I've never taken this, have no history of emotional problems but, and it's a big one, I was put on an older anti-depressant called Sinequan for anxiety just weeks after my dad's traumatic death. I could have gotten something safer like Valium but I was put on this hell drug. It either caused or triggered Restless Legs Syndrome.
It started when I was 24. I am now 50 and still suffer. These psych meds are nothing to mess with. Avoid them like the plague
Boy is this video overly dramatic. Depression ruins lives, not Cymbalta nor its withdrawal symptoms. I've been on and off Cymbalta for a years, and I also take several other medications for various diseases. While Cymbalta does have withdrawal symptoms, it is in no way severe. I myself get "brain zaps" and bad dreams, also double vision at nighttime, but did it ruin my life? No, it's helped me immensely with my depression. I can function now and I'm happy. You want real withdrawal? Try tramadol.
ive been taking cymbalta for almost a month, havent noticed anything odd like what everyone else is saying tho, had headaches for the first week i was on it and a wierd looking under eye twitch, but that was about it
Wow, this sounds JUST like Effexor! The infamous "head zaps"! And now lawyers are suing effexor for causing birth defects in newborns. But it makes sense; both Effexor and Cymbalta are SNRI drugs which literally screw with your brain. What I don't get is why drs. prescribe this crap for PAIN when it was devised for depression! I'm not depressed, you moron drs; I am in physical pain! Drs. FEAR and TERROR of prescribing real pain meds is simply unreal.
(cont)... At the end of the day, this area of medicine is about as perfect as the economy. Who will respond well to what medication with which symptoms is generally not testable by blood or imaging, but rather only by observation...at least for now.
I thank you for this post. As it turns out, I believe it was cited in a report to the Advisory Committee. You never know when or where your voice might end up being critical in bringing action to a population in need. [end...finally]
(cont).. So I would argue that an investigation is warranted, given what is at stake.
Sure, patients will have a spectrum of positive/negative flavors of effects with these drugs, based on the indication for which they were prescribed. For those responding well, great. But I see nothing wrong with this post as it is an expression of a real experience which could be related to Cymbalta withdrawal.
(cont).. How this may proceed however is anyone's guess. It doesn't appear that Eli-Lilly has to-date acknowledged any such issues. The prescribing info for Cymbalta does not indicate an evidence-based method for discontinuing it (by tapering, etc.). Given both what has been discussed and my own recent experience, this is rather alarming.
Unfortunately providers are then left with the brunt of figuring this out without a consensus on best practice for discontinuing the drug.
(cont) ... the pharmaceutical and medical device development process. I find, in addition to my work, that it is of personal importance to keep abreast of potential caveats with medications I am taking. Having recently begun experiencing these symptoms at the time I lapsed in my therapy, I decided to file through FDA reports on the matter. It appears that the FDA Advisory Committee is currently aware of anecdotal information of withdrawal symptoms on this drug.
I have been on a duo therapy with Cym 60mg and Buspirone 17.5mg 2x/day for a bit over 7 months now. I recently picked up on some odd symptoms (dizziness - activity dependent, unpredictable irritability, deep sadness, 'zappy' sort of tinnitus, chaotic dreams), after not being able to get my Rx refilled in time (and still waiting). Symptoms have been recurrent for 4 days now, the dizziness a tad bit worse today.
As a researcher in the field, I am quite familiar with the regulatory aspects of th
I saw this video before taking this drug and I SHULDVE LISTENED PEOPLE TAKE THE ADVICE FROM THIS PERSON..THE BRAIN ZAps mAKE U FEEL LIKE YOUR GOING INSANE....I CANT KEEP UP WIT MYSELF..I FEEL HORIBLE SOMEONE PLEASE HELP!!
Actually the symptoms resemble withdrawal fro EFFEXOR, especially the brain zaps or brain shivers. I hated that coming off Effexor before starting Cymbalta.
Actually I find Cymbalta superior to Effexor but alas, not perfect.
I have been taking Cymbalta in low doses (30-50mg/day) for about 18 months for fibromyalgia. It took a couple of months to figure out the dosage but It has helped me tremendously.
It obviously does not work well for everyone but it does for some. Isn't that the fair thing to say?
what can you see after ONE day? There are no withdrawal symptoms, you just have to lower the doses more slowly, and be supervised by a doctor for when and how. If you fuck up prescriptions, you'll be fucked up, whatever drugs for whatever disease you take!
I was on cymbalta for about 10 days for my fibromyalgia before my doctors decided to switch me to something else and just after those 10 days my withdrawal symptoms were insane. I have been off it for about a week and am still going through withdrawals..
I think this stupid video and song and you bashing Cymbalta is just wrong. It didn't work for you, period. But their are millions of people it works for and saved their lives. I'm going through clinical depression and major anxiety and want to start cymbatla because I've heard so many good stories about it. I wish I never came across your stupid youtube video. There are some people out there in this world suffering who will try anything to get better. You make it worse for them. FU!!!
Again, I was given Cymbalta by my PCP as treatment for Fibromyalgia & Peripheral Neuropathy. She is a regular old family medicine doctor; not a Psychiatrist.
I found a video on YouTube on how to wean off of the drug.
Just because cymbalta doesn't work for you, doesn't mean it is "evil" or "poison". It works wonders for many people around the world. Everyone's body chemistry is different, a miracle cure for one, is a hell for another person.
