  • I absolutely love this song and the way Joe expressed himself he was truly into it. So sincere. Amazing guitar player. Definitely top rank!!!

  • What in the heck happened to the sound at 3:10 or so - totally turned to crap. :( To amazing a song to have that happen to.

  • Moro em Curitiba e não fui nesse show... pqp, maior fracasso meu eim, malzasso... =\

  • stop jacking off man so can get a steady hand ..

  • I rember when i decided to hear Vai and im sorry but I find Vai is mostly about speed,he does have some decent slow to medium tempo licks but after like 5 minutes of shredding,Satrani does shred but he doesn't over due it and its not his main goal, some of his song are really relaxing and calming like this one,But this is my opinion and I dont care if disagree becuz it wont change anything

  • @rockngamer32 Vai is really complicated.. you dont get it till you attempt to play like him..

complicated doesnt mean better and Satch notes simply resonate with me on a deeper level.. however to put a genius like Vai down just like that... I would never dare say Vai is only speed :(

  • @Pierceher I never said he was bad ,i think he is great at what he does(combing genres and make it so they go together)its just he tends to play fast alot, and i do play guitar and i have tried to play like him (which i failed miserably) and yes he really does complicated things and not just random notes ,it just he doesn't appeal to me like Satch does

  • @rockngamer32

Same here :) Joe has so much emotion in his notes

    long live the Satch

  • Joe Satriani la tua chitarra canta!!!! sei grande!!!

  • Thrilling... chills my soul - just freedom in expression..I am working at this - expressing your feelings pourin' out effortlessy out of my guitar without too much interference from my brain.

  • @dizzykrissi Brain is what controls your fingers. Brain is what creates the feelings you feel. It's not gonna be your brain what's on your way to express your feelings when playing, but your ability to play and ignore that you might not always hit a perfect note.

  • Ve se agora eu aprendo em HD!

  • the world should get more of these and less of those of rebecca black

  • @Ectotherm the world shouldn't use copyright! DAMN my guitar teacher told me to study his songs but I can't download them! XD

  • adam hissediyor yav...

  • God is perfect because He made Satriani

  • Amen to that, "TheExtremist21".....no doubt in my mind. The musical genious that changed my life, too. No one will ever know how much, except for me. Thank you so much, Joe. Thank you.

  • Time to a new concert in Brazil, Joe. Come to the northeast. Many brazilians outside São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro love your music too.

  • That guitars deffinetly cryin'

  • @GuitarsOfArp and @PAULOcbi Would you stop that shit eh? The most stupid thing in the world is when two musicians or normal people who like different genres of music are arguing about "is X musician better than Y musician" Jesus christ just enjoy the kind of music you like and keep the arguing away... Why should you care about what some dude from across the world thinks about your genre of music? Do what you like and ignore what you dont! Online arguing is not going to lead anywhere :D

  • @mindfux0r very funny,I am a self taught guitarist.I play all scales fluentlly and have been teaching guitar for 12 yrs.. You got it backwards pal.It takes creativity to learn on your own, rather than having some guy tell you 'put your fingers here',lol. And the self taught guitarists ALL have written the best rock tunes with great riffs and solos. The guitar school geeks are great technically but Vai,Satriani or Gilbert cant write a great riff or song .Just solos over 'MusaK like' bass lines.UGH!

  • @PAULOcbi Do you have any musical taste? Bet you hate Fusion! Guitarists that can only write riffs for rock songs are the most untalented people ever. Yes i´m talking bout Jimmy Page, Slash, Tony Lommi and even Eric Clapton If they had played another instrument than electric guitar they wouldn´t have gotten anywhere.

  • @PAULOcbi "Musak Like" bass lines. Do you even get what these guys are playing? There NOT playing traditional talentless rock. They are all very jazz/fusion influenced. Hence there not having standard 4/4 one-note bass lines al the time

  • @GuitarsOfArp No shit they arent playing traditional rock.Traditional rock has a catchy hook with an anthemic chorus and cool instrumental break.Satriani couldnt write a memorable riff or song to save his mothers life.Playing Lydian over some MusaK like Lydian bass line is not rock`nroll.Geez1 I can play Lydian all day to a click track in my studio.Which is all Satch is doin.lo.l

  • I'm not gonna lie, I was feeling a little teary-eyed after this.

