  • what get over it. it's natural in our countries. I do not condone it but that's the way it is. Sincerely I think your staunch intellectual defiance attractive and my goodness how attractive you are. i'm so lucky to not have met you because the heart break i would suffer of realizing that you are far beyond my league.

  • spare me please

  • I've seen this and experienced it in the south of Spain and Spaniards are white. There it's called piropos or piropear. It's the culture and the mentality of men. It's pure machoism and the word itself originates from Spanish. And yes, I've experienced it from just one man, that's how confident they can be.They will just shout or whisper guapa, bella, preciosa or even a whole sentence, like one time this guy said: Tantas curvas y yo sin freno. I was like o.O. Fortunately it's dying away in Spain!

  • Bitch, shut the fuck up.

  • @ray1411 wth? learn some respect.

  • @PencilOverPen Bitch, respect is earned. Your gender does not automatically accord you respect, especially on topics as delicate as this.

  • @ray1411 wth? go get some house training, and learn to not make stupid assumptions. i said respect her, not because of her gender. she isn't being rude or anything, and you talk to her like that? you really have some issues. go talk to someone, like a therapist, you seem to have a hatred for women perhaps?

    well bye!

  • @PencilOverPen I dont have hatred for women. I have a sincere dislike for women who generalize one group of men. I will not allow anyone to demonize my demographic. If she didnt make a broad brushstroke over one group of men, I wouldnt respond this way. Im sick of BW singling out BM like they are the axis of evil. That shit is annoying and should die off. Thats my only qualm with this miscreant. And dont lie, the only reason youre offended by my words is because shes a woman--be honest at least.

  • @ray1411 no actually, if you were being a dumb dick head to a guy, i would of told you about yourself too. and you being a asshole only continues the hate. And many black women, or people, have reasons as to why they dont like black people/men. bad experiences maybe. if you touch fire, and it burns you, then you dont want to touch fire or be around it perhaps. if you have a bad experience with black men, then you dont like black men, so what?

  • @MrBrazilianwomen Wow you really are retarded. You sound like a psycho rapist killer, who will make excuses for anything. I use to work in a mental institution and the way you think is the way all pedophiles think. They think "She really WANTED it. That 9 year old little girl WANTED to F-k me! That's why we did it!" Are you a pedophile? OR a rapist? Because I am sure you are both.

  • @MrBrazilianwomen you are disgusting.

  • I have been harassed while walking and jogging, but not just from black guys but white guys too. But the worst was a black guy who would not stop yelling profanities at me allllll the way up the street. I finally had enough, turned around and screamed back "SHUT THE F*&($ UP !!!!" He was definitely the rape type. Looking back I wish I had just called the police.

  • @vir Man, shut that shit. How convenient? Youve been heckled at by white guys but the worst experience youve had with hecklers was with a black man? And he was the "rape type"? My dear, what are the key physical characteristics of the "rape type"? Please tell me, Ive never heard of this. Look, I know some brothers can be aggressive, but its usually when theyre in packs. You know, at events or corner gatherings. But, you know what? Thats true of all men. I bet the guy in your story wasnt alone.

  • @ray1411 not just in packs.

  • @PencilOverPen Do you have proof?

  • @ray1411 because im a female, like many others, Gets harassed by fucking assholes, who are yes, in Packs. i think i know what im talking about.

  • @PencilOverPen So says you, do you have any footage? Any proof?

  • @ray1411 and no, why the hell would i record some assholes who are harassing me? oh i'd say " oh repeat what you said to me, i have to get this on camera for proof!" yeeaa-No -__- .

  • this guy in my class calls me titty bounce its annoying

  • I see your game is still to ramble and disregard your points as simple quips, all while stating your point and not standing your ground. Youre bullshitting people. Quit with the feminazi bullshit, even worse is youre singling out two groups of men, who are traditionally marginalized. Look, Japanese men grope women on trains and white men rape women at concerts. Stop generalizing. I can tell you may not have too much intimate experience with nonblack people. Thats why your view is so skewed.

  • @ray1411 you have no idea that it's like to be harassed on the street this way. Shut up if you don't know what you're talking about, stupid.

  • @vir This is old as fuck. I guess my other comment inspired this response. But hey, I could be wrong, and Im a bit paranoid. Either way, address the points in my comment, and not try to deflect with more feminazi rhetoric. I think her dumbass shouldnt have singled out two groups of men (i.e., black and latin) like theyre sex crazed animals. All men make some type sound when they see something appealing; the method may be different depending on their background, but is "cat-calling" nonetheless.

  • @virg By the way, how do you define harassment? Because, to me, cat-calling is not harassment. You cant fling such a harsh word around without taking its true meaning account: When someone is subject to aggressive pressure or intimidation. Is a whistle too aggressive? Is a "piss piss" too intimidating? If so, then you need to find the nearest rock, crawl under it, and get comfy. That shit is not harassment. Also, I know what if feels like, when Im jogging shirtless women say things. Asshole.

  • Did this broad say "verbal rape"? Wow. Feminazism needs to stop.