One day of Cymbalta, ENOUGH!!!! I am not taking ti again...for worse than anything I have experience in my entire life. Last night was.....NIGHTMARE. The brain zaps, oh my God. This stuff. The DRUG CORPORATIONS AND THE GOVERNMENTS THAT ALLOW THIS. Down with them!!!!!
@goknur1977 Good luck getting off of it. It's harder than you think. I was on Cymbalta (60mg) for 10 years because my parents took the easy way out, now it's taken me 4 months so far, countless dr. visits, countless supplements, countless acupuncture appointments, and...I still have 6 more months to go to healthily get off the drug. Withdrawals have been absolutely severe, almost requiring rehab and/or hospitalization.
@Synthesetic23 I went cold turkey before I wrote this message, now the drug is out of my system. I say do it my way only if there is someone to constantly be with you, makes it better to cope with all the withdrawals, it flushes out of your system quicker and now I am officially depression free doing alternative therapy like walking my dog, socialising (even if it means forcing myself) and getting some sun. I have had an awesone semester getting excellent marks in law and now doing my exams now.
right. i just need to add that if you dont take this and your posting here your out of your element and need to back out and search for another video. This one isnt for you! Ignorance is rampant here! Law suits are made in the 100s each year against drug companies! FDA is obviously fucked up!
stay away taken it 4 years for anxiety. Ruined my job. Stressed my relationships with friends and family. Mad side effects. Tried cold turky made it 8 days before the ER and losing my job! Been weaning now on my own for 2 weeks doctors wont help. I open them and divide the pellets and stuff ends with bread. Its fucking pathetic! America has gone to shit and corporations like this echoe that notion! Wake the fuck up! We dont need your poison! Shun medical marijuana cuz its free!? Fuck off!
I Know the story...you go to a psiacrist and you live whit prescription,...
i told my psichiatrisr D,r, spinedi i had blurd vision HI did not give a #### now I discovered that this infection by antidepressant can lind to the detachment of retina.....
I'll say this. . Cymbalta is the devil in drug form. They should never have made it. I'm anxious, irritable, I get angry easily, I get dizzy, I had nausea, I can't sleep, I feel tired all the time, I've had increased headaches, dry mouth, muscle pain, my vision blurs, I'm having speech problems - I stutter a lot more than I used to. I also constantly feel as though I'm not in my own body. That's just the start of it as far as withdrawals. >.< It's EVIL. DO NOT TAKE IT.
you fucking whining morons have all the drugs at your disposal to cure your "disease" and all you do is bitch about it. Ohhh cymbalta is bad...guess what?? go try something else you fucking dripping vagina. You live in a country that actually tries to help you and your bullshit "disease" and all you do is complain. Shut the fuck up or do us a favor and finish it.
@goeatadick11 Trollolololololio. Seriously, dude. Everything this video mentions? Happening to my girlfriend--and then some. She was never like this before taking it. It's going on just over two months and she's still having seizures, uncontrollable pain, and violent mood swings. She's had hallucinations, psychotic breaks from reality, constant vomiting/nausea, vertigo, and fear of leaving the house. I repeat, these things never were present before going on Cymbalta--just now that she's quitting
Check facebook and do a search on Cymbalta and Cipro. The story of my wifes nightmare with the two combined. NEVER EVER TAKE THEM TOGETHER. IT AMPLIES THE LEVEL OF CYMBALTA IMMEDIATELY IN YOUR SYSTEM BY AT LEAST FOURFOLD
the psychiatrist told me how to stop quitting i had to take one pill the other day half, and so on... i was so tireddddd of depending on a pill... as I told before i had terrible migraines for about 2 o 3 months, when I started taking them i had my mouth dry, lost appetite, after 2 weeks of taking I started to feel different, my eyes got dilated,, feeling migraines 24 hrs for months its like a nightmare
@navacely It's tough starting on an anti-depressant. It's always a rough start. I know, because I've been on 3 different kinds, all being ridiculously bad. When I first started on Cymbalta, I had significant side effects. Dilated eyes, nausea, loss of appetite, feeling out of my body, and the worst of all... I couldn't orgasm. It took about four weeks until all this subsided and had 0 anxiety and could live life again. When you start Cymbalta, you have to be dedicated and willing.
accept the origin of my depression understand it and accept myself as I am, my interior force kept me going, i had to increase my self-esteem, and work a lot a lot on my self, it took me a long time to understand things better, cymbalta just made me feel better but it was like a band covering my eyes..
When i quitted Cymbalta I had terrible headaches worst then migraines, was taking my 60 grams for almost 6 months, cymbalta " makes you feel better" but its just a disguise, like, anesthesia, but i had to solve my own issues for myself
im not saying anything negitive about you, your story, or your video in any way. but..all of your withdrawl symptoms were symptoms I suffered with on a daily basis before I started taking cymbalta, and have all eased enormously. I think the problem with this drug is its being too loosly perscribed to patients who arent sure what living with a major depression order for over 6 months truly means. im sure you were depressed, Im not discrediting your facts, but maybe cymbalta just wasnt for you.
@spunkzehh I’m not even agreeing all of these are side effects of Cymbalta, but you are… I don’t understand how you found relief from ALL of these symptoms that are not even depression symptoms and the drug is not meant to help with.
you dumbass....its just you wanting attention....try putting away the emo music, makeup, clothes? maybe the withdrawal symptoms were from you being a dumbass and didnt taper off.
btw that "doctor" in the white coat in the drug advertisements isnt really a doctor. wake up people Its like all you have to do is put on a white coat and a stethoscope and people will buy anything from you.
