@kounvir Historical thing I'd say (they did have a 6.3 V8 for a long time back in the days). The last motor wasn't a 6.3 either, it was a 6.2.

250 CDI doesn't have a 2.5 motor either, it is a 2.1 biturbo.

@reyelacademico correction, a newer version of the most beautiful car ever. The 2008 model looked so much better, it was just right in every way. Have to say, the led lights ruin the look and the front doesnt look as good. And the rear looks american on this one...the square exhausts don't fit with the sleek flowing elegant design, and the centrally placed reverse lights are so wrong. grr, why did they have to redesign a masterpiece?!

The 2011 model is uglier than the 2007 model- Looks as if it has a load of aftermarket trash stuck on it. PIMP MY RIDE style.Those rear reversing lights- why? They belong on flatbed truck. They look hideous. It's got a stupid "LOOK AT ME" nose, with that huge immigrant style Mercedes-Benz star on the front. Save yourself $70,000 and buy a 3-year old example. Instead of making all these unnecessary changes to a largely good looking car they should have slotted the 420CDI engine into the CL range.

That is exactly their excuse. Let's see, do you see anything Mercedes in SLS AMG? No. Doesn't even look like the Gullwing of 60's.

Try googling next gen Dodge Viper SLS AMG and you would find the sources. The chassis is obviously of Viper, and look at the SLS AMG, does it even look anything like an SL? Look at the way the passenger seat is designed, it looks so much more like a Viper, rather than an SL(SL is roundish and SLS is not) That only just proves it even further.

I mean the part where people get inside. Compare the pictures of the SL, SLS, Gullwing and Viper's side part, you'd see what I mean.

And you might say "Well, Gullwing also looks kinda like SLS AMG", but let me ask you, is the deign flow of SLS AMG as natural as Gullwing? NOT EVEN. It looks more like the car was supposed to be of something "other" rather than a Mercedes.

And yes, SLS AMG was supposed to be the next gen Dodge Viper.

In the end, it was supposed to be the next gen viper. In fact, Chrysler was working on it, but due to all the bankruptcy crisis, it never happened.

And chassis being Viper means Mercedes saved tons of cash in terms of making an SLS. No wonder why the car is so cheaply priced.

Grand tourers are high performance cars that are fun to drive but dont make any compromises in luxury and/or comfort. @KenGold666 The 2007-2010 Mercedes CL is one of the most good looking cars money can buy, certainly the most good looking Mercedes in recent years (apart from the SLS) This face lifted model looks chintzy, the grill, the daytime running LED's, the rear reverse lights look as if they were lifted from a flatbed truck. It's a car which looks too fussy and over designed. I'd rather wait until 2013 for the all new model or buy a 2007 shape and buy a house with the savings.