  • @runtodemhills me too...10 years in guitar school and Satriani couldnt write a great rocker to save his mothers` life...just goes to show ,self-taught guitarists are always more creative than these guitar-school technicians

  • @PAULOcbi

    Yawwwnn.

  • @PAULOcbi well we clealy don´t share the same musical taste. Anyway why would you watch this if you don´t like it

  • @GuitarsOfArp I teach guitar. So I cop licks off evry guitarist out there, wether I like their music or not,`cos some kid is gonna ask 'how do I play this?' Satriani is technically great. But his music sucks bad.Playing scales over MusaK -like bass lines is fun to listen to for about 6-7 minutes, then I wanna hear more dynamics than just the guitar playing off the bass line.Nice chorus and vocal melody and cool instrumental break dont hurt either, but Satch cant write a rocker to save his life.

  • @PAULOcbi Funny he has a career creating music and you merely copy music. Pretty pathetic.

  • @sh4rkbyt3 i didnt say I was a writer or trying to be a writer. If you consider Satrianis Musak-Like pop/rock to be great that is your opinion.Me I play guitar so to listen to someone solo in Dorian for 5 minutes and call it a 'song' is boring. I like rock/pop with a great hook, lyrics, chorus, break and instrumental break, its an ART to write this kinda song.Satriani just solos over Musaklike bass lines, crappy lyrics ,no hooks or monumental riffs,. it is what it is a guitarist experimenting

  • @PAULOcbi ahh thats where your wrong...

theres soloing in dorian, and satch soloing in dorian!

  • @Andy0Ibanez I didnt say Satch didnt solo in Dorian ,did you read my comment correctly. I said just `cos he solos in dorian or any other mode for 5 minutes over a simple bass line I dont consider that writing a pop/rock song.Any beginner guitarist can solo in any mode for 5 minutes and record it ,in my opinion that is NOT writing a pop/rock song.

  • @PAULOcbi Satriani is a musical genius. He is considered to be the most knowledgeable person on the instrument. There is so much technical amazement in everything he does. Every solo and song he makes is well thought out and written down. He doesnt just shred for 5 minutes, everything he makes sense to the music he is playing to. He is by far the best guitarist technically speaking, maybe not the fastest, or sweeps or whatever else crap, everything he does best fits what he's playing.

  • @KodiakGrizzly89 yea hes great on guitar .Too bad he cant write a rocker with a memorable riff to save his life.

  • @PAULOcbi Satch Boogie, anyone?

  • @PAULOcbi I have a question, if Satriani's songs really are that boring and bad, then how come so many people love his music? It's because he is so original in his style and his music is REALLY catchy. I often find myself thinking about some of his riffs and all that shit. I mean, just LISTEN to his playing, you absolutely can't say his songs are boring or they don't have any soul or shit like that.. And honestly, he doesn't care about your or our oppinion on his music. He plays for himself

  • @kakkashin "he plays for himself' ...well then there you have it ,rock n roll is about playing with the people for the people. Satch,Vai and others they spend 12 years in guitar school and cant write a 'rocker' to save their mothers` life. Go figure.EricClapton took 3-4 lessons and can write circles around the both of them. Go figure.

  • @PAULOcbi What's wrong with you man, I don't think you love the guitar at all, to be able to say such things about Saint Joe and Vai. Just because one person says he plays for himself you immediately quote it and act like that's the solid truth, that's quite pathetic man. I have nothing against Eric Clapton, but I think you are mixing up influence with talent, Clapton had a lot of influence on the guitar world and he's a great guitarist but Satriani and Vai have the talent and skills by far.