  • You are completely right in your opinion. The whole Indian and Asian thing is simple. They are responsible and respectful towards other people because most of them believe in KARMA. and what you said about it being about him and his buddies has NOTHING to do with you. It isn't a compliment or validation anyone who tries to think that is ignorant and weak minded to think that you could possible benefit from stupid comments.

  • Tonya, are ignorant men more sexual? NO, are sexual men more ignorant? It's the whole big head and little head speech. "Which one do you use?" is the question. PIGMENTATION? NO pig men period. Is he an a-hole and a rude b**tard? Asian men are taught Filial Piety (respect for their elders) and their grandmothers and mothers demand respect. ARETHA had the answer to your question. R-E-S-P-E-C-T. Lack of power? NO, lack of respect, no big deal, RUDE.

  • Simple, some cultures don't treat their young males respect for women. Arabian (and other middle eastern islamic) men think all American women are whores because they don't wear a vail. Any male who cat calls in public is trying to impress his friends, not you. He thinks that is "cool" which means he is probably either uneducated and stupid or just rude. Any man who thinks he is worthy to treat you like that is arrogant and conceited. Slavery doesn't have anything to do with being an a-hole.

  • MrBrazillian---I'm pretty sure men just hit on any woman they like regardless of her clothes. I've been dressed in tomboy clothes, cute skirts, & business wear & had people honk their car horns & poke their heads out bus windows & yell out to me. They weren't PROVOKED--I'm 50 feet away! You can't tell someone their clothing is asking for sexual comments. You don't know why I wear what I wear!! Should I never wear sandals because some foot fetishist might think I'm advertising? Stop being pervy!

  • @acapulco214 Thats a great point about the sandals... its true... we never know what someone else may find appealing.

We dont have control of others, but we DO Have control of ourselves & I think some of these male aggressors should understand that they should restrain themselves, rather than imposing their particular sexual fetish on unsuspecting people.

    -Tko

  • MrBarzillianwomen is clearly a misogynist troll.

  • @MrBrazilianwomen i dont understand is explaination that only latino and black men behave like this is because of slavery???? when i heard that i was like this lady is really clueless; this is why i dont like american girls... i cant go talking to a girl on the street, its harassment, can't talk to a girl in mall, harassment, so can a guy meet a girl nowadays...

  • @MrBrazilianwomen Reproductive success for a man is to spread his seed far & wide giving it the best chance for survival. Reproductive success for a woman is to get the BEST seed she can for her ONE Child. Women will Never long for masses of men for fertilization bcz a woman can only carry one child at a time & her parental investment is much more than that of a man. SO OF COURSE yu liked all the sexual attention. You could literally impregnate ALL of them. This is Not the case for Women

    -Tko

  • @MrBrazilianwomen A person who refuses to learn? Surprise, surprise... and you didnt even bother to listen to the end of the video. I actually get LESS cat calls when dressed provocatively.

Its all about power & a predator CANT take the power from a person in control of her OWN sexuality... Instead they try to belittle & minimize the average dressed woman.

    -Tko

  • @MrBrazilianwomen Wait a minute... you're a man? Had I known that, I wouldnt have wasted time responding.

Carry on... there's no reasoning with a fool. Especially one who feels its withing his "Male Right" to harass & attack women, and that ultimately its the Woman's fault.

I can't wait till your columbian girlfriend has you snuffed in the middle of the night by her true Latin King Pin... Tell the fish hello for the rest of us.

    -Tko

  • @MrBrazilianwomen Just watch the documentary silly. You are also part of the problem making excuses for harassment.

In America a woman's breasts are sexualized and demonized. Even YOU comparing breasts to a penis. A sex organ? Breasts are to nourish young.

By the time I finish this message 9 females will have been RAPED. I guess its somehow THEIR Fault too huh?

    -Tko

  • @MrBrazilianwomen Open your eyes. WOmen in business suits. 11 yr old girls with NO BREASTS on their way to school get cat called. Look for a documentary called "War Zone" by Media Education Foundation...

As a matter of fact I will ADD it to the description of the video... just click above. Tell me if you felt the way that caucasian woman was dressed "Provoked" these men.

    (Listen to yourself)

    -Tko

  • women cat call as well & everything else, just not as much as men, i think it has something to do with the up bringing of most people in certain area's

  • As far as I know in America, the reason black men do this type of thing due to lack of respect for women, lack or religious practices and lack of great authorical figures surrounding them. Most young black aren't chivalrous. They don't respect the often single mothers that have raised them and there's nobody around who's respected enough to stop them from doing such things! Men in general see woman and admire, but insulted as a compliment is a black man's craft. They've got it down!

  • lmao!!!

    trolls ="Three Billy Goats Gruff"

  • If your "complaining" within your black community about the offensive behavior of these raunchy black men is constantly being disregarded or ignored, what makes you think the black guys on the corner shouting out this abuse at black women are going to care how you feel? You black women and men create these bugaboos/trolls for which black women to deal. Doesn't the hand that rocks the cradle rule the world? If so, why are black mothers (and black fathers) allowing their sons to be assholes?

  • The reason Indian men do not harass women in public is because their culture is based upon arranged marriages. Quite simply, a man would be held accountable by his community for behaving in a trashy manner. His stock would drop and no family worth their salt would want him to marry their daughter.

