You should have seen Eric when he played with Joe Bonamassa! I think he outshined Joe! I saw him at Gilly's in Dayton, OH for years and not only is he a BAD cat on the bass, he always took time after the shows to talk and sign autographs! Miss ys Eric... and YES you still were the best bassist Joe ever had!

@misanthroposy That top string is F, not F#. Standard tuning for basses is typically in fourths.

I was probably getting screwed up with the tuning of a seven string where the tuning is F#BEADGC where insted of having a high F it has a low F# insted. And really the top string would be A low F# because a low F# would be on the top of the bass because the highest string is the lowest tuned and the lowest string is the highest tuned.

@black1swan2green3 Well if you mean standard tuning, take the standard classic 4 string tuned low to high E A D G, E being the low string/4th and G the high 1st, add the low B/5th string above the Low E/4th, then up until the 9th or 10th string the Low B remains the lowest string as a standard plus string bass. the 6th string/C is below the 1st string/G, and the 7th/F is below the C/6th string. So for a 7 string the tuning Low to high would be BEADGCF (with respective string order: 5432167)