Do you people realize that drugs are heavily marketed PRODUCTS in the intent of making money. Name on drug that is supposed to CURE. other than antibiotics drugs are only intended to TREAT (cover up) a problem . You have to take it every day for the rest of your life or else all the symptoms come back. Heroin and cocaine were once sold as safe miracle drugs by good ol Bayer corp. Now they are one of the biggest problems in our society
Sarahschizm By ur own words every1 should take ur opinion w/ a grain of salt. Since u have been prescribed this drug, and are mental ill as well ur opinion doesnt matter either
oh sure suicide t/ FDA only passes drugs that R proven safe. talk about brainwashed . This video is some1s personal expression of how being on this drug made them feel . They should NOT keep their thoughts 2 themselves.
The people that "prove" cymbalta works are not medical professionals. Do you know that there have been many many studies that show that placebos(and/or exercise) work as well if not better than drugs for depression.
all of yall that post negative things aboout this video must not know what its like to go threw withdraw from this medicine.. if u dont know what its like dont say anything because this is hell. the symptoms from this medicine r so bad and ruin everything. it hurts u and everybody around u. its hell and it wont end, people just want to be heard and let them do that without saying bad things. let them share and help other people. if its doesnt help u then move on but it might help somebody.
Cont I do how ever understand that the internet has given every single muppet with a computer there own opinion which they are convinced everyone must hear, which in many cases is true, how ever before you decide to make an angsty music video to show the world how evil pharmaceuticals are perhaps you should do your home work and until them keep your "Random thoughts" to your self.
I understand that you may have an opinion but it doesn't mean you are right, many medical professionals ( who I'm sure have a higher level of education than your self, not that I'm trying to insult your intelligence just trying to have a frame of reference) have proven that Cymbalta actually has a beneficial effect when it comes to treating depression, it wouldn't have made it through years upon years of FDA drug trials if it didn't prove some form of efficacy.
videos like this drive me 100% crazy.. If this anti-depressant isn't working for you, try something else, if you have severe mental side effects from them, then when you start taking them, you should be admitted and put under a close phych assessment while you try new pills...
"You could lose your sanity"...etc etc.. Yeah, or you could be insane without it, keep in mind that this medication is PRESCRIBED for mental illness, so the peoples views of this medication should sometimes be taken..
With a grain of salt.. For myself.. I use cymbalta to treat severe depression/anxiety, and it is the only anti depressant that has ever worked for me (and I've been on lots..and lots) The side effects HAVE TO be listed if even one person experienced them during a trail.. Look at the side effects of just normal every day over the counter meds.. There's lots too.. Don't be sheeple! I have no negative side effects except once in a blue moon I get night terrors..
Medication ruined my life as well. I've been on a wide variety of psych meds for the past 5. I've never been the same. My emotions left me, my ability to feel happy was gone, I feel like an empty shell, a zombie, I'm worse off now then when I started. I've stopped all meds now.. and I'm still miserable. My advice to people is use medication ONLY AS A LAST RESORT, it may seem like a good quick fix at the time, but try alternatives first you never know what effect those drugs will have on you.
care to hear the truth? depression is usually from thyroid dysfunction from nerve interference. see an hio method upper cervical specific chiropractor to correct it's cause.
I took 2 pills 3 years ago and will never be the same.I was told keep taking it even if U bring it up.The skin peeled off my mouth and gums as it came up. 3 years later I'm stilled Screwed. A bowel movement is like tooth paste coming out the tube and I have a ringing in both ears 24/7. Dry mouth and a bad taste ans smell. Dizzy can't sleep through the night..night sweats.B-12 receptors were burned off and now I need shots. Brown PEE for a week..lumps too. ITS not worth the risk.
@lordsirikan wow, thanks for the profanity. I understand your frustration and fear. But that gives you NO right to to speak to me that way. I have tried to come off of the cymbalta and yes it was bad and I was unsuccessful. But I'm not on some public form screaming my head off. I am going to work with my doctor and make another attempt to come off of it supervised and in doing whatever is necessary. But the plan fact of the matter is I would not have made it though the last 2 yrs without it.
Great video. I was put on Cymbalta by my doc a while back and one tablet was enough for me. I was extremely sick for about four days, and from just one tablet. My whole body hurt, I had insane headaches, I was vomiting for about 3 days and it felt like I was dying. What's fucked is, my doctor told me this "new" anti-depressant has less side effects than others that are on the market. From personal experience and what I've read on forums and seen on youtube, Cymbalta is bad news.
don't you ppl know that medications come with side effects and that you need to give your body time to adapt to the new chemicals in your body that were apparently lacking. No on likes a quitter. Give it a real effector 6weeks then make your decision with your dr.
@charmapercy Shut your fucking month arsehole. Until you have experienced the withdrawals you can get fucked.
My partner is currently coming off it and she has every single side effect in this movie. I am going to go and punch her doctor in the face on monday. Hopefully that will be a reminder not to put people on this shit in the future.
Yes I know some drugs don't react well with some people, this drug reacts well with no one. It needs to be banned.