  • You should go to europe. Theres a lot of that going on over there. I studied abroad in Italy and went to Spain and in those countrys, forget about it. Plus ive seen white guys do it plenty of times. I would have no problem with the vid if it didnt only target us and latino men

  • Damn, I have a lot of typos. My mom was in the room and I was trying to hurry up and type. She's so nosy, lol.

  • Cont.3 I know that I'm going to have to tougher before someone strange man thinks I'm his number victim. Please, do you have any advice, lol.

  • Cont.2 asked if he can walk me home. I said I had a boyfriend(usually works). He said,"Boyfriend, no see",lol. I kept saying no and eventually he understood. He asked for a kissed and so being nice me, I TRIED giving him a kiss on the cheek, but he moved his mouth over to mine and tried to stick in tongue in my mouth. I just learned now that I'm going to have to reject harder. The latino population is high here in texas than Missouri, and now I'm going to have to fight black men and LatinosCont3

  • I'm from Saint Louis, and when I moved to Fort Worth...boy, oh boy, lol. I got into an arguement with my brother and I started walking around the neighborhood at night. I pass my some Mexican(he told me) and one guy started walking on path going my direction. Our paths meet up together and he said Hola!, I said hello and kept on walking. Then, he grabbed my hand, I'm a bit naive(i'm changing, lol) and young(20), so I was just going along for the ride, lol. I knew something was up when he...cont1

  • I'm a little late on this one but here I go anyway. I'm from the Caribbean. And I experience this kind of thing every day. As a result, I've developed a "beast-face" when walking by myself. I say it's a straight case of "nothing to lose" syndrome. The men who do this are black, broke and busted. They're trying to bring women down to their level, because they don't think they can elevate theirs. The sad thing is, they never wake up to realize that its the company they keep that keeps them down.

  • THIS BLACK WOMAN IS RACIST I APROVE THIS BLACK BIT CH UGLY AS S FUC K FAT AS S FU CK I BET SHE GOT A BIG BELLY

  • Seriously? It takes you 30 minutes to break this down? it's not THAT complex. Traditional, sexist countries have diff ways to oppress women than men of more middle class, educated society. It's cultural.

  • the answer isnt pigmentation..anser is more about culture

  • @mexicankunggpao

oh i see what you mean...

i didn't mean it in any way, i just wanted to show an example.

thank you for clearing up, though. :D

  • @nomercy31 Lol, that's actually a good idea.

  • I don't know if someone brought this up but in Japan men and women have to ride in different trains because the men can't keep their hands off the women.

  • @TheBestMusicChannel8 Please let us know where you have done your research and gathered this information... also, please let us know which part of Japan this happens in, in which year. Show your documentation please.

    -Tko

  • @TonyaTko "Japan Tries Women-Only Train Cars to Stop Groping - ABC News"

"Men in Japan Bum Rush Women’s Only Train Cars in Protest" I'm surprised you haven't heard of this TKO. But there you go. :o)

I know what u mean about this situation though. I'm a very petite girl so I never had to deal with it in that way. I've just experienced men trying to get me to stop and talk to them and then getting cursed out and dissed when I don't. Or followed for a few blocks. NO MEANS NO.

  • @TheBestMusicChannel8 The second quote is from newzjapan. com.

  • @TonyaTko Men should always respect women in some kind of a respectful way! If she's not interested in talking to the man, he should leave her alone or it becomes harassment!

  • Being mexican, it makes me feel sad to see when males in my demographic or minorities degrade women my catcalling them. i also feel sad and bad that i can't do anything when my friends tell me that they have seen older latino men catcalled them, stare at them, or say weird things to them. i hope that men start appreciating women more and stop this.

  • lol didn't knw what a cat call was b4 this vid but i got one in atlanta airport 2 guys working there were like "look at that look at that" i felt uncomfortable i was 17 and 1 of the guys was staring at me.we get it here i nthe uk it tends to be african guys, that say "whats ur name,i wna be ur friend just talk to u" argh its so annoying.they are so pervy.

  • I just saw a doc on the Puerto Rican day parade attacks in 2000, there's this one scene where this one lady unknowingly skates into the crowd and gets attack. And this one guy actually shouts "Yo watch out for that one she's white!" wow

  • @supaspydamn can you share the title of that documentary?

  • Its true for actual dogs ie: pit bulls, akitas, etc. when two or more are together the barking comes quicker. Sidenote: its usually the smaller dog first with big brother behind him waiting for the true threat.

  • I think it's disgusting tbh I hate it. There's nothing wrong with calling me and sayin i'm sexy or beautiful but to be telling me what you wanna do to me - hell no.

Black and Latino men are more confident when it comes to talking to women I feel. They don't care what others think even if they're aggressive with the "compliments".

  • Thanks Tonya for such an insightful video. I'm a black guy (fine, I'm mixed) and I've never done this or seen this happen to women, however I've heard a lot about it. There's a huge difference between random flattery to strangers and tasteless verbal harassment, though.

