I call their 'help line' to cancel my account, get re-directed to every employee in their Indian call center, asked by each one the same questions over and over and over again, get transferred again, same questions again, etc, etc. 45 minutes later.....still no solution, still with AOHell...WORSE THAN ALCATRAZ TO ESCAPE FROM .......Steer well clear of AOL

I read that the people who handles the account cancellations earn a commision for every person they manage to talk out of canceling their account, so this bullshit is not suprising. Anyway, the person who did this crap supposedly got fired, and if he did, good. I hate people who play psych games, and the patronising tone that the AOL rep was using at the end of the
recording made me want to reach through and pull is fucking throat out.

They ask you and tell you that you should keep it, but who wants AOL when you can have DSL or cable for under half of what AOL charges? You have to be living in the hills or some place that cable or DSL cannot reach to use 56k!
One time my cousin called to get her AOL account cancelled, and they continued to charge her for 3 months without her knowledge. She got her $75 back too.

Get Yahoo DSL, it cost only $14, while AOL at 56k costs over $20. 56k or DSL/Cable? $14 or $20+?

He called them over and over and finally they canceled the account. Then later on they started it back up on him without telling him. They are a bunch of crooks. I would like to take this time to point out the corruption of AOL.

AOL goes through a script at the beginning of EVERY call. They don't just say, this is AOL.

Wow, I quit Aol back in like '98 or '99 when I got broadband. They gave me the same bunch of bs back then too.
Aol introduced so many of us to the internet in the mid nineties, its almost sad to see what it became.
