I remember a festelle girl named Georgiana defeated Sherry and I think Ria too. She also fought another black girl named Sonia (possibly Sonia Fernandez) to a draw in a match where she took tremendous punishment for most of the match but never submitted and ended up on top of Sonia for a full minute or two before the final bell. I was wondering if that was the same Sonia Fernandez and if Sonia or Georgiana ever wrestled against Beatrice Goffin? Another girl named Anne also beat Sonia

I've wrestled Georgina, many moons ago. She and Sonia fell out over some incident when the latter started a mixed wrestling agency. Always admire Sherry, though she didn't seem as savvy at the business as MaggieJ or SoniaF were. Yes, I sometimes wonder what Georgina and Sherry are doing now, or the lucky guys (or women) they're with!

I am not sure about Georgiana, but in April 1990 Sonia Fernandes and Beatrice Goffin had an intense competitive match in Beatrice's wrestling loft in Belgium. The match was very even and it lasted 25 minutes. Beatrice and Sonia wrestled topless and both women were bathed in sweat when the battle ended. Beatrice won by gaining one submission from Sonia.

@ecl2330 the match vs Beatrice may have been one of Sonia's few losses. I have 2 matches, however, in which Sonia wrestled Georgiana and Anne respectively. Anne took Sonia down and laid on top of her for 5-10minutes and seemed to be on the verge of submitting her right before the bell sounded. Sonia was dominating 80% of her match vs Georgiana, but that tough girl never submitted even being choked. She somehow survived and managed to get on top of Sonia for 3-4 mins right b4 bell rang

There was a third match where Beatrice defeated Sherry in a wrestling ring 2-0. Sherry had slimmed down for that match and looked in great shape but Beatrice was still too much for her.

I know of two matches in which they clashed. In the first Beatrice took the previously undefeated Sherry to school crushing her 5-0. The second took place in a cramped living room with a 10 minute time limit and ended with Sherry hanging on, just, for a draw.

I can give you some informations. Beatrice Goffin and women wrestlers from her club went to England in the 90's to fight against the women wrestlers of Festelle club. Beatrice was a pro wrestler and was also the instructor of her club. I wrote to her several years and gave her good reports about Sherry. But Beatrice won easily over her and also over Ria. The Festelle's women wrestlers fought often topless but Beatrice and her team refused and all the ladies fought clad in swimsuits.

I am surprized that Beatrice would not fight topless. She has done it plenty of times. Maybe she didn't want to compromise the sport of the competition at that time. Either way, I have allot of respect for her.

Dear utubefields24, you are right. But in fact, Mrs Béatrice Goffin refused to fight topless for her first particiation to a Festelle tournament. This event took place in November 1986. At this time, Béatrice wrestled in international events and it was difficult for her to appear topless. When Béatrice travelled to the States to fight in "submission wrestling" vs American women wrestlers in August 1985 then in August 1987, she and her opponents always wrestled in swimsuit. Sincerely.
