  • I have always been a beer drinker and never cared for the hard liquor until a friend of mine had me try the Cruzan Black Strap Rum mixed with Cock & Bull Ginger Beer. OMG! Frickin Awesome. It is also great mixed with Coke. Right now I am drinking Cruzan Black Cherry Rum mixed with Coke, a taste sensation!

  • @08Wingman This is a lovely rum for mixing, isn't it? Much better than some flavourless generic rum, where the other stuff you mix it with takes up the entire flavour profile.

  • One thing that pops up a lot on the rum forums is the suggestion of pouring Cruzan Black Strap on your morning pancakes or waffles. I've yet to try this method however....

  • Good review pal. Have you had Flor De Cana 5? How about the Malibu rums?

  • @AGC828 Nope, not yet.

  • lol im drunk and i like to watch your videos

  • Good review, I wonder what makes the rum black like that?

  • @Tantrum777 I'm pretty sure that it all has to do with how long you age it in charred oak barrels. I recall reading that lighter rums are only aged for a short period of time, thus don't take on as much of the colour of the inside of the barrel. Clear rums, I do know, are generally aged in stainless steel vats, thus they don't have anything to take colour from.

  • @elharlock well Bourbon is aged in Charred Oak barrels too. You are not allowed by law to add any coloring agent into the bourbon its natural color U.S. law. I have never seen any bourbon even an 18 year old one as dark as that. See what I mean?

  • @Tantrum777 Yeah. After looking a bit more into it, apparently Cruzan adds more molasses into it while aging. Thankfully it's not artificial colouring...

  • @elharlock well thats not too bad at least its not some fake shit

  • Seems a great rum, havn't tried this yet but i'll look out for it.

    Great review

    Cheers now

  • @HumbleAsTheDust Thanks.

  • Awsome review man! Glad that you liked it that much. It was me who requested it. Cruzan is one of my favorite Rum distilleries, i have been to the distillery in St. Croix, i got to try most of their rums, all of which were really good. Up next you should review the 80% Stroh Rum from Austria xD Cheers!

  • @TheMasterOfHoppets Ahh yes, I recall you mentioning it , but someone else just asked for it the other day, too. I'll keep an eye out for Stroh. Cheers!

  • I usually just use Captain Morgan for mixing rum and coke, but I'm gonna get a bottle of Cruzan now.
