` Road Trip

  • I pull back and cringe when the Aston gets damaged. Don't give a crap bout the Alfas though :/

  • stop at 3:25 where Bond fires -.- so fake

  • @hahahashish no he actually shot the guy..idiot

  • @shady1630 I was talking about the special effects gun that looks very unreal...if you stop the frame just before he fires you can see it is way bigger than it should be for its position compared to where Mr. Craig is ''holding it''...bad editing job...

  • epic commercial for Aston Martin which actually doesn't need it :D

    soundblasting engine, reaction time, power

if i had a money for ferrari i would rather choose gentlman with animal soul :D

  • Do you know who I feel sorry for most in this scene...................... THE CAR!!!! You cant do that to an Aston Martin!

  • I've often wondered where he got this Aston, when he rolled the one in Casino Royale chasing after Vesper.

  • the fact that the movie didn't open up with the gun barrel, not to mention Bond is not wearing the same suit he wore at the end of Casino Royale despite this scene taking place mere minutes after it, makes me take of mad points for Qos

  • @Awgichew He is wearing the same suit

  • @Awgichew Casino Royale didn't open with it either, but it was one of the best bond fillms

  • talk about wrecking a beautiful car. Id still drive that thing to work the exact way it looks and be p[proud of it lol

  • Great opening, but shite music for a Bond film

  • there was a serious accident for wanting to destroy the 159, Alfa curse...

  • Daniel Craig is the best Bond, followed closely by Dalton.

  • @plisskin83 i agree, i like the new bond films more as well

  • IN THE DESCRIPTION:

Blink and you'll miss it? - That's 4:31seconds! You'll have to have a blindfold on, and be screaming! - maybe he was talking about the man in the trunk ;)

  • @MrBillybongos huh?

  • i don't know why that door didn't smash up that alfa.

  • sorry, but this scene is 10 time more awesome if they replaced the alfa with the aston.

  • great car chase. That s how to start a Bond film:)

  • cod anybody

  • was micheal j fox the camera man or some shit

  • V8

  • Only good scene in the movie

  • @Phil6590 This scene and the film for that matter were badly edited and the editor should have been fired i hope they don't use the same guy for the next film coz he totally screwed this whole chase scene up i still enjoyed the film but it wasn't as good as casino Royle overall.

  • @charlieiscool1000 What twaddle your comment is. Brilliantly executed piece of editing. It was a gripping and dynamic opening sequence.

  • @charlieiscool1000 casino royale was way better ...skyfall up next

  • Can't read any more comments. Just enjoy the car chase, it was off the chain. Thanks Cameroncars for posting.

  • Polizia: Station from patrol 48 grey aston martin followed bye a black alfa romeo driving towards the quarries.

    Polizia: gunshot fire

  • Holy crap! Any scene that averages two cuts per second should be reconsidered. >_>

  • @ThatOneReallyLameKid cause you are an expert

  • Thanks for posting! One of the best action films in the past decade; I love a good car chase.

  • One of my favorite films love it perfect way to begin this film cannot wait for Skyfall to come out :-)

  • Wow, that was quite the car ad! They even have Daniel Craig in it!

  • My drive to work every morning.

  • @incinerator327 haha, I totally picture this scene when I'm in heavy highway traffic

  • Whoever edited this clearly thinks an Aston v Alfa car chase is so boring it needs to be made interesting by not letting any of the shots last more than 24 frames, they need a slap round the head. Has to be one of the worst chases I've ever tried to watch, pity cos from what I can make out some of the stunts might have been quite good.

  • the badie in the alfa can't shoot for toffee!

  • i love the cars in this chase. aston martin is epic as are the alfa romeo 159's.

  • the best car chase ever....

  • @syedzul100 Watch Bullitt, then get back to me... This car chase holds no candles that film's incredible chase scene...

  • FUCK OFF YOUTUBE

  • @VicePower I felt exactly the same. They really do grow on you. You begin appreciating then more.

  • Best beginning to any film. Into the action from the get go! The dogs nuts!

  • Classic Bond car chase scene but frankly after 40+ years of Bond movies I think this kind of stuff is dated. It was boring.

