I had the same thing, I updated my nVidia drivers to 295.51 and it helped quite a bit. It still stutters when a lot of things happen at once, but definitely not as often and now it's playable at least.
I think it has something to do with the physics in the game, like if I break a whole bunch of barrels it freezes for longer than if I break 3 barrels, it also stutters when I defeat strong enemies.
yeah I hear you, just got the invite today but it seems as if more than 5 enemies are on the screen it just bogs down...... also replied on the forums too....
WHEW, im glad this isnt just me.. I thought for a second that my comp wouldnt be able to run this game but it seems a lot of people are having this problem. I cant even get past the first 3 zombies without stutter though so I hope they fix it soon
I've exhausted everything short of installing a different OS, the only common denominator is x64 windows 7, since it occurs on either green or red GPUs. I also have a 570 gtx that tears through every other game. This has to be a coding issue with the client itself... I've been a few beta tests closed or public, and this is the buggiest in terms of performance. It happens every time a new sound or visual element is loaded-- that will ruin cutscenes and kill you in Inferno. say bye to ur HC toon.

I, too, have had this issue and disabling the game sounds (CTRL+S) has actually fixed my problems.
