@youngb1ood and wheel hop. cobalts are bad with that since there is sooo much engine movement. it really shoulda came with solid tranny mounts from the factory.
to be honest... John Powell found the solution for the real wheel hop... CAB's were the big mistake for it.. i've changed my 2 Tranny mount for Energy inserts and added a Ingalls Engine Damper... almost lost all my wheel hop with me LSD tranny.. but CAB's were gonna be the next project and that was #1 Wheel hop problem

i agree, the WRX STi can beat a cobalt pretty easy but it's only a 4 cylinder... compared to a 300 HP V-6(STi) and if you put a cobalt SS to a SRT-4 stock to stock the SS would beat it... and to tell you all the truth i didnt like any chevy until they came out with the cobalt SS.. you compare it too the SI honda its like 5x cheaper and like 4x faster..

i am a mechanic by trade, cobalts are throw away cars. they have decent running engines but the cars are trash. WRXs and on the other hand are well built, have excellent suspensions and are all around better cars. thats not just my thoughts, thats a fact. theres a reason those cars are only 20k new

im sorry to hear you say that. i love my Super Charged Cobalt, low end torque is a real pleasure. i have limited slip in mine, so for me it's about taking cloverleafs on the expressway @ 70mph to the tune of faint chirping, begging for more. The car set a class record on the nurburgring test track, THE standard!! though the new ss has launch control (i prefer I do it myself) traction control is nice, and no-lift shifting is sweet, but then again so is powershifting!! to each their own! =P