  • yihaa hear the sound of the aston

  • ahhh listen to that engine.. :D

  • Contrary to the common opinion that this scene was poorly made, I actually think it's really good. It's a bit confusing and sort of edgy, in your face like it might be if you were in the car yourself stuck in a tunnel full of people trying to kill you. All the engine sounds are great too.

  • love the lol

  • :-).....

  • He is not the real 007 bcoz in the end of casino royale he wore blue shirt when he had encounter with Mr white but here he wore white shirt,,,,,,,,,,,,,

  • one of the strongest movie openings ever made. one of my favs....so far!

  • This might be the best Bond opening ever!

  • I Love that annotated LOL at the end. The timing was perfect; as if Bond himself spewed it. But there is just something so madcap, and nonsensical about Bond using such a base form of expression.

As if some vile, and cynical doppelganger of the internet occupied his being for just a moment to perpetrate the ruse.

  • Poor alfa's :(

  • I don't know why, but I always cringe when I see a Vanquish or the DBS get damaged.

  • @TheseNuts86

    What about the DB5?

  • How do you kids even know what the fuck happened in that car chase?

  • @1451tyler im a kid and know what happened in that car chase

  • @betafish30 Well, asides from a bunch of sloppy editing?

  • @1451tyler Watch it a few more times. It gets clearer as you watch it.

For the record, I really enjoyed the scene. Gave the scene a very appropriate frantic energy, IMO.

  • @1451tyler i know i know he took an arrow to the knee

  • @1451tyler red bull

  • Personally I think it's good editing and good acting by Daniel Craig. The starting scene is the most serious of all in Bond films, Craig is also the most serious Bond ever. He is not wooden. He's just the most muscular, strong and serious. If you people like the 60's old school shit the jerky jokeful james bond why dont just eff off and watch your Sean Connery. All I know is Craig smiles less, fight more, kill harder.

  • I've seen Quantum of Solace on a big screen a few years ago, but it was impossible to see what was happening.

I've seen this movie lots of times, but i still don't understand the story. After On Her Majesty's Secret Service, is Quantum of Solace the worst Bond movie.

  • @WH250398 agree he is a shit bond to

  • @unrealharry Also wodka martini, bond james bond, gadgets, q, moneypenny, pierce brosnan (Best bond), are all gone. This is not Bond anymore.

  • @WH250398 Q and Moneypenny are coming back for Skyfall which means gadgets!! Wodka martini + bond james bond were in Casino Royale!

  • @WH250398 Great, a Daniel Craig hater. Well, Connery's 81, Lazenby's 72, Moore is 84, Dalton is 67, and Brosnan is 58. Clearly they can't come "save you." Daniel Craig is still signed on for a few more movies, so deal with it. And, as Cameroncars said, the vodka martini and bond james bond were in casino royale.

  • @iknownothing34 But pierce brosnan wanted to play james bond when he was 56. But daniel craig looks cool in the games. I don't hate craig. But he is just not a james bond.

  • @WH250398 He is not the James Bond you know from old movies. You must remember, that he first recently became 007 in Casino Royale. This movie happens shortly after that. So please keep in mind that he first has to get older and get to the same stile/class as the old/normal Bond we know.

  • @WH250398 Use your brain?? "Bond, James Bond" is not Daniel Craig's Bonds thing yet. He just became 007 and he is still hard, rough and with little charm. The class of Bond you know it will come later. He first has to become the Bond we know from old movies.

  • @MrBaduun :-( :-( :-(

  • @MrBaduun What about the end of casino royale? So, he has to learn to say his name?

Daniel Craig is not really the problem. But Marc Forster. Marc Forster made a mess of the movie.

  • @MrBaduun Sorry, you might be right. Skyfall will make the difference.

  • @MrBaduun y but he was very charming in casino royal but not in Quantum of solace

  • @recycly That's kind of the point. He's just had his heart broken by the person he loved dearly and is trying to cope with that as well as learning how to keep his professional and emotional lives separate. This is EXACTLY how Bond was written by Ian Fleming. The end of "Quantum of Solace" showed that he had finally been able to strike that balance, so we should see a more cinematically familiar Bond in "Skyfall".

