  • This show looks cool to bad other theme parks cant get the rights and use it for themselves.

  • It looks like a fairly good show, but i think i have more ideas for it, if someone gave me the money, i reckon i could put on a better show!

  • what was that thing at 5:15

  • @MrJohnnylama It's a kite with two spark gerbs, flown from a small speedboat which does a loop around the lake. A really special showstopping effect I haven't seen used before, and which is used very poorly in the new Freestyle Music Park's show.

  • As another poster said, the video does not do justice to the real show itself. It was amazing in person, and I was very sad to see this park go bankrupt. :( I live down the road from it, so seeing this any time I want to was amazing.

  • i saw this like a year ago before it closed but i LOVED it!!!

  • This video doesn't do justice to the real show......... it's not possible for any video to do it real justice. The show was absolutely awesome!

  • that was awesome last summer, we were gonna go this yr till we found out it changed

  • Even the kite (in the new show, a tandem-five) is used poorly; brought out in the middle of a lot of other stuff, it's lost, and the kites' trails fizzle out about halfway around the loop. Here, it adds just the right bit of magic to the ending. This kite effect, pulled by a speedboat visible near the end as it circles around, is really unique; a flowing, human element that AFAIK no one else has done.

  • The replacement, using the same equipment, for Freestyle Music Park has none of the charm of the original. Theme seems to be the general idea of 'classic rock', as it uses many short clips of songs that don't mesh and has bits that sound like someone tuning a crackly radio past instantly-recognizable bits of songs. The fireworks timing is off, and it just ends up being a jumble, though there are a few short bits that work.

  • This great show is kaput. What made it amazing was that, despite being made by none of the bigs (WET, Waltzing Waters, etc.) and being a mix that is often done poorly (fountains/lights, fireworks, lasers and multimedia) it was spectacular. And I believe it was designed in-house. The fireworks timing and the restraint - many shows use up all the good stuff early and leave nothing to close with - made it special.

  • It is re opening, however, all of the HR endorsements are gone. The rollercoasters now no longer tie in with The Eagles or Zeppelin in any remote context. And most sadly of all, the Nights in White Satin: The Trip attraction...is kaput. Hard Rock Park, we hardly knew ye.

  • The owner sucked money out of this place. That was a very pretty show; not much in terms of 'boom' but it was very eye-candiful.

  • i hope its stays this way when it reopens

  • No advertising. I never heard of HRP until I just happened upon it in an article on the HR Cafes. Opened. Closed. That's all folks.

  • The park IS reopening under a new buyer!

Should open again around Memorial Day 2009!

  • I can't wait!

  • That was really cool.

  • I loved it there! I wish it didn't close but I can see why, didn't they spend like $1000 on fireworks at every show!

  • they closed the park?

  • Doomed from the Get-Go It was mismanaged badly. I believe on purpose. I believe John Binkowski is a crook. This place bled money from day one. John Binkowski was bankrupt and his property (The Ice Theatre) was being forclosed on when he signed the loans on the park. Do you think he is bankrupt now? After paying himself a HUGE salary for a year. I have been on unemployment since september and I am losing my ass because of that prick.

  • R.I.P.

  • So sad to see this.

    Park closed forever.

  • Isn't 5:05-5:15 kinda dangerous? The firework seems so close to you.

  • no. I thought the same thing but then I went there and the launchers for the fireworks are angled outward towards the water so they wont hit you. lol.

  • My favorite theme park! it was sooooo awsome, and this was the icing on the cake!

  • lol Really? I live right next to it and it's being shut down because it went bankrupt.

  • well many people are interested in purchasing the park

  • good sync but was rather lame over all. I expected it to be much much more. Did Queen no justice at all. Sry HR... (Still love ya)

  • whats the ssecond song?

  • Its all one song, genius

  • The Hard Rock Theme Park in Myrtle Beach just declared bankrupcy and closed its doors after being open only 6 months. Maybe it wasn't the replacement for the Pavillion that they thought it would be. The Pavillion Nostalgia Park is better even though it is mostly kiddy rides.

  • I miss the Pavillion.

  • that show was amazing. so beautiful it almost made me cry.

  • I'm a water show nut. I've seen a lot of shows over the years, everything from WET's incredible Bellagio to Waltzing Waters' "Liquid Fireworks" to the massive shows of China and India. And this is still the closest I've ever seen to a recreation of the '39 NY World's Fair's magnificent "Lake of Dreams" show. Well-choreographed; the guitar "playing" the solo, the chase around the entire lake, the remote-controlled rocket, all seem to make for a show that wows the audience. Bravo to the creators.

  • i worked there u guys u should definitly go if u hadnt already it soooo awesome!!

  • I'm going here in 4 days.

  • It's closed 'till '09.

  • i was there a couple days ago it was so awesome

  • i'm in s.c. on vacation and i'm deffinately gonna see the park. i'm so psyched that they have bohemian rhapsody fireworks.

  • awesome...

  • i was there to see it and it was one of the best fireworks displays i ever saw.

thou it was much better to have been there

  • AMAZING. Now let's see Knights of Cydonia :]

  • Oh, fucking yes.

