the beatles did pretty limited live shows[i saw one in detroit,olympia],the shows were about 40 minutes.the sound equipment in that period barely over came the screaming,and was virtually inaudible to most of the audience.its nice to hear some of the material done properly here for a rough idea of how it should have sounded.i think it sounds authentic,and correct..

Why Lennon dismissed this song I could never fathom("lousy song...abysmal lyrics"). I think he felt the lyrics were "forced" as he appears to be trying to top Paul's clever internal rhymes in Iv'e Just Seen A Face recorded the day before. I think the lyrics are exceptionally coherent for a Beatles song of this period. JL felt otherwise and improved the lyrics 2 years later by recycling the tune and singing about a horse named Henry!

Yeah Capitol really butchered their albums. This was off the Capitol Rubber Soul as well as I've Just seen a face, which is also on the emi Help album. I bet you grew up listening to the cd's not the albums.

Def the most authentic sounding Lennon I have ever heard (next to the real John - I think if John was still around and heard this John he'd turn to Yoko and say, "Was that me? Did I record that?
