As stupid as Exorcist III gets, I quite like it - George C Scott and Ed Flanders are great before the silly ending, and Brad Dourif is incredible for most of his scenes in his prison cell.
Oh well, i'm not much bothered either way. I very much take a Stephen Fry type approach to language, basically if it makes sense, it doesn't matter either way. Though my brain isnt as big has his.
I remember this blog post now, Incredible that The Good Doctor (along with his friend Nick) now becomes a genuine part of Exorcist folklore. Wonderful.
What I dont understand about Exorcist III, is that it kinda bases a large part of itself on the 'friendship' between Kinderman and Karras. I think there is even a scene where Kinderman says something like "He was a good friend. I miss him everyday", or words to that effect. But we know that they didnt have any friendship. Infact they only met a couple of times before Karras died.
The novel "Legion" is much better than what we saw on the screen. In fact, I think that the film suffered the same kind of disappointment that many of Stephen King's stories did onscreen.
holy hell. Kermode was responsible for the last true scare that I ever had? I watched that clip of the flicking tongue and just thinking about it I couldn't sleep
I'm so excited about the original cut of legion. I had no idea that the ending was re-shot?! I thought it was an amazing film up to the point the stupid OTT effects kicked in. Typical Hollywood 'Bay -esque' nonsense......:/
With the uncut NIGHTBREED (another compromised Morgan Creek film from around the same time) recently surfacing I hope that LEGION could also be 'found' at some point.
@RolandDeschain1 I just don't see it happening. The footage is allegedly "lost," and even in the case of NIGHTBREED, even if the did find it, they're reticent to release it. LEGION: THE DIRECTOR'S CUT is, sad to say, probably a fanboy dream. The footage is gone, I doubt they'll find it. It's THE MAGNIFICENT AMBERSONS of horror films. Sad.

I can highly recommend Spicediver's fanedit of Exorcist III/Legion. It's not perfect but it brings some dignity back to this abused film.

In the the end Kermode says, "Me and Nick", i think he knows as well as anyone its "Nick and I"...
Still, i personally dont like the spiderwalk, to me it just looks silly

Fingers crossed they can get the original cut of Legion done, that would be worth seeing!

Nightbreed was a brilliant idea, as most clive barker stuff is, but really poorly executed