  • I feel that men flatter and this is some what complement in some groups, meaning If it is not insulting to the female, then it is compliment, Every group and class of men have their own ways to flatter the opposit sex, or (in order to get her attention) some may work very hard,

  • however, When men are together, with other men that are alike them, and they see a beautiful woman, many times this is done to draw attention to himself and show that he expresses an intrest in a beautiful woman, Some times the cat calls are so lame the woman can do notheing else but smile, however some can be annoying with it.

  • I do think that black and Latino men are more associated with this behavior socially but I don't think it's a behavior that is black and Latino only. It's a behavior that is related to aggression and misogyny . So we all know construction workers, mostly white are known to cat call in a pack. think of movies like The Accused with Jodie Foster, or numerous cases and stories in the middle east like Mukhtar Mai.

  • (cont.) many arab men also do this, especially north African men in their own countries. To be honest, most times men just cat-call because they have nothing better to do & try their luck with anything in a skirt.

  • In the UK, a lot of Asians (Indians, Afgans etc.) cat-call, however, it's more discreet than what I've experienced in America. When I was in New York City, at least 5 men per day would approach me in a grown up fashion & actually strike up conversations (they were black/Latin), whereas only a couple of groups of black guys/Latin guys would make those kissing noises at me. In the UK, the white young men are pretty much only disrespectful towards white girls who look like whores.

  • I would call it verbal rape because its basically a man going out of their way to exert their power over a woman. When I am aggressively cat called it makes me feel unsafe in my own skin. It is not a very good feeling at all. I was in Times Square last night and there are those men who are advertising comedy shows and such and I got cat called by every single one of them that I passed that was black. None of the other races of women around me got the same treatment.

  • i've never been cat called per-se,but i was getting on the greyhound bus in cleveland and this "guard" or whatever randomly asks me out of all the ppl out there to stay in cleveland with him at damn 4am!! i was wearing a freakin hoodie and jeans and nothing was showing and i looked far from friendly lol. guys of all races just like hearing themselves talk and make women feel uncomfortable.

  • Comment removed

  • White men do it too!!! My friend was walking in down town Manhattan. There was a group of men walking behind her and making all sorts of comments, which she ignored b/c she didn't think they were being directed to her... Once she turned the corner the men shouted AT her screaming things about her butt. I definitely think its sexual harrassment. I'm about to start recording ppl who do it to me and threaten to sue!!! I HATE IT!!

  • I've been subject to this since 14 years old. I'm now 39 and because I'm into fitness. Men from all age groups Black and Latino men always give unnecessary sexual comments. Mostly in the urban communities. Thank goodness for mp3 and any other musical devices to ignore the nonsense. Bless you for this much needed discussion.

  • I've been subject to this since 14 years old. I'm now 39 and because I'm into fitness. Men from young old all age groups Black and Latino men always give unnecessary sexual comments. Thank goodness for mp3 and any other musical devices to ignore the nonsense. Bless you for this much needed discussion.

  • You need to change into something that is less revealing so called black woman!

  • Tonya you're categorized as a reporter. What are you reporting? I feel like you're gaming youtubes system so you appear in the sub 100 rankings of reporters.

  • Some white guys do this. Depends on social class. Poor, uneducated hicks and rednecks have enormously high self esteem, when it comes to flirting with women. Some ethnic white men are like this too (Italians, Irish, etc.). It's more subtle maybe, but it's there. You are correct that more educated men of any race are less likely to be sexist and barbaric toward women, but women don't like nerdy guys. Some of this is a two way street. Women need to stop falling for the hijinks of these dumb men.

  • Tonya I agree this is a huge problem in the black and Latino community. I don’t think they harass you because there poor but I do believe it’s because of the lack of respect in the community, media images, what is being pass down from one black man to another.

  • I’ve only experience one white man approaching me in a disrespectable way and the reason why I think he approach me in that manner because he live in a black neighborhood. I believe he have seen and heard other black men doing and saying things like this to other black women. My conclusion is that we as women have to show a person that this not the proper way to speak or approach me but you do have to assess the environment to know if it’s safe to respond to a person for you safety.

  • Hey, Tonya when you came out in your red pumps and breast out I think the men were Intimidated of you. What you were doing was owning your own sexuality and not ashame of your curves.I've experience that also and it baffels me as of when you do come out with your breast sitting up high and 6in pumps on why do then they don't have the balls to approach you.

  • They can't act alone if they are cowards. I agree with every thing you say except that White men and Asian men don't treat the women with the same disrespect. We're all made from the same dirt. There is good and bad in every shade no matter what color you are. Maybe some of them act that way is because they are lacking something and then over compensating for something else who knows? I really like your work.

  • Ignorant men aren't more sexual. From a psychological aspect lack of an ego to keep your id in check will drive you to go after your sexual desires sometimes without much thought. It's well known that neglectful parenting will lead to and over developed id and while most Black and Latino men grow up without a father, they''re almost more than likely to fall into the this category.

  • thank you for this video! did you add scary music underneath the vlog? it makes this video very serious and kinda scary.