  • @Cidhighwind2 take that back, the only thing Vai or Satriani have on Clapton is technical ability. Clapton crushes them in all other facets including innate talent,style,originality,song-writing,lyric-writing,showmanship, ...the list goes on and on, you would have great technical ability if you spent ten yrs. in guitar school too...lol...but you still wouldnt be able to write a hit-tune to save your mothers` life...like Vai,Satriani

  • @PAULOcbi Well I respect your opinion, but insulting other guitarists isn't my style and I don't like doing it just to prove a point because I would know that I am lying, Clapton is great, a legend, and I love his work. But I've always leaned more on Satriani's work, its hard for me to get into Vai's songs too, but Satriani, for me, is a perfectionist, every single note he plays can't be recreated. But this is all personal taste and opinion, so arguing would be quite pointless, rock on dude

  • @Cidhighwind2 Im not even a Clapton fan,I think I got his 'Unplugged' CD in one of my Cd cases thats it. But technical ability is one thing, when you can write great riffs that stick in your head for two weeks and great lyrics to go with it AND play a wicked instrumental break or solo, then you have the whole tub o` shmoltz. Like Robert Johnson,Hendrix,Clapton,SRV,DuaneAllman,JimmyPage. Just a few that had it ALL,licks, songs, lyrics and musicianship. But like you said,'no accounting for taste.'

  • 3:09 -> Lydian!

    Love it!

  • I have to learn this tomorrow! just wow, what an amazing song!

  • 3:07! =) haha

  • 0:43-0:47 gave me chills

  • nevermind the box closed, lol.

  • cool, those damn boxes are annoying though.. they wouldn't be bad if there was an 'x' to close them.

  • While watching this my computer crashed...too much emotion for one hard drive to handle...

  • satriani the man who changed my life!!!

  • mine too

  • @TheExtremist21 Same man, he is just somthing else! And also inspired me to make instrumentals too! peace out bro, take care! xo

  • @TheExtremist21 You hit the nail on the head my friend...Joe has had an impact on my life as well as my guitar playing....you have very good taste in music...IMHO

  • @TheExtremist21

    XD :D

  • @TheExtremist21 me too...he made me realize that guitar-school grads are great technicians but the creativity is sorely lacking.Satriani couldnt write a great rock song to save his life no matter how technically great on guitar.

  • He's singing with his guitar!

such a beautiful tune, very special...

    AWESOME TAKE!

  • @stevecr223 I like the way you think, looking at Joe....Singing with his guitar...sounds kind of exotic,in a way,But I don't think anyone can make it "sing " like Joe does!

  • This is the first song I ever heard of Satch's and I thought to myself this guy is special.

  • @ApollosPlace

my favorite version of this tune is the one on the Time Machine Live album, sounds so great!

  • so damn heartbreaking :X

    u rock man... u`re the best ;)

  • Im a satriani fan, a Vai and a Petrucci fan. but im curious: this is a question to everyone: what is your opinion of Bon Jovi? I cant seem to really form one of my own.

  • Hi mate, I don't think you can compare them really, the styles are so different. Satch, Vai, Petrucci, absolute legends in their own right. Equally Sambora is a briliant guitarist and legend. Great bloke too, met him in '98 after show in London.

  • i'm a satriani fan too, and my second favourite band is Bon Jovi, these guys can touch your soul, dont?

    FOREVER rock!

  • hij kan wel een potje pingelen

  • the man is...wow

  • Absolutely fantastic playing!!!

  • all hail satriani!!! and bow down to him!!!

  • So AMAZING!

  • 5:36 - 6:35 OMG

  • 0:00 - 6:35 OMG

  • @Beast52864 YOU ARE HUNDRED PERCENT RIGHT,HE IS SATRIANI.

  • Um feeling sem precedentes no percurso histórico guitarrístico!

It´s a feeling that comes from inside out the soul, gorgeous!!!

  • Awesome performance!

  • this music has an awesome feeling !!

    Joe is a legend

  • In 2008 wish I could go to this show, it was close of Joinville, 100km, my cousin went there, but I coldn't, I had a test at saturday morning, a test of calculus II or maybe algebra II... Hope in my future career as an engineer I could face moments like this, 'cause for now I'm really not living everything that I want to... And if I could choose in my life, i would like to be like him... This man is gorgeous =)... I wonder him... Hope u all have enjoyed this moment...

  • Neil,

Change your major to design or something, youll really get to travel then, and we all know what that means ;^)

    Peace!

  • Front row... i still cant believe it... you were so close man... youre lucky... did you grab some picks or something?
