that is gonna be pretty special when finished, devil's own job working with the original ECU and all the warning lights that will appear. would be very easy to adapt to cable throttle and run a bespoke ECU. probably less of a problem (expense) than the gearbox you will have to buy

Stupid McLaren should have gotten this engine instead of that turbo charged v8.....

@luedriver Well, if they were planning to use a BMW motor then they'd probably consider this one (even though it is quite heavy) but instead, McLaren has fashioned out their own super light weight motor with up to 9000rpm revs and nearly 600hp with hardly any sign of boost lag. I think the new motor that their using will work perfectly and they won't need to spend an arm and a leg on using another companies motor. Maybe some company like Ascari will pick up on this motor, instead.

I love Ascari though for having the balls to put a 5 liter V8 in their super car without turbos and make it work...

...and all this time I have not seen Top Gear compare it with Jeremy's favourite super car the Ford GT...
