  • If you don't wanna use butter, try some olive oil then! Fat is bad, you're right, but it makes the sauce SO much better. You're allowed to treat you sometime you know ;)

    The gravy does NOT need cream or butter. Its not a dairy based gravy

    Just saying, try to use shallots instead of white oignons, let them caramelized (spl?) and then add the red wine with thym, bae leaves and salt+pepper. Use real stock instead of powder, and finish with some nice cream or butter. Don't forget to filter all this, you don't want shallots and bae leaves in your sauce ;)

    And...was this margarine? A big no no, use unsalted butter ;) Other than that, nice job!

  • Thanks for your suggestions!! Real stock is difficult for me as I don't eat meat, so I prefer (cost wise) the powder, and honestly cant taste much difference!

    Cream? Butter! Eeep! I make all my food as low fat as possible!!

    Next time I make it for someone else tho... ;)