  • @DMKelly20 I agree with DMKelly. In Octopussy, he acts very professionally when he confronts a man that murdered someone close to him. In fact the man that was killed was something of a father figure to Bond.

  • It still runs.

  • BADASS!

  • maybe one of the best car chase seens ever made

  • what is the name of this song?

  • @TheSupercars01 o sorry

  • @TheSupercars01 Another Way to Die, by Jack White and Alicia Keys.

  • omg Daniel Craig is just such a terribly wooden actor!

  • This is my favourite scene in the movie, the editing is brilliant, and it makes me wonder if they actually kill the actors, it looks that realistic. The directing for this is fantastic

  • I love when the music stop to the engine sound !!!! WTFFFFF !!!!

  • So I have a question, am I the only person that thought this movie was good? I hear it get panned all the time but I thought it was still enjoyable.

  • editing is ridiculously violent and painful to look at.

  • Thank you for including the whole beginning, which means the slow crescendo of the music and that panning shot. It just hooks you in straight away. What a car chase! This for me, immediately made up for the disappointing car chase in Casino Royale (much as that film is excellent).

  • Aston Martin vs Alfa Romeo nice !

  • I liked the car chase and the feel of it with the fast paced editing skills but this was no way ever a JAMES BOND film it was an unofficial bond film labelling it a bond film. Boring film apart from this car chase.

  • @amarsbarr The problem is you're not taking Bond's general mindset since the last movie into thought. He's not going to be going around joking it up and having sex for the fun of it. He's just gotten his heart broken because he thinks the person he loved set him up and betrayed him. He got proven wrong over the course of the film and in the upcoming Bond film "Skyfall", you will see that Bond is becoming more like he's been portrayed, yet in a much more interesting and better way.

  • Does anyone else think his Aston is black not gray as stated by the cop?

  • Comment removed

  • I really really liked this film, I gotta say.

  • Where the heck were all the bad guy's bullets going? He must of fired 200 rounds! Other than a missing door, dust on his car and a few bullet holes in the windshield there is no damage to Bond's car.

  • @armandx10 Bond's car was the Aston you downy! it had a missing door and missing glass and flats!

  • @armandx10

trying to aim a gun going fast through winding roads can be quite tricky... this isn't COD

  • @DJX187 It's made quite easier when your target is only eleven inches away. There must of been 200 rounds (at least) fired at point blank. Sorry, but Stevie Wonder could of killed Bond in that scene. Cheers!

  • This is one of the all time best 007 opening sequences bar none. I also love the local flava thrown into the 007 theme as he rolls into the MI6 safehouse in Siena.

  • did anyone notice that in casino royale bond worn a vest before the movie ended? If this is a direct sequel to like one hour after the movie, wouldn't he still have it on?

  • @horatiocaine100 Wasn't he also wearing a blue suit not a black one?

  • Worst case of road rage!

  • whenever i see this scene it makes me want to learn italian even more 2:00

not to mention how much i want an aston martin.

  • Oh I liked that opening

  • cortaram a melhor parte; a musica :(

  • @ReinadoSombrioGames non ce n'est pas!

  • Anyone notice that he is doing all this driving with his suit jacket still on?

  • This part of the film was effectively a continualtion of Casino Royale and was far and away the best part of Quantum of Solace. The rest of the movie was probably the weakest JB ever.

  • Two things we love: James Bond & Aston Martin

  • that closing shot on the mountain looked superb

  • Alfa romeo 159 is a Masterpiece of Beauty!

  • Alfa Romeo Legendary Italian Car creating good scene

  • poor car

  • @applecrazz1 thats the dust from the quarry.

  • 1:01 = instant hard-on

  • Where is this road that theyre on, i'd like to ride it

  • I like that Alfa can keep up with the DB9

  • @mathew2283

    It's a DBS, but close.

  • What a donk!!! I can't fuck an alfa with his damn aston !! Gosh !!!!!!!!!

  • the best part of the movie fuck yea! aston martin FTW!!!!

