  • 6string3r, do you know who is playing Alex Skolnick's part this year since he's off to Ireland? And is Anna Phoebe still playing the East Coast tour? Thanks! 19 days until the show for me!

  • @Mogoamerica Joel Hoekstra (Night Ranger, Rock Of Ages) is filling Alex's spot. Anna is not touring with TSO this winter.

  • @6string3r Thanks. Do you know who will be singing Promises to Keep for the East Coast? I was just told Jodi is on the West Coast tour this year.

  • @Mogoamerica Georgia Napolitano has the lead spot for East this year :)

  • BTW, Requiem was Mozart, not Beethoven

  • @degarmo187 The reason for titling this video the way I did, is that TSO are performing two pieces of music here. They do "Beethoven", then segue into "Requiem (The Fifth)". Hence Beethoven/Requiem. Both are from the "Beethoven's Last Night" album.

  • FN SWEET ,,l,,

  • 6string3r I know that you have the flight of cassandra , could you share please!!!!

  • COOOOOLLL! ! ! ! ! ! ! ! !

  • Awesome, I realy want to listen them LIVE

  • loco xD... keria tocar asi pero q mas daa...

  • I remember when this was the theme for NBC Nightly News.

  • this and "The Mountain" are their best songs. i dont care who u r. and wizards in winter cant even come close to this.

  • i am addicted! completely and totally.! this is my FAVORITE song! <3

  • Requiem is prolly their heaviest song.

  • My brother said they bring their OWN STAGE and have 47 semi trucks to carry their equipment and everything else. I guess this is one of the largest traveling music groups in the world.

  • Always amazes me, every single time I listen to them !!

  • Awesome rock band. T.S.O. has Z best light show I have ever seen. Now that's what i'm talking about!

  • 9-1-1?

yes i am experiencing a seizure...

    how do i kno?

i twitching uncontolably from TSO's awsomeness!!!

  • im going there on nov 12

  • Fuck!!!!! COOOOOLLL!!!

  • their lightshow is amazing in person

  • Their Piro Tech are just as amazing.

  • THIS IS THE SHOW I WENT TO !!!

    <33333 love them :)

  • i went to it was AWESOME!

  • Can anyone tell me from which song is the part at like 1m13?

  • Beethoven 9eme symphonie - Part 3/10

  • thank you really much,

but I really mean like at 1:14 where it seems like random notes played on the piano!

  • lol...maybe a little late but the piano is playing an bit of Beethoven's Pathetique Sonata, from the first movement. I think. lol...I would know...but it's late and this video has made me think I'm high...

  • contact your doctor if you're experiencing death?

  • love TSO go every year they are like the best thing ever

I tottaly recamend (My spelling stinks) it

I sat in the 4th row this year and my eyes were watering because of the lights! lol

  • nice lights

  • freaken seizure

  • Actually, isn't this both Beethoven and Mozart's Requiems played together? I know I hear Mozart in there.

  • Trans-Siberian Orchestra - Beethoven/Requiem

    ._.

  • good MUSIC

  • wow it would be really awesome if TSO would also do arrangements of the ff on the next release:

    1. vangelis' CONQUEST OF PARADISE, CHARIOTS OF FIRE, and ANTARTICA

    2. probably some of yanni's more bombastic songs

    3. enya's STORMS OF AFRICA

those songs (though the new age choices might probably be a bit odd next to the classical selections) would really sound great next to Carmina Burana and Beethoven/Requiem

  • Yeah, it would be awesome if they did Storms of Africa.

  • Saw them yesterday, One of the most entertaining shows that i've seen. All the lights and effects were awesome.

  • did you see them at the verizon center i was there, that thing with the lifted platform was awesome and the guitars were fucking insane

  • I was pissed to miss it

  • i love this show i was there! it was awesome! i'll go this year again I'm in southern california they will be at the honda center in anahein strongly urge anyone who hasn't seen them yet to get tickets for the next concert as soon as possible (and bring your friends). Watching the videos on YouTube is nothing compared to actually having been there.

  • awesome!

  • It certainly IS NOT Missa Solemnis!

I was waiting for the great resonant chords at the beginning, with the chorus following.

    Along with Pathetique piano sonata.

But, with the last (9th) symphony, they don't get beyond letter D.

In sum, does anyone else think boatloads of Walter Murphy, and his "Fifth of Beethoven" besides me?

  • Nice seat. I get to go to their concert this christmas. I'm so happy.

