Religion vs atheism is a never ending battle. There would never be no demonstrable way to disprove or prove the existence of God. The whole point of religion is to test somebody on how strong his faith is in the existence of god. So we see that your function should, in fact, be b(¬a). That said, I guess you can slap the negation wherever you want and still have the same word.

Agreed, language is often not an accurate representation of the underlying logic. "Non-theist" would probably be a better term; I guess there was a certain bias when the word "atheist" was coined. I'm not sure, but I would assume that it was applied to people who actively "preached" the non-existence of god(s), or at least promoted their own philosophy which did not include any deities. Today the word is used in a broader sense.

I need to point out that atheism is NOT the lack of belief in a god. Atheism is, by its very definition, the belief that there is no god. It is the opposite of theism, which is the belief that (a) god/s exist(s).

It's NOT the same as b(-a) (believing there is no god). There's not even a word for that, because there's an infinite number of things we believe that we believe do not exist. It's not a useful concept.

Religion vs atheism is a never ending battle. There would never be no demonstrable way to disprove or prove the existence of God. The whole point of religion is to test somebody on how strong his faith is in the existence of god. Atheists fail to realize that if there was a demonstrable way to prove religion then there is no sense in having it in the first place. Religion is based on faith not on scientific facts.

I just want to say one thing. With out that blind spot in your eye/vision (which is one of the atheists arguments) you as a person would not see or perform (walk run etc.) the way that you do now.. You most likely would have zero balance, zero sense of depth and other vision related things in which you atheists are capable of studying and taking notice to (riding a bike, skateboarding, noticing a hill etc). Therefore I believe that the blind spot is far from a flaw and farther from a debunking

Also, the argument "where'd God come from" is irrational, since John 1:1 already gives us the answer, he was always there.
