hey fattony, i was trying to find the roland street cube online, but i live in hawaii and some places don't ship to Hawaii. i was wondering is there any similar amps you'd recommend? Thanks
hey Fattony can you make a tutorial on how to use a loopstation while beatboxing i'm really interested in beatboxing with a loopstation and if you make a tutorial 'bout that, it would be awesome
@aussie4lifeful A cheap amp? If you aren't too bothered about the sound quality you can probably get one for less than $20. Your best bet is to go to a music store and ask if you can plug your mic in to test 'em if you're going that route, however.
Ok im confused..i want the Behringer XM8500 to plug into my lapto for beatboxing on ventrilio...do i just need the mic or what cables do i need? please help
@BiggiebBeatbox To connect to your laptop you'd either need an XLR-1/8 inch jack (or XLR - 1/4 inch jack, then an adapter) or you can use a USB soundcard. If this sounds in any way confusing then go to a dedicated music or electronics store with the mic and laptop and ask them to take you through it. I'm sure they'll be happy to help out, and it's far easier to have somebody physically show you :)
@BluesMaddy The XLR port on the mic is female so the male end goes into that slot (ooh err). If you're then plugging it into the XLR port on an amp then it's female into the male, ie. an XLR-XLR cable should be male-female and an XLR to 1/4 inch jack should be male-jack
Hey Tony i have been beatboxing for a long time now before i didnt take it serious until i reached the ge of 15 (last year) and i tend to spit a lot in my beatboxing is that a good thing lol or a bad thing :( an could u mke another vid of u using the microphone or if possible could u test multiple microphones out for me to see wich one is the best further more i am relli confused bout wich mic i shud be do reply as this would be a major help thank you Tony :)
with the whole cable you can always get a pa head that has both inputs. thats what i use for my band when i'm doing vocals. i'm getting this mic soon hope its worth it.
I Have a microphone ready which is a very expensive one and looks like yours! i plug it straight into my amp but when i beat box it comes out with the sound of wind blowing (fuzzyish sound) becuase im breathing out of my mouth when i beatbox.
Do you know how to reduce this in anyway? and if i turn the bass up will that make it sound better?
why does my xm8500 sound so "airy" as in my pf snares and my kicks.. i have my mic running through an xlr to jack which i connect to my computer with an adapter
@p1n0yXer If it sounds like you're blowing on the mic, maybe you're doing just that - other than the "explosive" part of the sounds you shouldn't be letting too much air out.
@p1n0yXer If it sounds like you're blowing on the mic, maybe you're doing just that - other than the "explosive" part of the sounds you shouldn't be letting too much air out.
would you mind tellin me the name of this amplifier? maybe a link would be helpful because me and my friend would like to present our beatbox skills on the streets of cities so we need some sound ^^
I'm planning to use a mic for a flash animated web series, wil that be a problem if I use one that you mentioned? I can hear a little noise on your video, it's just a peculiarity to your recording?... (I mean, you may be using just a webcam mic to record this and not neccessarily one that you mentioned) I'm asking because the spectator of my show may notice when the recording starts, and that would make it look really unprofessional.
I'll not make any money so I'll need good COSTxBENEFIT
@FatTonyBBX hey, ive been thinking of buying an amplifier, mainly im practicing kinda funky breakbeat-beatbox and mainly drum and bass, what would you suggest me? i can spend up as much as the roland street cube costs.
It would be nice if I could just connect the mic to my soundbar which is connected to the TV. Or to my Altec Lansing stereo on my computer. That way I wouldn't have to buy an amp
the size of that amp is perfect...i have a guitar amp (RG40R) with a really cheap mic, instead of getting rid of it do you think a decent mic would make alot of difference?
I'm afraid I can't tell you - it depends on whether the mic input on your computer is mono or stereo. Like I say, I recommend an external soundcard - better sound quality and easier to use.
Comment on your video: Fat Tony's beatbox tutorials - Equipment guide
I'll be talking about how to connect a microphone to a computer in a later tutorial. You can use either an XLR-1/4 inch jack then use a 1/4 inch to 1/8 adaptor, or use an external soundcard - I recommend the M-Audio Fasttrack for about £75.
You can get fairly cheap amps if you look around. I suggest asking in a music store if you'd be allowed to plug in a mic and test them for a bit. Let the professionals help - it's what they're there for :-)

Is the XM8500's XLR jack male or female? I'm waiting to for the mic itself to arrive, but I need to know what cable to get along with it.

@pkf2007 No. You'd need to buy a separate loopstation - you'd then be able to connect that to the cube.
