  • i miss the day where trance was popular now its shitty rap music these days..... ill never ever let the spirit of trance die...

  • holy fuck

  • this still gives me goosebumps

  • Classic.

  • It was where it all started for Paul van Dyke, He has come a long way. An all time classic tune

  • first trance ! grettings from Polland

  • Awsome track!!!

  • 94? this is like waaaay ahead of its time, reminds me of deadmau5 who happens to be one of the most modern artists in electronica

  • soooo why isnt this played more live than the 2009 version. the 2009 version has got nothing on this!

  • nooo way this is from 1994?? and i honestly though the 98 version was the original.

  • najjača stvarčina

  • najjača stvarčina

  • the perfect sound

  • Dear fans, please join our group on facebook called Pvd Fans

  • Thumbs up if you are listening to this tune in 2011!

  • @sefmuqaj Im listening to this tune in 2012!!!

  • FINALLY FOUND THE ORIGINAL!

  • Paul Van Dyk..the best DJ/Producer in the world

  • Angels must be grateful to Paul Van dyk!!!

  • I often listen this at morning.... It brings me the power for all day... It's one of the best trance songs!

  • dunno why but I still prefer the 3:59 version... it's faster and cooler, i dunno...

  • This song is the best trance song ever!!!

  • Filthy brutal explosive summer original masterpiece

  • this track gives me chills, such a good song!

  • Man I want this mix, where can I get an mp3 of it ? anyone ?

  • absolute quality!!! thanx for the trip down memory lane... what a memory!!

  • 1994...

  • fascinating track. in my opinion simply the best version ever...

  • @MrSethticles all people can't have the same views about things.. and Im happy about that, that makes you individual ;) best wishes to you my friend

  • @sigma6PinFloyd I accidentally downvoted this FFFFFFUUUUUUUU class track though. Real quality from the golden age of trance!

  • @MrSethticles probably no good at an abba night :) but its been rockin dance floors for 16 years ! is everybody else wrong and your mr right? lol

  • @StagTowner -- I might be the only person to think this is shit track but to me it is... MFS were coming out with some crazy timeless records, search their back catalogue. Microglobe High on Hope (92 summer remixes) Mystic Force Frontier EP release and Cosmic Baby who pretty much never had a bad record. To me these are all worth checking out and far more original and before PVD for an angel. Unsure what music you are into but i was heavily into the German trance techno sound from 1990 - 1993

  • @MrSethticles theres a world of differance between me and you chap, I dont make negative comments about music i dont like because I have this rule where i only listen to music I do like..........and please dont try strangling me with your expert view on german techno! iv a loft buckling under the weight of 9,000 whites, acetates and test pressings...........no scooter btw lol

  • @StagTowner -- you selling any of those white labels... :)

  • @MrSethticles iv not sold a record in 45 years of collecting ! why start now :p

  • @MrSethticles you're not the only one with that opinion, I'm not crazy about this track, but I'd rather talk to you about how 1990-96 were some of the best years of trance. I dig the stuff from Sven Vath and Oliver Lieb at the time, not to mention tons of techno from that era too.

  • @TMundo - I was a massive German Techno lover, Torsten Fenslau by far was the genius behind Germany's new sound, some very early Oliver Lieb rocked, later on by 92 93 MFS were killing it with Cosmic Baby and Microglobe, my favorite German label is BOY records 1990 - 93, Dance 2 Trance stuff i love as well, even PVD remix of Take a Freefall is awesome, match with Love stimulation never heard anything good from him again. Early eye Q too had some choons, Brainchild symtery C Vernons Wonderland

  • @MrSethticles I really like Sven Vath's earlier stuff circa 94. Also Oliver Lieb. They are the two best trance artists in my opinion. I also like Ian Pooley nowadays, he's done some deep house fused with brazillian and 80's r&B that's pretty impressive. Then there's FSOL, The Orb, Orbital, and american artists like Moby and BT that I dig as well. France has quite a bit of electronic funk that I like too.

  • @MrSethticles Absolutely second that. Don't forget Platipus,LePetitPrince, etc.,Harthouse,Force Inc.,and so many more :). '89-'94 were the dawn of (what we back then called) Techno, driven by the sheer explosion of creativity in every direction of new electronic sounds.

Nice, that some people still admire the origins (sure, e-music origins are way much older (50s-70s)).

But regarding the vast outburst of a new, placid and humble el.-party-scene, the early 90s are unmatched, a time of its own.

  • You are soo cool, I want to be you!

  • @MrSethticles thats as far as your brain goes

  • Comment removed

  • @MrSethticles i roared laughing reading that comment, so funny.

  • @MrSethticles So you realy are serieus... Strange, this is damn strange, I personally think your IQ isn't pretty high...

  • hated this track then and hate it more now... such a kiddy rave sound and not what true german trance was producing at the time.. a gimmick track to make cash

  • Oh dear... I've just had an eargasm!

  • @SYGZY I agree with this post divide by zero.

Oh yeah. Let the chaos ensue.

  • classic trance tune-thanks

  • there is just something about them early 90 drum beats that sounds so cool, pvd was way ahead of the times back in 94 when he made this classic up :)

  • i was a year old!!!

  • Amazing track for year 1994, really ahead.

  • Love this version, it only feels slightly dated with the 90s doubletap drum breakdowns.

  • @SiNapses77 I actually love those bits!