cmon all you depressed fucks like me. this video is misleading. the withdrawl your feeling is rather your seretonin levles DROPPING in your BRAIN! YES thats right your depression is coming back. and yes it is VERY hard shit to withdrawl even miss a dose. But depression has no limits to its depths of Hell. Id rather the drug please....
i've been on this shit for the past two years. i want off so bad but i get really incredibly sick when i stop taking it. it did help my depression/anxiety but it all comes back when i stop taking it.
BAD choice in music for this subject. OUCH my brain!
TOTALLY110% ready for the insane asylum. Cold turkey off this DEVIL & Clonazapam. Im NOW hiding in my own room (LOCKED door), even from my husband. NOONE can see me in this state. Having unconscious jaw 'stretching' and twitching, can not talk correctly all the time & drooling. Along w/ everything I have found today on the net on the subject of Cymbalta withdrawls.
DO NOT EVER START THE USE OF THIS DRUG! speaking from my heart & experience

@videocoverage well say hello to your depression returning. neurochemicals in your brain are servely dropping as uve stopped. why clentching and anxiety locking in room. Your not cured of depression yet. now once your off the shit like ive gone off and on Aropax 5 times in my life. ul like me discover hey i cant go to work and i want to die again. good ol cute depression. Isnt it cute? cognitive loss! bankruptcy from gambling, loss of friends, no job. no home good ol depression so cute. ahhhh
Right... I am not cured. But I realize and am strong enough now to deal with it drug free. Tired of band-aids. I also suffer from Fibromyalgia...so all these symptoms these patients coming off this stuff are feeling for the first time (serious muscle joint & nerve pain, nasea/vomitting, severe fatigue, nerve pinches/numbness/tingles, frequent headaches, etc.... I have felt this way EVERY day of my life for over 15 years; so that's NOT my complaint.
@videocoverage seems we all carry a cross these days. Ive had hodgkins twice. and major depression all life. Depression has left me broke and in debt! and other things. Someones cross will be MS anothers Parkinsons or brain cancer. List can go on cant it? Odds r great for crap. hmmm. Hope u keep ok with it. not saying it is or isnt the drug. coz if i knew id be all knowing. but open mind i guess. bye. ps a best mate died 2 days ago from brain cancer + tumor. 42. crap.
@Nevawake Sorry about the mate; bummer news. Mom died of it 4 yrs ago & 1 bro has serious post-cancer operation issues currently. But try as I might, I can't find in the Bible where Jesus or God promised us an EASY life; just one they promised to never leave each of our sides in, regardless of our sins, if we will just open our hearts to it.
BTW.. I see you live in Perth, OZ and you have depression.. HOW is THAT EVEN possible?? ;)
OZ and so close to BALI... gratefulness is in order! :)
@videocoverage BTW.. I see you live in Perth, OZ and you have depression.. HOW is THAT EVEN possible?? OZ and so close to BALI... gratefulness is in order! :)
Offcourse! Im very Grateful..AND i get what u mean..However Depression kills your cognitive processors and most things are distorted. Being sensitive and ALWAYS thinking of Death and disease and old age. ALWAYS analyzing WHY and etc. ITS not like i want to think these things. Or we try. Chemical imbalance ud still be unhappy in heaven.
@Nevawake My complaints are the fear-evoking, unexplained head tremors, disabling vertigo and the CAN'T GO OUT IN PUBLIC LIKE THIS..lower jaw 'drawl' nervous ticks I got.
This drug is NOT good for human consumption. I will be trying for a child soon if finances & careers are still secure. Don't want it in me AT ALL during this time.
Finding comfort and humbleness in volunteering and helping others less fortunate than myself, now.
@videocoverage yeah. i went off and on aropax:paroxatene 4 times in my life. yes miss a dose zap bang bang dizziness, nausea, temperature flushes anxiety, u name it. But in the end once off i found it was the depression again. Pychiatrist explained the zapping & etc is the result of seretonin levels in your brain which regulate a lot of things is now Dropping. or name it withdrawl. Who knows he could be right or wrong. but depression is a prick. Hope u keep well anyways. Sounds like u hav fibro
@videocoverage its day 5 on the drug.. im scared silly now.. what do i do OMG seriously what? i NEED a better life i need to feel normal stable minded and i have chronic pain nerve damage so it was to work on both.. got to say i feel pretty trippy at the moment but i expected that as its a SRR ...?? what ever they are seratonin thingo..

