  • Awesome, D11 is indeed very good sounding engine. This sounds so familiar. :)

  • Really nice sound back there. Flott røyk:)

  • no, i read that is just a d11. but it sounds just like a turbo

  • i love that turbo whistle

  • It says right in the description that there is no turbo.

  • Closer to the preservement place, keep an eye out for vids.

  • You chould drop a DI14 engine into that hehe, 14L V8 would be awesome

  • This bus is going to Denmark in September, to be preserved. See videos

  • Should be a good home for a good bus!

  • congratulations! beautiful smoke ;)

  • The sound from the exhaustpipe is sweeet !!

  • Nice old bus , nice to see these oldtimers running good and in good condition

  • American trucks is just to much of everything! Only hp matter for americans

  • omg i hate some people say go buy an peterbilt or something! omg some people love oldies me to !

  • volvo, scania, merc, MAN, iveco, DAF, ftw!

  • merkelig motorlyd

    og ekstremt med eksos

  • What happened to the bus? Newer heard anymore from you, after our last email conversation? Can you please mail me again?

  • Sorry about that, gave your contact information to my dad and he said he'd continue the communication, not sure what happened after that. Ill get on it later today.

  • Thanks so much :D

  • Scania's are eurotrash are they? Oh dear how deluded you are, considerignthey are one of the world's best selling trucks, buses, marine engines then that's stupid statement to make, from someone who most likely a brain dead American who probably doesn't even know where Sweden is.

  • In europe, the american brands have a really bad reputation as unreliable, fuelinefficient and oversized. We have a very strict overall length regulation, and every inch of space used on the driver area equals one lost inch of cargo space. Parts are another issue - why wait a week or so for replacement parts for the US rig when every workshop has parts for your Volvo/Merc/Scania? Not to mention the fuelconsumption and Euro4/5 standards.

Peterbilts look great IMO, but theyre kinda useless here

  • Arent used to Peterbilt. We want Scania and Volvo!

  • Why would they want an american spec truck for non american roads?

Have u any first hand experience of scania's?

If not, why automatically assume american is better?

  • @tgardone what an idiot, have you ever driven a Scania? They are much nicer than any American truck....yes I have driven american trucks too, Macks suck.

  • My damb old weedwacker starts better than that..ha

  • Skaffa dig en Volvo istället!

  • Mmmmm, fresh exhaust!

  • Scania's are nothing but eurotrash

  • Well thats just typical..An American stating that all stuff made out of his country is crap..Quite ironical when you know abit of both American and European cars.Ladas and Skodas etc are said to be bad,but thats mostly because theyre old-fashioned compared to contemporary western-europeans.Sometimes quality is poor on some components, but its NOTHING compared to the worst crap they make in the US.

  • In the second half it sounds like a wild boar :-DDD

  • hehehe der gårn

  • Excellent video! And a very good memory for me.

    I had a Scania-Vabis bus with engine D11, a BF-7659.

For the cold start, these engines had a button in the injection pump.

You must press it before giving starter.

    Cordial greetings,

  • uglan233 du är inte svensk och scania är bättre än din mamma

  • engine doesn't sound too happy to me..

  • Skitbil

  • Buss.

  • Very nice bus - would make a classy motorhome! Engine sounds great!

  • How many kms has it driven?

  • I'll ask my dad and get back to you when I know :)

  • Probably a million

  • hahaha

  • Talk about carbon footprint, this reminds meof the old rolle with the lister, it would clag just as much when you started it after the winter.

  • is it risky starting an engine on grass because you could set the grass on fire or is it just me

  • It's just you

  • Wet grass in a Norwegian winter, you probably couldn't start a grass fire with a blowtorch

  • Not in the slightest. It's also a diesel, which has to be 62C or higher to ignight anyway. It's not like petrol.

  • Sounds bitchin, but why the pauses in the exhaust sound?

  • I think you refer to the effect of the idling automatics. A mechanism is making sure the engine doesent stall nor over-rev, but when cold it lags a bit and then the engine revs fall and rise a bit on idle. (or so I think. Correct me if Im wrong anyone?)

  • A lot of diesels do this; it's called "hunting" or "rack hunting". Has to do with the governor on the fuel injection pump. Some diesels just do this as a matter of normal operation, others can be adjusted to idle smoothly. Perhaps when the oil is cold in the governor...I'm not sure on this...

  • Exactly -- I think ^^

  • Real old Scanva sound!!Great!

  • jeez sounds like a motor bike