  • to answer your question, i think it's harassment. i'm not an object. i'm an intelligent grown woman and deserve to be spoken to as such. i've had some scary instances where men have gotten very aggressive w me bc i turned down their advances so now i just ignore them completely. but at times it can be very scary. es at night if i'm on the train by myself and some man is hissing at me. i've started riding in the car with the conductor at night just to be safe and i always take cabs late at night.

  • @chescaleigh WOW! Its a shame that you have to walk in discomfort and fear like that.

    -Tko

  • @TonyaTko when i was in florida once time a guy tried to run me off the road with his car because i laughed at his lame attempts to "holla" while sitting at a light. another time a guy started threatening me on the street outside of a starbucks after i forcefully told him to stop talking to me and making vulgar sexual innuendos. thankfully 2 guys stepped in and the store manager called the police. it was really scary. since then i'm honestly afraid to respond to these men.

  • @chescaleigh In NY there are very strict laws against behaviour like that and obviously these criminals KNOW it by term. I was harassed by two angry men last week. I asked them if they KNEW what "AGGRAVATED HARASSMENT" was and one guy nodded, looked down, then they BOTH apologized one at a time.

Like the commercial where the roaches run when they hear "RAID!"

Read up the definition of the term, see if it applies, and keep finger on the 911 speed dial.

    -Tko

  • Slightly off topic but I recently saw a picture of a girl who was trying to campaign for women, her picket read; "Society teaches 'don't get raped' rather than 'don't rape'." -- this was running through my head throughout your video & I believe it so as well. Women should not dress to avoid being raped.

  • @xWeexMoOx amen! we need to teach men to respect women no matter how they're dressed. clothing is not an invitation to be disrespected!

  • Verbal rape??? wow!! what next would they come up with next??

  • ok, here's a reality check for you feminist fucks........NO ONE CARES

  • i dont care if a fool catcalls me but if his funkyass touch im puttin his ass on his head i had 1 dude try to grab my crotch n i almost broke his neck he gone tell his boy to get his gun n i told his boy if he move ill breaK his neck netherless i dont have these problems anymore lol they even scared to whisper round me i dont play with they asses

  • @marcell6464 stfu bitch, you didn't do shit

  • @benismyusername bitch im not ya mother ya oleass granny ya fukin uglyass ass daughter or ya cracKed out sista ok u dum hoe BITCH U TOUCH ME ILL KNOCK YA BITCHOUT ASS OUT HOE FOOLS DONT DO SHIT BUT TALK LIKE YA PUSSYASS U DIK IN THE BOOTY HOE

  • i can watch this over and over =)

the roots are pack pressure, misogeny, sexual frustration (lack of a healthy regular sexual life) and lack of proper upbringing. i've actually seen a father teaching his 3-yr old son cat-calling women on the street. crazy.

  • looool

    totally!

  • I've always had a dilemma with this type of attention. I feel like there are more appropriate and respectful ways to let a woman know that you find her attractive. A simple, you're very attractive or you are very beautiful would be just fine. And i've always wondered why these men felt it was appropriate to talk to me or women in general this way. Overall, i've just come to assumption that there are a lot of women out there with low self-esteem that get a boost when men holler at them like that

  • I have so much to say but i'm going to try to make in short. I agree with you Tonya. I am a white woman who happens to carry a lot of junk in the truck (haha) therefore, i've found my figure is more accepting of black and latino men. I'm from a big city where there are many different nationalities and I must say when it comes to these cat calls as you mentioned black men are where i seem to be getting the most attention from.

  • Italian men are notoriously known for being cat-callers,so white men do it too, i live in a white ghetto and yeah white guys are just as bad,,,all men are the same, throw rocks at them

  • ALSO! It's not only males! I've gotten cat-calls from lesbians as well! The more butch ones who (ironically) also listen to rap!.. Another reason I believe it's the stereotypical music culture that they choose to relate to.

  • I'm not sure the amount of skin you show change the amount of cat-calls. I've worn guy's shorts and hoodie and still got hit on. I wonder if they think it actually does help them get a girl by giving her sexual attention? I think it does relate to the music life-style they participate in. I'm sorry, but guys into rap music are the ones who do it... at least to me. Do rap songs/video make them believe that's how you talk to women?? I think so. And yes.. I DO like rap. Don't think I don't.

  • Two things to add to the conversation.

    1. Italian American men do this. A LOT especially those from the Northeast.

Also many construction sites are FAMOUS for this kind of behavior even so far back as the 1920s and 30s. So...white men do this a lot. Lower and middle class working ones yes. But mainly to white women so maybe that's why you haven't seen it from them?

    2. Japanese men are notoriously lecherous. They molest young girls openly on trains there. Just saying.

  • @Lockjaw78 to your second comment... I wouldn't say they "molest girls openly".. Anybody caught doing it gets in TONS of trouble, they do it because the trains are so packed that most people can't see or tell who did it (that's not so "open"), and there are entire cars dedicated to females passengers only because of it.

To say they do it "openly" makes it sound like people let them get away with it, which they definitely don't... BUT YES Japanese men have (obviously) had some issues with it.

  • @ApathyofHeart When I say openly they do it in public yes crowded train makes it hard to see who is doing it but the supremely overcrowded public transit train is not purely a Japanese thing though. I mean it got so bad things had to be done to prevent it I mean they even had to enable cellphone cameras to make an audible noise to discourage guys from taking upskirt photos of young girls.

