This is the problem, I can tell with my eyes closed that the Peavey sounds like a speaker, while a Vox sounds like a Vox. Replace the Peavey with a Fender or Marshall I might like both.. lol
Can you please explain what "bright cap mod" that will make the vox sound less bright means?
I had a Mesa Boogie TA15 and did not like the sound with the REC CAB AC30 speakers so now I have a Vox AC15C2 with the two greenbacks and while I do like it so far ( only had it a week and speakers are not broken in yet ) I have not changed any tubes or done anything but I would like to know how to get a lower sound then bright....thanks.
bandit sounds better in this vid becasue the Korg vox amps are too bright in their stock form. After a bright cap mod the crispy high end will be gone and they will be dead even
I like the peavey's sound better in this video (and that's coming from a vox guy), or maybe you should've cut the tone on a vox a little bit to match it. Either way, I love my AC15 to death :-)
There's still quite a difference in the tones, but both tones are really good. The Vox feels much more organic, whereas the Bandit has sharper definition, and you hear the 'small notes' much more strongly. I prefer the Vox here, but not by much.
The Bandit is THE BEST underrated amp on the market.. It sounds like a sweet tube amp.. I LOVE my Bandit and tell everyone about it, they just laugh at me and say I am crazy... whatever... The amp RIPS.
We had a tarp hanging on a friends roof and out onto his front yard as it was raining and we had shit everywhere and a nail holding the tarp up fell out and the tarp fell, taking out my friends US fender strat which was on a stand. The guitar was fine but damn did everyone but him laugh our arses off.
@suckethonthyballs There's nothing worse than hearing the sound of the guitar resonate after it's fallen over, I can only imagine what went on in his mind haha.
Amazingly enough, I think the Peavey sounds more like a Vox than the Vox in this demo.

I usually like the Vox sound, but in this demo the Peavey rules!

The Peavey - by some distance ! Far more natural sounding. The Vox just sounds brittle and too much treble.

bandit. While vox sounds...like a vox I guess, I prefer the bandit on this occasion, thicker sound.

Wow, I didn't think they would be this similar. I'm liking that Bandit more all the time.

@bansheeboy1982 They both sound pretty sweet. There's something about the high end on the Bandit that's pretty nice too :)