  • finally, thx so much !!!

  • had some great party's with this track back in those days ; ) miss the good old days....

  • Great track! I thought this one was released in 1997 or so...

  • To me the original is always the best. The same is with this song. I had 4 years when I first heard it and it never gets old! One of the tunes that got me into trance music!

  • This soundtrack makes me feel something. It's an emotion I've never felt before.

  • this is such an amazing set.......... I want the 90's technics and techno and trance back, now we have shit music on cds and comp.programmes, thats a misunderstanding, the old machines are the best!

  • legendary track

  • Essex Uni underground!!!

  • i perfer this over the 2009 1 butthey both good

  • great stuff...feels like yesterday. ahead of its time for sure. it brings my mind so much peace it does. thumbs up for this post.

  • kiero comentar que escuche este track en el año 2000 en un aestacion de radio del DF y quede facinado con la musica del maestro Van Dyk. lo tengo grabado en casette. muy buena para escucharla una y otra vez

  • the good old times

  • @Radagis2 indeed, they sure were, weren't they. :P i wonder what happened?

i guess thats what happens, when you trust someone else, to do jobs you wish you could do...lol. what a joke the world has become indeed, these fast times, are wreckless, more dangerous than ever. so glad i am not an idiot about myself anymore.

let all those young hip doods get aids...i'll chill to my tunes, and blaze. honey, comes and goes...everyone knows.

  • For An Angel !!!

  • i was born in 1994 xD

  • if only we knew how hard it would be to have them now rekerds r an will be the best

  • EXCLUSIVE FOR 1994

  • if someone has .mp3 version of this please pm me, i can't find it and the quality is really bad if you download it from youtube...ty

    Really love this version!

  • wicked.

  • Yep, heard love the rest but this is BEST, no messing......

  • For me the best part is from 3:50 till the end. I love listening to that various sounds with closed eyes and goosebumps... I hear each of sample separately. Masterpiece.

  • @corradzisz i do actually get goosebumps when i hear a tune i like ha

  • The Original is the best!!

  • Great tune from a great DJ. I like this original version much more than the 2009 remix.

  • i was exactly 3 months old when the album was released ^_^

  • in 1994 I had 10 years and this song is the best!!

  • I love it. A great piece of music. When this came out, I was aged 2 yrs:)

  • love the part 0:50 - 1:15

    a twist in the song

    makes it unique

i wonder how techno is like last time....

    so ur 31 right now?

this song is not bad compared to the newest one

so this is the first version of for an angel?

  • yes I think the '94 45 RPM release was the first version. Should ask Paul if necessary ;)

  • @sigma6PinFloyd

yep this is the original version

but people think 1998 angel in heaven radio mix is the original mix

  • i was born in this year! and compare this song to this year's song! its so different! wow, such a journey....

  • What a tune, so many memories!!!!

  • It was the very first time I spend in a club, 3000 people, I was sixteen, and then they played this song

  • very special song for me...brings back great memories song of my life:D

  • pvd!!! woooooooooooooo am i the only guyanaese who loves pvd

  • @ houseangel81

bist du mit paul bzw. mathias befreundet?

  • The wall droped 89 ... I am also a child of east germany and I've been with Paul from the beginning. So whats the problem?

  • Damn... I'm so mad that i'm so young and was born on the wrong side of Berlin wall. Missed the whole damn era of trance. You can't call music which is done today - trance. The song sounds amazing. It just makes me feel if it would be 90's...

  • Shows how shit the new remix is..good track

  • Comment removed

  • Wow..i thaught it was 1998-9 track..

  • anyone of you knows if "45 RPM" means 45 rotations per minute or 45 remixes per minute?

  • lol

  • lol? it means 45 lol's per minute? xD

  • it means rotations per minute

  • this is from album :"Paul Van Dyk - 45 RPM"

  • Guys, this version is better than the 2009 version!

  • U be right. I know this version right in 1995 when it came out. And after this I like dj's play it but they dont. They play the new covers from PvD, but I dont like them, too. This track in large dancehalls played makes me goosebumps :)

  • try mixin yourself this 1995 version with the one with the beach video and the 2009 version and eventually the goosebumps will explode into an interstelar orgasm

  • now thats a very good idea mix all 3 ov em in and there you have a dance music classic for many years 2 come

  • yes it is

  • yeah - he should let it be, stop rehashing it and work on a new tune.

  • The Hymne of trance!

  • Thanks For Sharing

    sigma6PinFloyd

  • You be welcome. my friend! :)

  • Classic tune back on my time zone the white label one with the sing in it was a tune none the less great add, wish my LP didnt get nicked i had this tune!!! Lovaaa!

  • what a tune. timeless

  • My God!!! am i that old??

A real flashback listening to this track, this original version, is the best....

What happened to PVD he used to compose so good tracks...... like those with Cosmic Baby.....

I really miss those trance years, i really do

  • Love this imperfect version !

They removed the Choir voice which sounds ackward. And the dry 909 drums.

For me this the best version.

  • This is the real "For an Angel". Back in 1994 or 1995 when I first heard this on the radio, I loved it. Paul van Dyk dedicated this song for his mother, the radio host said.

  • song really came out in 94'. great song so ahead of its time, its still a jam in alot of clubs 09'

  • yep!! I LOVE IT, already in 1994, then after then again in 1998, but '94 is much better!!!