  • I was at this EXACT concert FRONT row. I LOVED it. I would recommend this show to everyone!!

  • OMG!! Those light effects are out of this world! I've got to go and see them perform!

  • I saw them a couple years ago in Wichita, Kansas... absolutely outstanding!!!!

  • those lights were on dope...

  • some people go blind after these shows!

  • i cant wait too see this live in november 29th in kansas city

  • craziest light show ever

  • the ending to this vid always gives me chills XD

  • its the 9th symphony

  • this is amazing!

  • this has to be the best tso live vid ive seen on youtube yet! XD! the audio and quality are great, i love you for uploading this XD

  • Maybe I'm just an idiot, but what is the real name of the song Beethoven in this video? I love it!

  • it is his 5th symphony.....he never named his songs.

    hope that helps!:)

  • It's the 9th Symphony, the 2nd movement

  • its the 5th. which one is the 9th?

  • And that, folks, is the reason I go (and take a friend) every year! You simply can't beat the concert experience of TSO.

  • Amen to that... Love seeing these guys every year, looking forward to it here in early may!

  • Excellent vid! Without the usual sound and camera distortion, you get a feel of what it's like to see TSO live. Al Pitrelli (lead metal guitar, musical director) is, according to rumor, and the composers of BLN are staging a live rock opera of the entire piece. Al'a bio states that he is classically-trained, hence his perfection in the TSO renditions of Beethoven, Mozart, Liszt, etc.

    Vienna

  • thier concerts are always good

  • TSo IS THE REAL THING!!

  • if i was a famous rap artist or singer or domething this is how my concert stage perfect just like that

  • i've always wondered what the inside of the sun looked like...now i kow!

    that was intense, kick ass!

  • Intense

Those people on the first row must be blind by now :p

  • Intense

those people in the first row must be blind by now :p

  • A iluminação é um show a parte!

  • I went to the Biloxi, MS show sometime last year lol, i dont keep track. definently the best expirience ive ever had, im going again next tiem they come.

  • 2007 Biloxi show was Nov. 9th.

  • I like the passion the gitaurist is putting in the music

  • Excellent concert. I went Jan. 5th at the Wilkes-Barre show. Love Chris Caffery and "The Wizard." I strongly urge anyone who hasn't seen them yet to get tickets for the next concert as soon as possible (and bring your friends). Watching the videos on YouTube is nothing compared to actually having been there.

  • I went to my first TSO concert in Houston on Dec. 27th. LOVED IT! found your videos on youtube. I was hoping you could answer a couple questions for me. The man who was singing the song Christmas eve 1999 was the director of our tour. He is not an original TSO member correct? What is his name?

Also, the lead guitar player in our tour was great. He was also the head musical director. Do you happen to know his name?

  • You are talking about Tommy Farese on the west tour. Yes, he's an original member. He can also be seen on the 1999 DVD, "The Ghosts Of Christmas Eve".

Original members that are in TSO West:

    Al Pitrelli-Guitar

    Tommy Farese-Guitar,Vocals

    Johnny Lee Middleton-Bass

  • I wish I could see the East crew, but I absolutely love the West crew. I don't think I'd ever switch. Both crews do awesome. Keep it up.

  • @6string3r But Johnny Lee wasn't part of the West coast band (he is this year, but before him we had Chris A.). The director of the East tour is Bob Kinkel and the director for the West tour is Al Pitrelli. Tommy Farese was the host of the West tour (introduced everyone, addressed the audience) for as long as I can remember.

  • @JustinPiano09 JLM was indeed with the West band, from 2000 'til 2008 (technically, JLM sat out in 2001, and Malcolm Gold filled in). Chris Altenhoff took Dave Z.'s place in TSO East in 2007, then Chris and JLM switched sides in 2008, sending Chris West and bringing JLM East. JLM is going back West again this year. Confusing, isn't it?

  • great light show

  • Awesome video! I can actually hear it!

  • dude i was there! it was awesome!

  • Finally, a good bootleg! Very nice.

  • I was there too dude it was awesome. The whole damn thing.

  • I go every year. I'm seeing two more shows in Chicago on Dec 2nd.

  • lucky!

  • Ill be there with my family. Im going to the earlier show.

  • nice, how much do tickets cost?

  • all tickets are the same price, but it depends on first come, first serve. mine were $47

  • oh your lucky ares were like $60 so i dident get to go :(