  • The best Opening!

  • It be funny if he opened up that trunk and he wasn't in there.

  • I cut out the song in the video because the vid was meant to show the opening, not the song, otherwise why wouldn't I have include the bit after that, and the bit after that etc...

  • The insurance company will not believe their eyes when they sees this.

  • Where's my gunbarrel?!

  • @TheKetsuban in the wrong spot...at the end.

  • @KISSarmyGuy >:|

  • what about the bike chase? the boat chase? the shootout at the opera place? the showdown at the end? you people are ungreatful.

  • Yes it is the best part of the movie !!!

  • Who the fuck looked at the final cut of this scene and thought, "yup, this is some good editing!"

  • @MrKickyourbutt I honestly liked the way they did this part of the film in terms of editing. I felt it heightened the urgency and frantic energy of the chase.

  • @MrKickyourbutt The before and during the bell tower fight scene with the ropes has about 100 frames in it. The editing in this film is crap

  • @MrKickyourbutt Probably the same sort of person who can stomach such editing without needing a flannel on their head. Just saying.

  • @MrKickyourbutt

QOS had many problems and is generally unloved...but could of at least been more watchable if it had been edited better. The director and his two editors had virtually no experience in action movies but were arty types who allowed their ego's to get the better of them.......and in turn, ruined the enjoyment of the movie for millions of people.

I mean, opening car chase cost £12 million....what awaste of the stunt cres talent. Do you agree?

  • @MrKickyourbutt Obviously the editor shadowed by director, the editing in this car chase is brilliant so I can see why Marc Foster approved of this cut... Does that answer your question?

  • @FordyFilms Actually the editing in this scene along with the rest of this film was very bad he should have been fired u can hardly see this chase scene because of the amount of over the top close ups and bad editing so on did ruin the film somewhat i hope they dont use the same editor again hopefully they learnt the lesson But its still a good scene never the less.

  • That DBS sounds so nice at 1:00

  • @Flash007b you are so right.

  • There's no better and professional secret agent than....'Johnny English'. Hahahaha

  • craigs bond carnt drive for shit, get perice bond in there and the aston wouldnt have a scratch

  • Bond can't stop making fun at Mr. White LOL

  • HOW TEH FUCK CAN A ALFA ROMEO 159 KEEP UP WITH A MOTHERFUCKINGLY-MINDBLOWINGLY AWESOME ASTON MARTIN DBS?!?!?!?!!??!?!?!!111!!!

  • What's the song that is on 3:56 ?

  • @vasotolud25 it is the famous bond theme....

  • What's the song that is on 3:65 ?

  • @vasotolud25 'Another Way To Die' by Jack White & Alicia Keys :)

  • daniel craig FTW,

  • is it just me or thie case at the start the only good thing about thtis movie?

  • @hugamumfterwoof

    Yep, it sure is.

  • @hugamumfterwoof I don't even like the chase - too many close-ups and frenetic cuts. Even "The Bourne Supremacy" knew when to ease up and let you get a sense of the geography of the car chase, and there were fewer competing ingredients to that sequence to digest.

And to top it all off I hate that grating song!

  • @hugamumfterwoof What about the plane chase? But I see what you mean, the movie as a whole could have been better, and those two chases were the best bits of the film.

PS: If was going to type just 17 words I would check for spelling errors or it's gonna make me look a bit dim :/

  • @hugamumfterwoof God I'm such a hypocrite, I made a grammatical error in that comment! Alright, disregard the PS please, it looks like I'm not really in a position to make comments about grammar....

  • @matt6517

meh not to worry i have worse insults dont worry mate

  • @hugamumfterwoof Not including the Tosca scene? I think it's 'Time to Get Out!" for someone ;-).

  • gunfire+DBS V-12 sound= perfection.....

  • not to complain or anything it was a great car chase but james bond's missing his vest from his attire that he wore at the ending of casino royale when he shot mr. white. but still a good chase, and just love the aston martin. too bad it had to get totaled.

  • It's time to get out lol

  • 2:58 looks looks like a diferential hit him in the sholder..... lol