I didn't mean to make it sound like they got away with it just that Asian men do it too. In their way.

  • Much love to you. I'm not dropping science. I'm speaking from my experience. We all have different personalities. When I was younger, I spoke my mind how much I did not appreciate the cat calls. Instead of the situation getting better, the harassment got worse. So, I had to look in the mirror. Embrace the assets of what guys liked and forced me to accept my curves. Depending on the guy, if a girl tell a guy off he might continue. And next time, his actions may be more humiliating.

  • I agree also that it is due to the need to "empower" themselves at the expense of women. Only insecure, disempowered, weak men do this to women. The majority of black and latino men are societally disempowered and exhibit an active hatred toward women, particularly black women because we are the only people below them in the social hierarchy. This is one of the reasons why I stay away from them. Many educated, gainfully employed black/latino men still openly disrespect black women.

  • This is a very insightful and thoughtful look into the possible reasons this type of behavior occurs. The theory of people feeling more comfortable with their own doesn't fly in this care. I rarely see men other than black or Latino treating their own women this way. The theory of these men feeling powerless sounds more believable. Cat calling is not intended to compliment-it's meant to insult and degrade.

And I have been cat called by men who were alone.

  • In Asia this things do not happen. But in Latin American countries is like quite often.

  • She was real bold about it too. Right in front of the customers real slick like a pick pocket like yeah I did it and so you aint gone do nothing about it. Like who would believe a black man over this white lady that worked at a bank dressed in professional attire right?

  • @MrJchrist777 Thanks for commenting. I know there are women who sexually harass men, & as you see from your experience it was more about taking away your power than actually trying to have sex with you. Also, we shouldnt use cases of the exception to argue as "The rule" as we all know that the cases in which women "Catcall" men on the street is so rare that it shouldnt be mentioned to refute or justify the high frequency of men imposing this behavior onto women.

Also, Im sorry that happ 2U

    -Tko

  • I didn't do anything to deserve that type of behavior from this woman. I never flirted with her or anything like that. I was completely shocked like wow did that just happen to me from a white lady and at work too. I should of told her boss at the bank she worked at but I didn't.

  • This is Jamal again. This message is also for Tonya Tko. I am a black man that used to have a part time job at a commercial grocery store called Giant. I don't know if you ever heard of it. I know in New York you have Path Mart. Any way there used to be a bank inside of this grocery store where worked at part time. This white girl that worked at the bank PNC bank felt my butt while I was working on front end ringing up customers.

  • Hey, Tonya - have you heard of Michael Baisden? I think his first public work was a book he wrote entitled, "Why Men Cheat", but don't quote me on that. I wonder what you think of his perspective. He doesn't cut corners or sugarcoat, either. I think of him as a male version of you. Let me know, I'm really curious. . .

  • @woodie62 Ive never heard of this book. I didnt even know Baisden had gotten into relationship book writing like Steve Harvey. nice :) Is the book any good?

    -Tko

  • @TonyaTko Honestly, I hadn't read it either. But he was given lectures locally here in Cali and probably along the Western states. His main focus was on relationships between Black men and women, how and why they have been broken and continue to break down. He pulls no punches and his perspective doesn't cater exclusively to women. He doesn't bash, but he is frank and brutally honest. You should here some of his lectures, I think they may be available. He also as a radio show.

  • @TonyaTko Almost missed your question, he is similar to Steve Harvey. But he's not a professing Christian. In fact, much of what he says isn't bridled for anyone. He's a self-proclaimed ex-player. You've got to hear him or at least some of the monologues/dialogues he's given. They are pretty much a reflection of the subjects in the book. But it could be the other way around, though.

  • @TonyaTko his book was actually his first success. it's how he led up to the radio show and he self-published it.

  • This Jamal again from Harrisburg Pennsylvania. I just wanted to say that I don't think cat calling and harrassment has anything to do with race, education, religion or gender. My mother used to for PHEAA for over 26 years and she was sexually harrassed by her boss who is a white man in an elevator. He did it a few times to her when she told me about it I was gonna hurt the guy real bad but she told me she would handle it.

  • Hello Tonya Tko my name is Jamal and I am from Harrisburg Pensylvania. I watch your videos every now and then, and I enjoy them very much. I appreciate the fact that all of your videos contain very informative and valuable information. You are doing your part to try to make the world we live in a better place. Thank you for that and God bless you. I would like to comment on your video about harrassment in the black and latino community.

  • This is not sexual harrassment . I do not do it, as I feel it is inapropriate to do such things to a women. I respect women.

  • Compliment! This is not sexual harrassment . I do not do it, as I feel it is inapropriate to do such things to a women. I respect women.

  • Compliment!

  • hahahahah I do that, in Italy men will just pinch ass all day long, whats the problem? yes some guys go over board, but just smooching and whistling or making comments isn't bad...also if you dress to sexually impress, be ready to catch a little flac...Tonya, DAMN YOUR FINE!!! smooch smooch smooch BIG WHISTLEs!!!