I take this drug, I'm always sweating from it, have extreme back pains, always feel axious, have confusion very often, and have a couple panick attacks, and have had diarea a few times.
Wow, thank you for this video, I was just perscribed 30mg for 1 week then to switch to 60mg... but I didn't start yet, i felt I need more documentation, before I try it, now thanks to you, I wont.
2 months ago- cymbalta for fibromyalsia--2 weeks into, emotional breakdown( slamming my head on the floor, screaming, no one will listen or understand that i feel horrible, not me anymore---back to doc 2 days after that started--doc told me stop cymbalta NOW--amitriptiline for the crazy things feeling from the cymbalta--sleeping--sleeping--husband takes me to psychiatrist couple days after--tryleptal 900mg---sleeping, crazy feeling,--i stopped it all. 2 weeks ago.-I AM NOT THIS-THIS IS PILLS!
The drug companies even admit in their "disclaimers" that exactly how these noxious chemicals affect the brain is "not fully known". If you take any antidepressant, you are either foolish or have far too much faith in the "medical profession." In all probability--your doctor is getting a kickback from big pharma for prescribing these unquestionably poisonous substances. If you have depression--see a shrink who does NOT prescribe drugs.
you know although I believe that some of this is a real concern, listing every side effect in the PDR or in online sources really isn't useful. Some of these things affect very few, some are minor compared to others, some are temporary. Tapering off is a standard procedure with almost all psychotropic drugs -- please consult a doctor before discontinuing "cold turkey*. It is likely to make things worse if you use a cold turkey approach.
I'm sorry this did not work for you but i dont think this is a good outlet to your depression and i truly understand the pain involved with this medication but in hind sight you still make your decisions and the medication can play a role in how you react but is not the sole cause.
You are in no way the first person to feel this way but it takes work to get better and you cannot rely solely on medication
i think everyone needs to stop giving/taking medical advice through a youtube video. this is one person's experience. NO ONE should take any medication unless it is absolutely necessary. that being said, anyone who has suffered serious debilitating depression and/or anxiety knows that medication like this can be a lifesaver. THESE SIDE EFFECTS ARE NOT FELT BY EVERYONE and scaring people into not seeking the help they need is unfortunate. if you NEED meds, take them!
Cymbalta made me want to kill myself more than the Depression itself. It drove me absolutely insane! Plus my doc decided to put me on 2 or 3 other Depression Meds at the same time as Cymbalta! Just reached in her cabinet and threw a bunch of bottles at me and said good luck. Fuck
I fucking hate this commercial. Every time I see or hear this commercial, it makes me think of when I was depressed and had to go see doctors for medications and counselor for help. Then it reminds me of how the SSRI's made me feel 10x worse with horrible side effects. When I stopped, I kept getting these electric shocks in my head for MONTHS. Fuck these pharmaceutical companies, all they are trying to do is make money. This shit should NOT be advertised.
I think this video is irresponsible. I have had severe depression for ten years and about 5 suicide attempts. I was unable to work for 3 years and Cymbalta is the only antidepressant that was effective for me and has allowed me to live a normal lifestyle and work. Cymbalta is very helpful to many depression sufferers like myself but can have negative side effects (like all antidepressants) for some patients. Patients who experience negative side effects should stop taking this drug.
@allimac3 - Excellant reply. Most of the comments in this section are from fucktards who are on multiple meds and don't havce counselling in conjunction with meds. Most probably take other drugs or drink as well. Cymbalta alone works excellent for me. i have never felt better.
1 month 30mgs a day..minor nausea and insomnia for the first week..no complaints..anti anxiety effects felt instantly, antidepressant effects felt after the first week
After tring anti-deps. including cymbalta for no more than 2 months at a time, this video confirms what I thought about these type of drugs. Thanks for the video. I think I'll manage and be me rather then think that I am managing and be someone else.
Yeah, I've known people that had a chemical imbalance. It's sad and they need help. After a while, the imbalance straightened itself out and they actually got off of the drugs.
