I've been trying to get a Hot Dog cart business going for about a year now. So far my cart is built, next month I will have a commissary (the one I want to use is filled until next month), and my inspection is next month. It's been an uphill climb, but to, one day, not punch some one else's clock, it will be worth the wait!!! Thank you for all the encouragement thus far.
@sjtom57 I agree that their are far too many regulations in some areas, but overall there are new vendors starting every day that are doing great. Most things that have huge potential require much effort. I wish you well.
That was very helpful, I live in Massachusetts and I have been really thinking about starting a hot dog cart, and I know that its pretty stringent up here with alot of things so I can only imagine their guidelines for a concession cart or stand, I just may have to try and figure out a way to get an enclosed cart, but I'm a really big fan of your Big Dog cart. How long does it take to setup a a cart at a location? How long does it ususaly take for a hotdog to be ready to searve?

@escodman I can set up and be running in about 30 minutes. Some people are quicker.

You pretty much answered why this once-great business isn't worth it anymore; far too many rediculous rules and regulations.