  • @pecorino69 Actually, youre so wrong its hilarious... and I can tell from your comments you didnt watch the end of the vid.

    -Tko

  • I've never been verbally harassed by an indian man but physically so in INDIA. A man straight up groped me in public. Maybe b/c I was a tourist he felt this was ok.

  • @krazeekd09 Thank you for the input.

    -Tko

  • Tonya you look like you are so sweet and kind. But would kill a dude dead when you would snap lol. No it's just ignorance. Tonya if I saw you jogging or out walking dressed nice and I wanted to talk to you. I'd talk to you like your are a human not a piece of meat.

  • Does it all depend on what someones definition of what SEXY is? business? workout? sluty? jeans and tank top? shorts? etc....

  • @MissKayfad1 Verrrry interesting point! Never thought of that... but then the conundrum... The last question I pose at the end: When dressed in overtly sexual garb the masses are quiet.

    -Tko

  • I think men cat call when they are with friends because they feel like they have a sense of power. They know a woman is not going to get on them if there are 2-5 other guys with them. As far as white men and asian men, they do check women out too but they do it silently. They don't call you over they just sneak peeks while they think or know you aren't looking. It does seem like they cat call you when they are in groups. Then, you have men saying this is their "nature" and women should GOI.

  • @ArtOfTreasury111

See "War Zone" by Maggie Hadleigh-West. You can watch an evaluation copy on mediaed(dot)org

  • Latino men are bad about cat calling. They will reverse their car just to holler at you.

  • Tonya you might be on to something about the men morelikely to cat call women that are dressed less provocative.

  • I believe it's a form of harassment shot towards women that are professional they want us to break a sweat men do it alone also but it is lack of intelligence and sometimes age they think women who reveal more are confident rather than people who dress professionally it's a mindset

  • It`s a cultural thing. Oriental (Asian if you prefer) culture is a more polite society. Italian men like to pinch women on the ass. Education would have a lot to do with it, men with less education usually act like jerks.

  • i believe that men or boys give out cat calls when there in a group are because of their ego and pride but when that woman says something back or dont give a response then they degrade them it makes me feel like i cant dress or look good i look good for me and me only not anyone else and i dont pay any attention to men that gives me cat calls but i dont want to be seen as a piece of meat or someone thats easy i think it is verbal rape

  • most times when im doing errends depending on how im dressed i get cat calls i dont like it because i think its degrading to me when i dont say anything to them they say insults

  • i've been experienceing street harrasment since i was 13 years old. (i'm white) i relate this behavior mostly to poverty or the lower middle class and lack of education because in my area plenty of white and latino men do this (i have never been harrased by a black man). there is nothing flattering about this and infact i find it scary. there are a few times i was followed for multiple blocks and asked to get in the vehicle even though i was wearing jeans and a t-shirt with tennis shoes.

  • i think it is weather a girl is being hoe-ish or whatever the case may be she is showing more confidence in her body walking down the street damn near naked which is why she is not harrased, yet the girl "covered up" seems more insecure, and what thease worthless ass niggas are taking as insecurity hell it may just be she has common sense when it's cold outside LMAO, and they see her as easy prey

  • @crakhoBITCH Do you mind if I ask you about the motivation and story behind your screen name?

    -Tko

  • @TonyaTko LOL thank you kinda long though...well i am very skinny, i pretty tall an all liek 120-130 lb, BUT of course in jr high an highschool i used to be ALOT skinnier liek 80-90 an some of the mean kids would call me a crak ho LMAO, an a few years ago when i needed a new email/screename i wanted something that stood out an no one els had, crakho3 LOL, an i liek it, but when i first made youtube account i couldnt watch certain vids cuz of my age so i made this one even though i am 19 now

  • @crakhoBITCH Dont you feel odd, on the inside when you sign in using that name? I know it was an old nickname... but how much of that sentiment do you think leeched in on the inside?

    -Tko

  • Idk if this was already said, but I think the fact that Black and Latina teen girls receive this harassment and White and Asian teens do not is due in large part to the development of Black and Latina teens. We develop very quickly and fully, so by the time we are teens, many of us have wide hips and a full bust and bottom. Our bodies resemble those of a grown woman, which catches these disgusting predators' eyes.

  • ugh.....this is the first video where i had to shake my head at your accusations of why men act the way they act...... all i can say is that at the end of the day entertainment....is entertainment....if women don't want or can't handle the attention... by not only black or latino...but by all races.... then wear abaya's or tunics....or Kurtas..... this is just a little bit to much though. and as far as men being uneducated....that has nothing to do with hollaring at women on the street.

  • @cozmoDaHot1 Okay so in your opinion it is entertainment for men to scream at women in the streets about what they would like to do her body parts?

You also believe that educated men are standing on the corners screaming out lewdness.

Also, you are of the belief that instead of men controlling themselves that the women should cover themselves in traditional islamic garb.

What do you have to say abt women in Abayas who get RAPED, is that bcz she should have covered her eyes too?