But, I strongly urge people to try EVERYTHING possible before taking drugs like this.
Exercise triggers endorphins that may help. Mini-vacations are good... Good food...
I think I'd rather fight depression on my own terms every day, than take this stuff.
Am I the only one that after a week on this drug started to get horribly excrutiating cramping aches and pains from my waist down, and not just that but my stomach feels bloated, gassy and hurts. WTF? I just switched from Effexor because of brain zaps, weight gain and cystic acne side effects. Now what? I have tried just about every drug out there. :( grrrr
Cymbalta can be compounded down to lower doses. I have found reducing in 10 mg increments to be tolerable and free from the brain zaps. Ask your pharmacist!
im 28 and as of today i was diagnosed with a mild chemical imbalance similar but milder than bipolar..im starting 30 mgs of cymbalta..any advice or warnings would be much appreciated
Please do your research before starting this drug! Google 'cymbalta withdrawal' for experiences of others taking and trying to get off of this highly addictive drug. Cymbalta seems to affect the nervous system, so if I missed a dose, within a couple of hours I would experience vertigo and electrical jolts in my tongue and brain when I would turn my head. It's awful...
I suggest reading Eat Your Way to Happiness, by Elizabeth Somer and The Serotonin Power Diet .
Yes. thank you for explaining. I will definetly take this into consideration. I hope I feel better soon from all the withdrawal symptoms i am having. 5 stars and hang in there.
Great viedo ,I have been getting off Cymbalta since the end of september 09 Im on 20mg every other day and still very shakey . I talked to my pharmist he said it could take several months to feel better after my last dose
Oh no this stuff got worse and worse for me, basically every side effect it can cause it did cause. But yeh alot of people even with that still take it, I understand and all but damn. I hear Wellbutrin is as effective with not nearly the ammount of side effects, or course opinions vary.
Ask your dr for a prescription for 10 mg compounded. A compounding pharmacist CAN do this for you. I tried for almost a year to get off of 20 mg and couldn't. Also, try taking extra omega's. Best wishes and God Bless!
Cymbalta does work, but should only be used short term. Unfortunately, I stayed on Cymbalta for almost 3 years. I am in the midst of withdrawal symptoms from Cymbalta and I am here to tell you...they are very unkind. Mind over matter - I can do this - I must do this - there is no turning back. But please please listen to me - DO NOT allow your doctor to put you on these types of meds period....just not worth it.
cymbalta worked when i first started taking it. now i still take it and it doesnt work anymore. im only 17. my body must have adapted to the change and is now probably dependent on this....myabe a long withdrawl is the life changing experience i need
Thanks for this video. I agree 100%, as my Aunt, whom I WAS very close to is now someone I do not even know anymore. Thanks Cymbalta! She instantly lost her memory of everything important in the past. She is aggressive and wants to fight all the time unless I agree that everything is like she wrongly thinks it is. Go to her with a problem, and I walk away angry and saddened that she doesn't care at all any more. She now lives in a false reality and I cannot even stand her.
cymbalta is a bitch, i've been taking it for migranes and im now withdrawing from it and the withdraw effects are horrible not only that but its caused me to gain weight -_-
man i know how depression feels and it hurts so much!! im still too young to be depressed.. and i hide it all behind a fake smile!! it sucks and its not a life to live! but antidepressants arent always the answer because they have very many side effects! I dont even know why i get so sad most of the time,,,i hate life
I was on Cymbalta for like two years. The withdrawals and side effects of missing even a day were not worth any potential benefit. I felt like I was dying, I was more nauseous than I'd ever been and I had the worst nightmares imaginable. It took months for the nightmares to go away after I transitioned to a generic.
taking drugs for depression is a way to find the things that make you depressed and knowing from being depressed before the right medecine you find is an easier way when your a teenager and things like going on vacation and that stuff is not possible im just saying dont comment on it unless youve experianced before thats being ignorant

