  • Love this!! I have a lot of "junk" books around for altering purposes. Cutting the covers off the old books and using those as the covers for this technique would be fun! They could be left plain or embellished. And I love being able to use all those scraps of precious paper that I can't bear to throw away--but what do you do them? Now we know! Thanks Diana!

  • @ellenfworth Don't you just love old books! So many great uses. I love the titles and the cover work. Glad you will find a use for them now! If you are in the area of Connecticut, I'll be teaching Rescue Book Journals with Coptic Stitch in October at Art Is You. It's a great art retreat! come visit my blog :)

  • Wow. Diana, you're the best. You show us how to make scraps and stuff look sooo good. I know you believe like I do that Art can be in everyone's lives. You show us how and you make it fun! Thank you!

  • I am teaching a free class at the local library this week, and I am going to include this! It is all about using what you have around the house, especially papers. cardboard, etc. This is perfect! Thank you for all of your great ideas.

  • @jacquerose3 OH MY GOSH! I'm so happy to hear that! I do local library programs as well - for years now. THis is very generous of you to do it for free. Three cheers for you! I've got to get my syllabus (eS?) up on website - some stuff is there - If you are looking for ideas, please check my blog it is chock full and don't hesitate to email or friend me on FB!

  • smart and adorable

  • Love it! And with so many different colors and patterns on Duct tape these days you really can get creative. I live to recycle, reuse and re-purpose. Trash to treasures is a wonderful way to create! :D TFS

  • @Cybelemoon Yeah, recycling! Someone just posted a duct tape journal with tie-dyed duct tape! Enjoy

  • @DianaTro - I gotta soooo get me some duct tape! (I'm actually out here ... which is not normal for this household... considering how much I use it for other things!) Now I have reason to get more! YEAH!