  • It's got a long way to go before it reaches the heights of a Disney firework show. Instead of playing just Queen they should mix in a few more Artists like The Beatles, Hendrix etc. I'd like to see Strawberry Fields in-sync with the show.

  • I wORK THERE AND IT NEVER GETS OLD BUT I DO HAVE TO SAY THE HALF A MILLION DOLLAR 4TH OF JULY FIREWORKS SHOW WAS BETTER

  • what's in the phone booth? i'll probably never get to go seeing as i live in maine

  • the phone booth?

do you mean the place under the gibson guitar?

  • A Disney fireworks show, it is not...BUT...an excellent show nonetheless! Not bad for a park only a few months old. Bravo!

  • man the neon lights were awesome and i soooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo want to goooooooo!!!!

  • park is amazing. local discount ftw

  • ftw?

  • ftw: for the win, is kinda like woot, or whatever

    LED ZEPPELIN THE RIDE FTW!!!

    lol

  • This place is definitely on my to do list this summer.

  • This park was amazing! This fireworks were just unbelievable. Go to this park!

  • Did it form a crown at the end?

  • i went last night

  • that was awesome, i can't wait to see it in person.

  • this palce si awesome i went a ocuple ays ago at myrtle beach and saw this!

  • awesome! thanks for sharing this with everyone. good quality too! i'll be visiting there in about a month

  • Im not exactly thrilled with entire park, but this was cool.

  • fuck you dude go suck your moms dick Queen is way better that Guns n Roses

  • the homlessguy is so more right

  • That one i believe is better than Disney's cause i love that song and the lights are just awesome on the solo and guitar riff.

And who could have a better voice than Freddy?

I mean Phil Lynott come s close but no, Freddy is the man.

  • ur just a dumb ass.

queen is 1 of the best bands ever.

i agree with ac/dc, van halen, and the beatles but where the fuck do u get gnr?

    gnr is terrible.

Brian May is a 1000000x better guitarist than slash. and wat song is better that bohemian rhapsody.

and zeppelin is the best band to live.

  • go to the park before you start running your mouth, if you would you would see there are AC/DC, Van Halen, and ESPECIALLY Beatles influences all over the park, hell... there is even a section called "British Invasion" i mean, thats like an entire section devoted to them... so get your head out of your rearend, you obviously are just upset that you can't experience the greatness of this new park. It is absolutely fantastic.

  • you do relaise how much harder it is to get the rights to anything my Led Zep? and its just opened, its not like every park in the world started off small and became huge. Give it a chance

  • Kid, it's too bad that every single band you say sucks has a larger fan base than those you like, if they didn't wouldn't we be seeing AC/DC The Ride. or Beatles Life in the slow lane and maybe Van Halen's Eruption?

  • Haha.

I liked the fireworks popping out to "We will not let you go."

    XD

    Pretty good show.

  • This park is, indeed, very awesome. lol

Take it from someone who lives in Myrtle Beach and has an annual pass.

Tourists, come and give Myrtle Beach your money!!!!!!

  • yes i agree tourist come give us your money so we get better local discounts!

  • yea, i'm totally going ^_^

  • these days they have lighters in the water across the lake lastime i went

  • i love this song...it reminds me of waynes world where thier driving and singing this song

  • the kite thing was pretty sick, but the Epcot show still owns

  • I like it. Don't know if it's better than Disney's, but it beats Universal Studios.

  • The perfect show... The perfect park... And finally it's not about stupid cartoons...

    Hardrock park... perfection

    :D

  • Cannot wait to go!!!!

  • that was cool

  • The "Waynes World" bit needs to be livend up abit more and not just a green laser light, get more exsplotions in it.

  • true that

  • The kitw thing is very nice.

  • Not too bad (for just seeing it on video)...I hope that the first few minutes of the song will hold the audience's attention long enough so that they dont get bored with it. The ending was nice, I like the use of the boat with the "kite", cool effect esp if you cant see the boat! IMO, it doesnt compare to EPCOT's "Illuminations:ROE"...but I still cant wait to see it in person.

  • I just got a job at HRP and i cant wait to see that show live

  • It's not the greatest of displays but cool enough. It's Bellagio foutains meets Illuminations at Epcot Center. It also reminds me of 'Spectro Blast' that took place at the Miami Vice arena (now Waterworld)at Universal Studios Hollywood. Show only lasted for the summer of 1994 for the studios 30th anniversary. With any firework show these days, it's tough to compare after seeing 'Remember...Dreams Come True' at Disneyland,Ca. That's a firework show.

  • ^ Indeed, "Remember Dream Comes True" is a good show. Leaves people saying "Only disney could do that..."

But this show was all right. But the song made it better! And the guitar string part was cool!

  • Dude, you gotta repost this in high quality, even though it is amazing enough already.

  • Sweet. This looks awesome and I can only image how cool it would be live in person.

  • zoom out.

  • That was pretty damn awesome. Can't go wrong with that song. It was always meant for something like this. I used to do this in Rollercoaster tycoon and in my mind all the time.

    :-D

    Rock on