Isn't that the fair thing to say?
byniggle 2 months ago
what can you see after ONE day? There are no withdrawal symptoms, you just have to lower the doses more slowly, and be supervised by a doctor for when and how. If you fuck up prescriptions, you'll be fucked up, whatever drugs for whatever disease you take!
agliso 3 months ago

FU!!!

When you start Cymbalta, you have to be dedicated and willing.

im not saying anything negitive about you, your story, or your video in any way. but..all of your withdrawl symptoms were symptoms I suffered with on a daily basis before I started taking cymbalta, and have all eased enormously. I think the problem with this drug is its being too loosly perscribed to patients who arent sure what living with a major depression order for over 6 months truly means. im sure you were depressed, Im not discrediting your facts, but maybe cymbalta just wasnt for you.

Now they are one of the biggest problems in our society

oh sure suicide t/ FDA only passes drugs that R proven safe. talk about brainwashed . This video is some1s personal expression of how being on this drug made them feel . They should NOT keep their thoughts 2 themselves.
The people that "prove" cymbalta works are not medical professionals. Do you know that there have been many many studies that show that placebos(and/or exercise) work as well if not better than drugs for depression.
sjm442005 11 months ago 2
all of yall that post negative things aboout this video must not know what its like to go threw withdraw from this medicine.. if u dont know what its like dont say anything because this is hell. the symptoms from this medicine r so bad and ruin everything. it hurts u and everybody around u. its hell and it wont end, people just want to be heard and let them do that without saying bad things. let them share and help other people. if its doesnt help u then move on but it might help somebody.

