The gap between people and their emotion make them robots. This part show how risk of total trust on your intimate emotions. Could break walls of cold mind. Breakthrough.
Different cultures, beliefs, standards, the Japanese are an amazing race of people but at the time they thought we were no better than cockroaches & treated us diabolically. It's no worse than than us Brits have done to so many others in our chequered past?
This film is excellent, Bowie, love him or hate him, is brilliant & Sakamoto is equally convincing & the rest of the cast are accomplished actors anyway. The repressed feelings & forbidden love are beautifully balanced and the music.... OMG!
Sexy Bowie, all the suffering of the prisoneers, Saint Lawrence, diabolic Japanese...Holy ideology, for a moment I almost forgot who has been the real imperialist vilain in the real world for the last centuries.
That's not the proper greatest scene of the entire movie, in my opinion it is the next scene who is unforgettable, with the same music but when Bowie is in dug in the ground.

Antologic Scene!!!
One of the most beautifull.
Beauty and grace.
Love and respect.
Friendship and peace.
Human stuff.

I cannot catch what Sakamoto said to David when he tried to stop his action.
Please let us know what he was saying!

He said : You ! Go away ! Go away !

Sorry, I am Japanese, but I still cannot get exactly what he said. What did he say extactly in Japanese? I would appreciate it if you would tell me.
Unangepasse77 2 years ago
This is the french version of the movie and Sakamoto speaks actually in French : "Vous ! Allez vous-en... allez vous-en !"
I not able to help you more, sorry.

I have never seen this movie and just came across this clip. can someone tell me what is happening here?
Tee020 3 years ago 2
The Japanese title of this movie is "Mary Christmas of the battlefield".
Ryuichi Sakamoto and Kitano Takeshi appear to the performer.
"Furyo scene ... / ..." is a mistake of "Horyo scene ... ..." with a title of you Tube.
opop1155 3 years ago
This movie is simply stunning. Bowie at his best. And the soundtrack by Ryuichi Sakamoto cannot be missed!

Quelle scène poignante! Elle a marqué durablement mon adolescence.
Moulnak 4 years ago
J'aime bien le "durablement" lol... De quoi essayes-tu de t'prévenir ?
Ce film, avec cette scène comme apothéose, s'est aussi fait sa place dans mon coeur - et ma mémoire à long terme..!
lelilelu 3 years ago
C'est vrai que ça fait drôle comme formulation; j'ai dû écrire trop de textes en histoire, mon vocabulaire s'en ressent...