    -Tko

  • @TonyaTko lol see, i was thinking of not even leaving a comment. but seriously, this happens all over the world. i've seen whites, blacks, latinos, Muslims as well... me being a male i've been Cat Called, i smile and keep it pushing. it is a form of entertainment like it or not. women do it too. is it okay for women to throw their words at men in a perverted way but not men? and as far as the islamic culure, do women not get ACTUALLY RAPED by there set up husbands? i can't control that.

  • @cozmoDaHot1 Um... raped by men who are NOT their husbands... then accused of adultery (because technically they've had sex outside of marriage) then stoned.

Please let me know which country you saw muslims catcalling women?

Also, Im not sure how many times you've been "CatCalled" by women but I can only imagine its negligible

    -Tko

  • and no, educated men don't have to stand on the conors and scream things at women..because they do it from their office. with actual power. and if being uneducated is the case..and you know this.then why are you even threatened by a "bum".it honestly just seems like you're bashing black and latino men. being educated or uneducated has nothing to do with sexual harassment.and when i do see men cat call.its while they are working on the sidewalk...that your fine ass is walking on.

  • @cozmoDaHot1 Yes you got me... I'm Bashing Black and Latino men. Because out of all of the ways & type of language I can use to bash, I have done it in such a way that you have to say it SEEMS, bcz you're not even SURE. Bcz obviously if I wanted to BASH, there are no words in the english language to assist me properly.

    Youre right brother.

    Peace.

    -Tko

  • @TonyaTko so,how is it negligible? because women are doing it? if thats the case...then what you are speaking on is negligble. women are just as horney and perverted as men. in italy the whites are doing it. and as far as muslims lol i was in chicago. in the gay seen. mind you this has NOTHING to do with my sexuality. i'm just saying it is what it is and it happens. when you attractive or have a certain feature that someone likes, its going to be noticed.even if you don't welcome the offer..

  • @cozmoDaHot1 Do you know what negligible means? Everything you're saying is starting to make sense now... Go on with your story.... so you were in Chicago on the Gay scene, when people you THOUGHT were women were catcalling you? and you saw gay muslim men catcalling women.

Yes... and then you turned your umbrella upside down to catch the skittles, as you twirled in your fancy socks on cotton candy clouds, and sang with the leprechaun at the end of the rainbow before Dorothy said Lets go to OZ!

  • @TonyaTko if i didn't know i wouldn't have responded. now, you asked me in what country did i see muslims cat calling.... yea..in chicago(us)..and they were doing it to men... tonya didn't you do a show about being a victim? ok then.... maybe you should get over it and keep it pushing.. men get hit on all the time. by women and men. its not a race thing. or a gender it happens.. besides..if you had a man.. you wouldnt be worrying about what other men were saying to you...am i wrong?

  • @cozmoDaHot1 So now you have decided to change this conversation from women getting catcalled to men in the gay community getting catcalled by other men?

I dont understand why you would bring this up over here? What has gotten in to you?

Please let those gay men come forward, and I will listen to their stories.

Women are still at a physical disadvantage with being 30% smaller & less strong than men. A man threatening a woman is much worse than threatening another man his size

    -Tko

  • @TonyaTko i like your motive when arguing... but i'm over it... at the end of the day, you're going to be right because you a female.... who is smaller than a man... so you go out at night with no protection.. its all coming together now. one with such a big voice...but you're really just a defenseless female... who was put in an evironment that you can't handle....a grown woman at that... you're absolutely right...

  • @cozmoDaHot1 So you expect me to walk around with a GUN, and pull it out and brandish it to any man who comes close enough to me? I have pepper-spray, but how is pepper-spray going to help me in a group of aggressive men? The spray only shoots in one direction and if someone grabs it out of my hand or hits me over the head what do I do? Im only 5'5" Im no match for 6' 3" pack of men with mischief on their minds. Im no match for a man my same ht / wt. w/the given 30% more strength men have

    -Tko

  • @cozmoDaHot1 Cosmo, I feel really sorry for you... not only do you have NO idea what its like to be a woman, but you have no interest in listening & learning. Instead of men controlling themselves, you have instructed I go get a gun and start shooting catcallers.

    Thank you.

I will apply for my gun permit next week.

PS. Please dont approach me on the street.

    I have anger mgmt issues.

    -Tko'd

  • @TonyaTko No, you have mental issues. To even suggest, whether literally or figuratively, shooting someone for a noise projected in your direction as a sign of attraction is insane. What are you? Are you a native black person (i.e., African American)? I know foreign blacks tend to blow shit out of proportion, like the men in their home country are all English gentlemen. Get the fuck out of here with that. Shit, dancehall exemplifies the lower mind of most carribbean blacks.

  • @TonyaTko i mean, whats wrong with simply ignoring what you perceive as a threat? or something that makes you uncomfortable. especially if you are not in danger? if you know your worth...this shouldn't be an issue.... Love you tonya! but just saying....

  • @cozmoDaHot1 So what you're saying is I should Shut up, and just take it, like a good girl and just go on, hoping one day this madness will end.

I'm speaking about it bcz I CHOOSE to

Why should anyone ignore a threat? Thats how people get hurt. Your rationale has so many holes in it.

Why didnt Black ppl just ignore segregation? Hoping it will go away?

    -Tko