Cont I do how ever understand that the internet has given every single muppet with a computer there own opinion which they are convinced everyone must hear, which in many cases is true, how ever before you decide to make an angsty music video to show the world how evil pharmaceuticals are perhaps you should do your home work and until them keep your "Random thoughts" to your self.
suicidebylifestyle 1 year ago
I understand that you may have an opinion but it doesn't mean you are right, many medical professionals ( who I'm sure have a higher level of education than your self, not that I'm trying to insult your intelligence just trying to have a frame of reference) have proven that Cymbalta actually has a beneficial effect when it comes to treating depression, it wouldn't have made it through years upon years of FDA drug trials if it didn't prove some form of efficacy.
suicidebylifestyle 1 year ago
videos like this drive me 100% crazy..

This drug in combination with Effexor causes Seratonin sydrome which is fatal.
I went to the hospital 3x, several GP's and not one person caught the interaction.
I was in pain, I used a wheelchair and a cane for two years while on these meds
I was told fibromyalgia, possible MS and Lyme.
I paid out of pocket for all doctor visits and meds(no insurance) $500.00 a month because I thought "they" knew what "they" were doing.
I'll NEVER trust a doctor, save one, again.
ANTIDEPRESSANTS are criminal.

If you have depression--see a shrink who does NOT prescribe drugs.

dmills1995 1 year ago
you know although I believe that some of this is a real concern, listing every side effect in the PDR or in online sources really isn't useful. Some of these things affect very few, some are minor compared to others, some are temporary. Tapering off is a standard procedure with almost all psychotropic drugs -- please consult a doctor before discontinuing "cold turkey*. It is likely to make things worse if you use a cold turkey approach.

hiya hun,
I'm sorry this did not work for you but i dont think this is a good outlet to your depression and i truly understand the pain involved with this medication but in hind sight you still make your decisions and the medication can play a role in how you react but is not the sole cause.

Cymbalta is the worst I've taken out of many horrible antidepressants I'm trying to get off of it right now and it is a NIGHTMARE
ngames1 1 year ago

TheBlingblingbros 1 year ago
I think this video is irresponsible. I have had severe depression for ten years and about 5 suicide attempts. I was unable to work for 3 years and Cymbalta is the only antidepressant that was effective for me and has allowed me to live a normal lifestyle and work. Cymbalta is very helpful to many depression sufferers like myself but can have negative side effects (like all antidepressants) for some patients. Patients who experience negative side effects should stop taking this drug.
allimac3 1 year ago
@allimac3 - Excellant reply. Most of the comments in this section are from fucktards who are on multiple meds and don't havce counselling in conjunction with meds. Most probably take other drugs or drink as well. Cymbalta alone works excellent for me. i have never felt better.

Ask your pharmacist!
julie825 2 years ago
@julie825 what the hell is a brain zap??
im 28 and as of today i was diagnosed with a mild chemical imbalance similar but milder than bipolar..im starting 30 mgs of cymbalta..any advice or warnings would be much appreciated
bobdacreepable 2 years ago
Please do your research before starting this drug! Google 'cymbalta withdrawal' for experiences of others taking and trying to get off of this highly addictive drug. Cymbalta seems to affect the nervous system, so if I missed a dose, within a couple of hours I would experience vertigo and electrical jolts in my tongue and brain when I would turn my head. It's awful...
I suggest reading Eat Your Way to Happiness, by Elizabeth Somer and The Serotonin Power Diet .
May God Bless You! Julie:)

thanks julie, appreciate the advice....im definitely gonna ask my doctor why she failed to mention brain zaps and vertigo

Oh no this stuff got worse and worse for me, basically every side effect it can cause it did cause. But yeh alot of people even with that still take it, I understand and all but damn. I hear Wellbutrin is as effective with not nearly the ammount of side effects, or course opinions vary.
Faelsun 1 year ago
@Faelsun I took 30 mg and had pretty much the same effects. So I agree, screw this crap.
techfreak15 1 year ago

You don't want this stuff.

taking drugs for depression is a way to find the things that make you depressed and knowing from being depressed before the right medecine you find is an easier way when your a teenager and things like going on vacation and that stuff is not possible im just saying dont comment on it unless youve experianced before thats being ignorant

Don't take drugs for depression, take ACTION and change what depresses you!
You can change any part of your life... sure it's scary, but it's possible.
Take the money that you'd spend on drugs, doctors, or shrinks and go to Hawaii, try skydiving, learn snowboarding, etc...
Human Beings are bad ass, and you're one of them!
