I am real shocked about Shay Sorrells being voted off. Her elimination is the most shocking moment in Biggest Loser history. Week 9 is the worst episode of season 8. I have no respect for Rudy Pauls. To add insult to the injury, Shay's transformation video was not shown. I am glad Rudy did not win the competition.
For four years I have been watching the show shoving ice cream fast food down my throat. High school I weighing 113. Ten years later 225. I went up and down on the scale in those ten years. After pills shakes and a good diet all I got was a shake belly. . I got down to 185 in 6 months You inspired me through my weight loss times thank you For putting your heart out there and never quiting which help me to have that no quit
Umm... He told her "we have a hoop alliance" which is a clear promise that they would not jump through eachother's hoops until they were the final two.
He began jumping through her hoop during the final three (the third being Danny), and made an excuse in his interview (don't know what word to use) that because Danny helped him get that far in the challenge that he shouldn't jump through his hoop.
I really think that was low of rudy to go back on his word , and then this week tell rebecca he cant trust her. He is the one not to be trusted. I felt shay should have stayed and amanda shouldve been voted off. Shay needed more time with the trainers. Amanda has made remarkable transformation that should could have continued at home.
The whole Rudy thing was a bit ridiculous. The young banded together right off the bat. So if Rudy HAD kept with Shay, and all of the "older" crowd were eliminated, he would be the next to go. The young blew it by not being smart and eliminating the bigger threats like Allen. Rudy had to stick with his crowd, and if Shay was getting that angry, she should have had everyone go after him. But she still jumped through Danny's hoop. So...he was totally right in what he did and Shay blew it.
Breaking promises like that is a lack of integrity. It was an unconditional promise (at least TV made that out to be) to form a "hoop alliance". He said "we have a hoop alliance", which is very clear.
I said "older ones", not "everyone". Neither of them knew the alliances were going to split young versus old. Once the "old" team was down to Rudy, do you think she would NOT go with her team (and Daniel) and for the love of God it was 2 months ago. Get over it.
i agree with most of what you said but i also think that what rudy did was still uncalled for - he still could have kept his word and won because lets face it - shay wasnt going to win regardless. But he felt it necessary to keep dannys back over shays - i just think its kinda low to give her false hope like that at the start. I like hearing your thoughts tho - i really love the show
I 100% agree with everything you said. It wasn't a big deal Rudy chose Danny over Shay. Shay couldn't help it that she couldn't help Rudy, but it wouldn't be fair to turn on Danny, the one who helped him get there and the one who had potential to win. I know that sounds mean, but it's true.
However, I think it's crap Shay got sent home. Shay loses good numbers and needs to be there. Amanda is skinny (compared to others) and she is PINK. Plus, her numbers aren't that great.
The most Amanda had ever lost in one week was 9 pounds, and that hadn't even happened at the time of this recap, but happened in Week 11 (final week).
Shay's numbers were a pattern of horrible numbers (5-9) to be followed by an incredibly huge number (16-17). 5 to 9 pounds may not seem so horrible for the average contestant, but for Shay who weighed 400+/almost 400 pounds, those numbers aren't so great. It was very similar to Daniel's pattern.
Shay and Daniel were on Jay Leno last night (11-10-09)...been home awhile...still doing good. After each Biggest Loser show, Jay Leno will have the one that was sent home.
I disagree with some things you said. Rudy in particular. Im upset Shay went home, I felt she should have stayed. If Rudy didn't have immunity, Shay could have gotten to stay. It was Daniel's time to go home, and he has the mind set to do well and he seems to be doing well. However, after seeing the transformations I am upset with the fact that Dave from last season has done nothing to help himself.
I think it was only a matter of time before dan got eliminated but I think for him it was never a question of winning the big money prize at the end it was always a a question of him getting his health in order and gettting his life back. I can see Shay one day getting down to a healthy weight. May not happen by the finale but she has the mindset and she can do it.

I think rudy was trying to say they are going to do shay's hoop last(younger team) and shay should do his hoop last

It wasn't a promise. You think Shay would have refused to go after Rudy once the rest of the older ones were gone? Nope.
rackfocus 2 years ago
It is absolutely true that she would have every reason to jump through Rudy's once everyone else was eliminated.
They agreed not to jump through eachother's hoops until the final 2, so, no, I never that that wasn't true.

look at how much shay lost?! that left my jaw on the floor.
I Dissagree COMPLETELY with you Mike, honestly rudy, made a pact or promise, he shouldve kept it, that was so low of him.
