I never understood why this was Judge Dredd "The movie" game... when it clearly shows the comic dredd and world. Oh well.. not that I minded anyway. Comic >>Movie by a long shot.
The last Judge Dredd movie did suck but it didnt suck ass. I liked it. Just consider it just another awesome action flick staring Sylvester Stallone. I read Judge Dredd comics and know every single mistake they made in that movie but I cant hate it for some reason.
This came out at the same time as the first movie in 1995. At the time, I wasn't familiar with Judge Dredd. Ever since I have been a fan and have many of the graphic novels. I'm looking forward to the new movie. And this game was a bit tough at first play, but once you get used to it it's a breeze. But it's worth it. I wasn't too impressed with the newer Dredd game Dredd Vs. Death for the Xbox and Playstation 2.
I like how this game expanded on the movie's storyline by including the Dark Judges. Deadworld was an awesome level and had the best background music. Also, the level design was great.
You know, this game doesn't even seem like the movie it was based upon, I mean, hell, Rico Dredd was the main antagonist of the movie, and the main antagonist here seems to be Judge Death of the Dark Judges, which makes me wonder why wasn't Judge Death in the movie, oh yeah, CGI was still too new to the film industry, but that didn't stop most movies from having crazy looking bad guys, hell, they still had the robot bodyguard in the movie, I wanted Judge Death! sorry for whining like a bitch
production of the video game took place before the movie was finished, so the team that worked on the game had not more than the script and of course the comics as source material. it´s very likely that the developers got a few okays from the movie and licensing department on certain levels and added some more that may have been planned for the film (but i doubt that) or some stages just fit the comic really well. never forget that the comics tell a lot more stories than the movie did.
I don't know if you're being sarcastic. But all movie titles that get made into games end up becoming longer with a lot of extra stuff that was never meant to be in the movie.
For example;spiderman the game had the shocker robbing a bank. But the shocker was never in the movie and there was no bank scene. It's just a way of making people buy the game because people think their getting their moneys worth.
there's a logical answer to that. Doesn't have anything to do with the budged or so. It's just that the game is actually based on the comic. They just have added a lot of stuff from the movie. Most of the caracters and even graphic designs are from the comic.
They are making a new Judge Dredd movie. It's being filmed in Johannesburg and will be in 3D. The new one will be faithful to the source material as opposed to the last movie.
hm. if it were based off of the movie, I'm surprised they had that last speech. it seems to be a paraphrase of one Dredd said in the comics after the Necropolis Storyline.
It follows the plot of the movie, but then once Rico's out of the way it takes characters from the comic. Dredd's uniform is taken from the comic too.
@welseypipes2989 Yeah loads. I think after this game I worked on the SNES & megadrive versions of FIFA 96. Few other bits and pieces then onto PC games like ReVolt & Forsaken. My last published game was a DSi title 'Foto Face : The face stealer strikes' for EA
If it's like the SNES one, just defeat them both and then find the exit, the exit is in a small tower shaped thing. You can't leave until they're both dead
Yeah thanks but I was asking what type of ammo do I need in order to defeat Judge Fire because I was playing it today again so I can pass the level. All did was run around and collect all items and once I got them all, I had to face Judge Fire. But I died trying. Do you know what weapon do I need to use to kill him and face Judge Fear.
Use whatever you have, you don't need anything special. Just use Hi Ex, Grenades or Armor Pierceing, OR get close and keep kicking him. As I said this was in the SNES version, should be the same for Genesis
I never got that far in the game (Was never able to beat the Gila Munja boss you face in the level after you take out Rico). So, that's the fight with Judge Death, huh? Pretty cool.

Does anyone know why this game was so much longer than the movie?
I never understand why this game has so much more?
Were the later levels of the game supposed to be in the movie but they had to cut it because of budget?

hey dude can you play the stage before this one i dont have a clue off what to do the same stage with the fire demons :(
Striddels007 3 years ago
That's Judge Fire. You have to shoot the fire guy until he turns into the floating head then hit him with the green B goo stuff. Does that help?

I had it on megadrive and you couldnt save it. So had to start new game everytime. So difficult (although I was only about 12). Great though.

"Judge Dredd the movie" huh? So why does he fight Judge Death at the end?
Hallinilla5 3 years ago
because they based it first on the movie and after he defeats Rico it goes back to the comic book where he fights Judge Death....
ElUnico6917 3 years ago
it all makes sence now! i always wondered why they added extra levels. How did u know?
vunit17 3 years ago
surprised they actually used boing to catch the judges. the game seems to be closer to the comic than the film was
